Dynasty was woken up by the usual sounds of Kacey and Barry arguing over the bathroom and who got to use it first. She rolled her eyes as she pushed herself up and out of bed, muttering under her breath for them to hurry up. She slipped into her pink fluffy dressing gown before making her way down the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast, knowing it would be at least 15 minutes before she got a chance to use the bathroom, especially if Barry won the argument. She picked up a piece of toast from the plate her mother had just put down, jumping out the way as Carol swiped at her.

"You can make your own toast, lady!" Carol smiled.

Dynasty just giggled as she sat down, vaguely remembering an episode of 'Mrs Brown's Boys' Kevin, Imogen and Connor had made her watch. "Yeah well it was there."

"Mum, Barry's gonna take ages in the bathroom!" Kacey's voice called, walking down the stairs.

"You should learn to get up earlier then, Kace." Dynasty smirked.

"Who asked you, bimbo?" Kacey retorted, easily ducking out of the way when Dynasty had picked up a magazine from the table and threw it at her.

"Can you's not fight at the breakfast table? Kace you've got ages yet." Carol looked at them both.

Dynasty couldn't help but smile. It was these moments with her family she loved, where they could smile, joke and talk easily like a normal family. It would be shattered if her mum found out she'd gone to the police about Steve-O. Two more slices of toast later, Dynasty stood and walked up to get herself ready for school. She made it up the stairs just as Barry had come out of the bathroom and she quickly darted into the room, shutting and locking the door behind her so she could freshen herself up and put her make up on in peace.

Ten minutes later there was a knock on the door. "Hang on!" she called, applying the finishing touches to her mascara and eye liner.

"Imogen and Kevin are here." Came Kacey's voice through the door.

"Tell 'em to wait, I'm not ready yet."

" 'Kay."

Dynasty checked herself in the mirror or the last time before leaving the bathroom to her bedroom so she could get dressed into her uniform and give her hair a brush. She decided she was going to leave her hair down for the day, Kevin had once said it suited her that way but she didn't believe him at the time. Once she had been made perfect, she made her way down the stairs picking her bag and coat up from the banister and she walked into the living room to see Kevin and Imogen sat down. "You ready?"

Kevin looked up and gave her his biggest grin, which always seemed to melt her whenever she saw it, and he nodded.

Imogen still looked deep into her thoughts, hands clasped together in her lap.

"Think her batteries have gone in her hearing aids an' she hasn't bothered to change 'em. She's been quiet all mornin'." Kevin looked at both girls.

Dynasty said nothing, but knew that wouldn't have been the case. The only time she'd ever seen her friend panic was when she found she couldn't hear as clearly as she had done, only to realise it was in fact the batteries that needed changing. "Can you give us a min?"

Kevin nodded again, obeying her wish and he left the room, shutting the door.

Dynasty walked and knelt down in front of her, forcing Imogen's gaze on to her. "Lemme look."

Reading her lips, Imogen slowly opened her hands to reveal the very things to help her hear.

Dynasty tried desperately to remember what bits of sign she'd picked up, actually wishing her friend would put them back in so she could have an actual conversation. Eventually it came to her and she signed. "What's happened? Why have you taken them out?"

"Mum found it… went mad…" Imogen whispered, though she wasn't sure if the words had escaped her. She remembered the argument that morning, the disgust in her mother's voice, the words that were said.

"You ain't walked all the way 'ere without 'em?!" Dynasty asked, forgetting to sign it but she knew she could understand her.

Managing to read the question Imogen nodded. "Kevin was walkin' past an' he offered to walk with me. I took 'em out when he wasn't lookin'."

Dynasty pointed upward, motioning for her to stand, when the girl obeyed Dynasty pulled her into a hug, it was then Dynasty realised she was shaking, whether it was stress or her held in cries, she didn't know. She stood out of the hug, took the hearing aids from her friend in one hand and with the other moved her hair to behind her ears. "You should put these back in now." She told her, holding them out to her and waited for her to take them and put them back into her ears. "We'll 'ave a proper chat later yeah? You should also talk to Connor."

"But what if he doesn't want this?"

"'E married yer didn't 'e? S'what usually 'appens when you do that." Dynasty smirked.

"Not everyone." Imogen pointed out.

"Yeah I know. Bu' them girls ain't got their 'ead screwed on 'ave they? They've usually gone out and got pissed or their fella's done a runner or they've cheated. You an' Connor, you've got somethin' worth fightin' for. You both proved it."

