So what if the wedding night wasn't all it cracked up to be? Why wouldn't our lovely couple be hugged up and inseparable the next day?
The morning after….
Xiang Qin bumped in Zhi Shu on the way to the bathroom. Both blushed, refused to make eye contact and mumbled 'sorry'. They both failed at getting out of the other's way and bumped bodies again.
"Um," Xiang Qin began, but was interrupted by Zhi Shu's low-voiced sorry as he turned even redder at the thought of how many times he'd said sorry since last night.
"PLEASE," Xiang Qin said. "Don't say that word again. I can't hear it one more time." The words came out harsher than she intended, but she didn't feel like adjusting her tone. "Why don't we just try not to think about last night and enjoy our last day, okay?"
She tried to sound upbeat, but Zhi Shu could always see her true mood. She was annoyed, and more than a little disappointed. He knew (A/N: hell, we ALL knew) just how much Xiang Qin had been looking forward to last night. He knew about the secret shopping trip with Mom and had picked up on all of her hints. He'd even found her stash of +18 manhwa romances while they were packing up her room. She'd tried to be non-chalant about it, but he knew what she expected, and genius that he was, he knew he could deliver. At least he'd thought he could.
Once mom had set the wedding date, he'd recognized that he had very little time to prepare. He had planned on having years, (okay, months, who was he kidding) to work on increasing intimacy between him and Xiang Qin. Just because they'd been living together for nearly four years didn't mean a whole lot. Sure, they'd seen each other in pajamas, sick, at meals, in their bedrooms, at their best and works, and even slept together more than once, they had never actually dated or functioned as a couple. Going from three kisses and some skinship to THAT wasn't as easy as it sounded. They were going to be married, but were they ready? He had concerns.
Zhi Shu had had two weeks to get ready and with his memory skills, he knew he could learn a lot, but once he tried to put some of the stuff he read into practice, he failed. His mom had even made his dad try to have 'the talk' with him. She'd probably said something like "You know he's never had a girlfriend. I don't want anything to happen to my poor Xiang Qin. You have to talk to him!" His dad had started with some stuff about how it's way different doing it than reading about it, even your hand is different from…. At that point, Zhi Shu had tuned him out by solving some equations in his head. He was pretty sure that Dad had thought he was listening, and now he wished that he had, but he'd never admit it out loud.
Zhi Shu thought back to where it had all started to go wrong: When that damned Mari and her gullible-ass husband called him to their room…
Once he realized Xiang was missing, his adrenaline had gone through the roof. He was so upset with himself, and when he did finder her, his emotions got the better of him. So did his hormones. He'd been cockblocked all week suddenly he was this rutting beast practically stripping his wife naked on a balcony before dragging her to the bed. Xiang Qin had been giving almost as good as she got (what the hell was in those manhwa books anyway?) and they'd worked themselves into a frenzy when it all, um, came apart.
Neither one of them had given any thought to birth control. Xiang Qin was on the pill, but it wasn't effective yet since it had only been two weeks. He'd seen some condoms in Xiang Qin's luggage, but he suspected his mom had poked them full of holes, so he bought some on the island. Too bad they weren't near the bed at that moment, those condoms with their ability to decrease a man's sensitivity. Too bad he hadn't had time to rub one out in the shower like he'd planned. Too bad Xiang Qin was using all that shit she'd learned in those comics. Too bad he'd missed his dad's advice about making sure Xiang Qin came at least once before he did. Too bad about that giant wet spot he left in the bed. Too bad he fell asleep because of the adrenaline crash, leaving a disgusted Xiang Qin to sleep on the couch so they both woke up virgins. Again.
