Chapter 4 (7 years later)

And so it begins…

Asguard

The two towering guards raced down the grand palace halls, their hearts and minds dreading the news they had to deliver to the royal family. The guards barged into the room, where the royal family was sharing an intimate lunch. They fell to their knees at the sight of their bewildered rulers, the King along with his father and son rose from their chairs.

"Heimdall has found him." The taller guard explained.

"He was seen in Midguard." The short guard panted out.

"Where in Midguard?" Boomed out the voice of the youngest man.

The guards exchanged nervous glance, the taller man hesitated before the younger one spoke up, "New York."

The Kings grimaced, "Theo come with me."

In mere moments Thor and his seventeen year old son, Theo, were speaking with Heimdall, in an attempt to figure out what Loki Laufeyson's first move of revenge in twenty years would be, as well as planning young Theo's first trip to Midguard.

~New York~

"You've been separated from your team on a secret mission, all of your electronics are disabled, and you are fifteen miles behind enemy line, what do you do?" An aged Agent Coulson asked the class in front of him. Nearing sleep, Mark Barton gave a muffled answer about using the sun to get back to the camp. Coulson smirked, "Let's say its dark, and the enemy is closing in, fast."

Olivia Rogers furiously scribbled down notes, to her right Will Banner also took notes. Behind the son of Elizabeth and Bruce Banner, was the ever bored Jarred Stark, who was folding his papers into paper airplanes and was sending them sailing across the class room. On Jarred's left was Natalie, then Mark Barton, the twin assassin protégés. Jarred yawned and stretched his long arms above his dark brown hair. "Why Coulson, why does it matter?"

Will let out a tired sigh as Olivia turned around in her chair, irritated. "Because we need to know how to handle ourselves in certain situations."

Jarred propped his feet up on the back of Will's chair, "You are right, but only to a certain extent."

"Surprisingly, Stark has a point Olivia," Natalie interjected without looking up from her doodle for a new arrow prototype she was coming up with. "No situation is ever going to be the same."

Coulson smiled, "That's correct Natalie."

Suddenly there was a light but rapid tapping at the door. Coulson opened the door to reveal a panicked Agent Maria Hill, clutching a manila folder. "I need to see you in the hall."

Coulson scanned his class, and then glanced at Maria. "Talk quietly amongst yourselves, Will you're in charge." Coulson instructed as he removed himself from the classroom, and shut the door.

"Argh, why am I never put in charge?" Jarred faux pouted, causing his friends to laugh.

"Jarred if anything you would be sixth-in-command." Natalie teased.

Jarred shrugged, "Not bad, at least I'm ahead of- WAIT! There are only five of us!"

"Exactly!" Will chuckled.

At that point Coulson stepped back into the room grasping Hill's manila folder, looking stressed and afraid. "Why don't you guys go to lun-"Coulson was interrupted by his blaring phone. "Agent Coulson…okay…mmm-hmm… I'll be there as soon as I can." Coulson returned his attention to the now worried teenagers and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Don't come back after lunch, or tomorrow. Just enjoy your four day weekend." Phil Coulson glanced around the room and failed to hide a small smile, "Where's Mark?"

Jarred shook his head as he walked out the door, "Already getting the good stuff from the cafeteria."

Just as the last person in the class, Olivia, was leaving, Coulson stopped her. "Olivia, I have to leave for an emergency," He handed over the folder to the tall blonde. "Can you drop this at Fury's office?"

"Yes sir," She took the folder and walked out of the class.

"What's that?" Jarred immediately questioned.

"I don't know, Coulson asked me to take it to Fury. I'm going to drop it off and meet you guys at the cafeteria."

"Well, don't you want to look in it?" Jarred reached out for the envelope.

Olivia side stepped his long reach and laughed, "Nat, please save me a seat and some remotely decedent food."

"Will do Liv, and hurry!" Natalie replied as she walked with Will and a pouting Jarred down the hall.

As Olivia stepped into the elevator she could still hear Jarred complaining about how Olivia would not let him look in the folder. After about a minute Olivia exited the elevator and made a left to Director Fury's office. She gently knocked on the door only to be met with a grunt, when Olivia entered she found that the Director was in a video conference call with the League of Nations. Olivia waved the document she had brought him, and he mouthed for her to leave it on his desk. She nodded and he returned to his meeting. However, Olivia Liberty Rogers didn't like when things were being hid from her team, and as Jarred's words replayed in her mind, she was overcome with questions. Olivia checked to make sure Nick Fury was too engrossed in his conference to notice her as she peeked into the top serect file. The blue-eyed blonde gasped and quickly dropped the folder on the desk of Director Fury before she ran as fast as she could to the cafeteria.

Olivia rushed into the cafeteria and maneuvered to the table where her four best friends were chatting and awaiting her arrival, so they could eat together.

"You okay Liv?" Mark questioned

"You look as if you've seen a ghost?" Will said with a worried voice, but interested hazel eyes hidden behind his wire glasses.

Olivia rushed her words out, "So, I was thinking about what Jarred had said about reading the file-"

"You didn't!" Natalie nearly shouted at her friend's out of character act, and Jarred smiled wickedly, Olivia held up her hand to pause the conversation before continuing.

"Anyway, Fury was busy on a video conference, so he told me to just put the folder on his desk, then he turned around and went back to his video conference, so I thought I could take a little peek and-"

Jarred grabbed Olivia's blue S.H.I.E.L.D issue leather jacket, "What?! What was it!?"

"Uhh…" She stammered wide eyed, looking past her friends questioning eyes.

Natalie turned to see what had startled her friend, she stood, "Directory Fury."

The rest of the table followed in Natalie's suit. "I need to see all of you in the conference room, now." Fury said, eyeing the five teens as if he could read their minds.

"Yes sir." They chorused in response as the Director swiftly exited the cafeteria.

After gathering themselves for a moment the small group of teens start to make the long walk to the conference room in silence. About half way to their destination, Jarred spoke up, "What was in the folder?"

Olivia shook her and silence fell back on the teens. After taking a few more turns they were at the door of the conference room. Will began to swipe his identification card, so they could enter the room, but

Olivia stopped him. She shakily sighed, "Loki is back."

"WHAT?!" The twins cried in disbelieving unison.

"Loki is back in New York for revenge." She strongly told them again. "I think that is what Fury is going to tell us, but I wanted you to be prepared." Olivia nodded at Will to open the door.

The opened door revealed their parents- Steve Rogers, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, Clint and Natasha Barton- Agents Phil Coulson and Maria Hill, Director Fury, and two large blond strangers.

"Children, I want you to meet Thor and Theo Odinson." Coulson gestured at the men.

"They are here because a situation has arisen." Fury said as he motioned for the group of teens to sit around the conference table.