"Yeah I suppose…" Imogen sighed.

"It's not like you're on yer own is it? You got us, you got Kev, an' Connor, an' his mum." Dynasty smiled.

"Dynasty! Hurry up you'll be late!" Carol shouted, walking past Kevin as though he were not there and opened the living room door. "Come on you two get a move on."

Dynasty looked around and nodded, walking out of the room, leaving Imogen to follow her, which she started to do, but was stopped by Carol.

"You alright, love?" Carol asked.

"Yeah… Thank you." Imogen gave her her most convincing smile before ducking out of the room to join Kevin and Dynasty as they walked out of the door.

The walk to school seemed to take forever, and seeing Connor waiting by the lockers didn't help her nerves. She grew increasingly worried, keeping her eyes on the floor as they walked. It wasn't until Dynasty stopped, making her stop also that she finally looked up.

"Right you, stop your panickin' cause it'll only worry 'im." Dynasty told her firmly. "You're scared, I get that, but the more you worry the worse it gets. You need to tell 'im but you need to calm yourself, okay?"

Imogen gave a small nod and took a few deep breaths to calm herself. After a minute she started to feel a little better.

"Okay now?" Dynasty questioned.

Imogen looked. "Better than I was."

"That'll do. C'mon." Dynasty told her and walked over to her locker to get her books for that morning, Imogen doing the same. Connor and Kevin waited until the girls were done before they walked with them to their first lesson, Science.

"You okay?" Connor asked, a little concerned that Imogen looked a little paler than normal, a bit more tired than usual, and his memory went back to the last time he'd seen her like this. He'd accused her of being pregnant, and said he'd stand by her, which was true then, and still true now.

"Yeah. Late night with Dynasty, that's all." Imogen half-lied, giving him a smile before she kissed him.

"Okay, if you're sure." Connor smiled a little, not convinced in the slightest, but he figured if she wanted to tell him then she would, he wouldn't push her into answering.

The morning passed with very little drama, Imogen decided that during their free lesson after break she'd talk to Connor. She waited until the bell went to signal the end of break, then she walked toward the library where she knew Connor and Kevin would be. She was stopped along the way by a few girls that were in her dance class.

"Where you off now?" one of the girls asked.

"Yeah, wanna come with us? You look like you could do with a break." Another asked.

Imogen shook her head, smiling a little. "No, there's somethin' I have to do."

"You sure?"

Imogen nodded. "I'll catch up later though."

"Okay. If you're sure." One of the girls said before they walked away, leaving Imogen alone once more.

Imogen sighed softly and started walking again toward the library. She pushed her way into the room and scanned the area until she found Connor and Kevin sitting in the corner looking as though they were in deep discussion. She slowly made her way over to them. "Connor?"

Connor stopped and looked up to her, smiling when he saw her. "You alright?"

"Urm… can we go somewhere? I need to talk to you." She spoke.

Connor and Kevin shared a look before he stood up. "Okay, come on."

Imogen gave a nervous smile before she took hold of his hand and walked out with him.

Dynasty was sat with Rhiannon, watching the interaction between the two of them. She made her excuses to Rhiannon when they walked out and she got up and went to Kevin. "What was that about?" she asked, acting like she had no idea.

"Dunno, whatever it was it didn't sound too good." Kevin shrugged. "Y'don't think they'll split?"

"No! Nah they're too strong for that… look what they've come through. I hope we can be like that." Dynasty gave a smile.

"We will." Kevin smiled, looking at her.

Connor lead Imogen into an empty classroom and looked at her. "You gonna tell me what's going on?" he asked, his thoughts going into overdrive, thinking the worst was about to happen.

"I dunno how to say it…" Imogen looked to a table next to her and she started absentmindedly drawing a pattern with her finger.

"Just say it." Connor pressed gently, reaching out to touch her arm. "Whatever it is we'll be okay."

"D'you remember before we got married… How tired I was an' everything and you got it all wrong…?"

"Yeah?" Connor looked confused. "Where's this going?"

"Did you mean what you said though? About being there?" she looked up at him, biting her lip.

"Yeah…" It was slowly coming together inside his head, but his brain was still too slow to come to the instant realisation to what she was saying. "What are you talking about?"

Imogen sighed and reached into her bag and pulled out the stick, putting it down on to the table in front of him.

Connor watched her actions and froze when he saw the object being placed in front of him. "Wh-…." He started, looking at her, his eyes wide as it hit him full force in the face. "Is that…?"

Imogen nodded, biting her lip.

