Yay, finally a update! LOL. Sorry I didn't update for a long time. Winter break wasn't as pleasant as I thought it would be.
This chapter is pretty short, there wasn't much to write about.
And can I ask you guys of one request? Please check out our new story, 'The Lost Items of Aphrodite.' It's an OC story, but please try it. I want some attention on that story too.
And one more thing, or question actually. Do you guys read fanfictions with cussing often? And if you do, are you fine with it?
For me I sometimes do, but I try to avoid it. It doesn't really matter, but it's just a habit of mine. I'm asking this question because I'm thinking of writing another story after I finish my story What If (go check that out too if you want) and cussing would make it a bit more realistic... I think. Because I never cussed in real life (at least yet) so... yeah. It's kind of awkward. XD
"You see, eons ago, the gods granted my wish. I could continue the work I loved. I could be a teacher of heroes as long as humanity needed me." The Lightning Thief p. 82
"You've been a teacher to all the greatest heroes," Zeus said, nearing an end to his speech. "Is there anything you would like in return?"
I stepped forward and nodded. "Yes. I would like to continue this role of teaching young demigods and helping them be great heroes."
Right then when I made that wish, it'll be painful and tragic too. Those who I have spent time with would always grow to pass.
He nodded. "Very well. You will be a teacher of heroes as long as humanity needs you."
"Which will probably be a very long time, so why not just say immortal, brother?" Poseidon joked.
"Yes, why make everything so complicated?" Ares yawned.
"Or maybe it's just your brain that's too simple to understand," Athena shot back.
"What'd you say, Owl Face?"
"You heard me, unless you're deaf, which I wouldn't be surprised about. And take that back, you thickheaded idiot!"
Zeus coughed. "So all in favor?"
They both shut their mouths and nodded. I bit back a smile. The Olympians couldn't get through anything without an argument.
Athena gazed at me with her intelligent gray eyes (those which I was slightly afraid of), and I felt a tingling sensation. "Chiron, let me warn you, and you probably already know. There will be tragedies."
I nodded slightly. "Yes, I know."
"Yet you'll still accept?"
I nodded curtly.
"Very well, then," Dionysus said waving his hand. "Any more interruptions?"
"Nope?" Zeus said. "Then, Chiron, the teacher of heroes, will remain forever as his role as long as humanity needs."
All the other gods muttered consent.
"Very well. You may leave," Zeus said, and I left.
I've seen many demigods pass as I kept my role. It depressed me, but I tried not to stay on it for a long time.
"No, you shoot it like this, Savannah," I said adjusting her posture. Her arrow missed by a mile nevertheless.
I walked along the archery lane complimenting or helping the other demigods out. I still couldn't get the thought out of my head about the fact that these demigods too will die someday.
"Well, I guess my job here is done," I said looking up at the gods once more.
The gods too were old and weary from their lives. Even though they were immortal, it showed.
"Yes, you have our gratitude," Zeus murmured.
"Thank you for your service," Athena said.
I nodded. All those years of teaching did me a lot. I was glad that I asked for that wish. I didn't regret it as I faded away, ready to meet my students.