There was a moment's silence, Imogen feeling more and more alone as the seconds passed. "Well say something…"

Connor shook his head a little, smiling widely and he hugged her tightly.

Imogen let out a laugh of relief, she hadn't realised she'd been holding her breath. She hugged him back, burying her head into his shoulder.

"But what about yesterday?" Connor asked, remembering how odd she'd been acting.

"I needed to be sure first… and… well Dynasty kind of guessed and I asked her not to say anything."

Connor nodded in understanding, but a little hurt that she felt she couldn't talk to him. "I get why you told her, she's your best mate, I know, I just wish you could've told me." He told her softly.

"She wanted me to, but I didn't know how to say it, and mum's found out this morning... and…" she hadn't realised she'd started crying until Connor had reached up to wipe a tear away and he held her close again.

"Well I meant what I said, I'll be here for the both of you." He told her gently, he couldn't stop smiling.

Imogen smiled a little. Her hand unconsciously rested up on her stomach, and she tilted her head up to kiss him.

Their quiet moment together was disrupted by a lot of shouting coming from the corridors.

Connor lead her out of the classroom to find out what was going on.

"Where is she?! When I get my 'ands on 'er!" a woman was shouting, a few teachers following her trying to get her to leave.

"Excuse me you're on school property! You can't just barge in here wanting to see one of our kids!" Tom Clarkson shouted.

"You!" the woman pointed directly at Imogen. "You know Dynasty, where is she?!" she demanded.

"Like I'd tell you!" Imogen snapped. She didn't need anyone to tell her who this woman was, she knew exactly who she was by the woman's attitude. "If you'd 'ave taught your son any respect for women 'e wouldn't be in a police cell!"

Connor immediately stood in front of Imogen just as the woman was about to throw herself in the girl's direction. Tom and Nikki held the woman back.

"Touch 'er I'll have you escorted off this premises by the police." Tom told her, sharing a look with Nikki. "So that's why she wouldn't say who she was." He muttered to Nikki.

At that moment, the class that had occupied the library were making their way out as their free period was almost up. Amongst the crowd was Dynasty and Kevin.

The woman looked and spotted Dynasty in the crowd. "Oi! Dynasty!"

Dynasty looked at the sound of her name and she froze. "What're you doin' 'ere?"

"I want to know why you've gone round tellin' a pack of lies about my boy to your mates and the police!"

"I didn't lie." Dynasty told her. Her worst fear was happening right in front of her. The fear of not being believed, being made to feel like it was her fault.

"My boy wouldn't 'ave 'urt you! What we've done for your family! You don't stab people in the back like that, we've pulled you lot from the gutter, we should have left you there!"

"I know what you've done for us… please can we not do this here?"

"Why not? Scared you'll get found out to be a dirty little slapper who lies?"

"I didn't lie!" Dynasty snapped, her resolve crumbling. She looked around for support, Kevin was the only one by her side, and she could understand why Connor was stood in front of Imogen so she wouldn't be hurt. But she knew had they not had something else to worry about, they'd be right by her side too.

"You better watch yourself, Dynasty Barry. My boy never raped you. 'E would never do that. What 'appened? Decided you wanted out so you thought rather than let him down gently you'd get him locked up? He'd have let you go if you told him."

"No he wouldn't!" Kevin snapped, he'd had enough, he just wanted Dynasty to be happy. "She told him she didn't want to be with him, and he threatened her, he wouldn't leave me or any of her mates alone. I'm glad he's locked up, and I hope he gets sent down for good. Now leave us alone."

"You 'eard 'im." Tom spoke. He gave Kevin a nod to congratulate him on his words, though he made a mental note to speak to him about Scottish law a bit later. There was no guarantee in this law that he'd get sent down.

The woman glared. "Watch your back, lady. You'll wish you never messed with us." She threatened before walking back the way she'd come.

The crowd around Dynasty and Kevin stood on shock, murmurs of conversation wondering what the hell had happened and casting wary glances to Dynasty.

Imogen stepped from Connor's shadow and walked over to Dynasty. "Do one you lot." She told the group and looked to her friend. "You alright?" she asked. She knew she wasn't, but she could think of nothing else to say.

"That's it… S'all over innit." Dynasty muttered. "'E'll get out…"

"You don't know that. C'mon… let's go see Christine…" she said softly, looking over as Connor walked over to them. "We need to get her to your mum." She spoke.

Connor nodded and the four of them made their way to the English department, looking for Christine's classroom.
