Dynasty woke with a start the next morning. Memories of the night before plagued her dreams, the words her mother threw at her, the way Barry refused to even acknowledge her. She pushed herself up and looked at her phone. 5:45am. 'Great.' she thought. She got up, being as quiet as she could, grabbed her uniform and quietly walked out of Imogen's room, making her way to the bathroom.

She gave her face a wash and got herself dressed, taking her time with it. She was in no rush, but she did need to go back to her home to collect her things.

After half an hour, Dynasty opened the door just as Imogen bolted from her room and straight for the bathroom, collapsing on the floor by the toilet just in time to throw up.

Dynasty sighed and turned to walk back into the room, sitting on the edge of the bath to hold her friend's hair back. She looked up to see Sally appearing in the doorway, having heard the noise. "It's alright, I've got it." She spoke, and the older woman left them to it.

Once she was finished, Imogen sat back against the cold tiled wall, shivering as she felt the cold through the t shirt she'd borrowed from Connor. "Sorry." She said softly.

Dynasty shook her head. "Wait 'ere." She said, holding her hand out to her friend as you would to tell a child or a dog to stay. She stood and walked down the stairs to the kitchen to collect up a glass from the draining board and filled it with water, before taking it up to Imogen who hadn't moved from her seated position by the toilet. "Here."

Imogen looked up, not hearing her but saw the glass and she took it. "Thank you."

Dynasty rolled her eyes, and after a few minutes she helped her friend to stand. She walked with her back to her room. She watched as Imogen picked up her hearing aids and put them into her ears. Once certain she could hear her, she spoke. "You sure you're gonna be alright to come to school today?"

Imogen nodded. "I think it's passed." She said softly, moving slowly to get her uniform just in case she did need to run again.

"Well go get ready in there just in case." Dynasty told her, nodding to the door. "I'm sure Connor knows you gotta get ready."

"It's not that." Imogen sighed. "It's mum I'm worried about..."

"So go an' talk to 'er when you're dressed. It's only..." she checked her phone. "Twenty past."

Imogen looked to her friend, scared.

"I'll be 'ere. If she said anythin' 'orrible when she found the test she didn't mean it, okay? She's your mum, an' a damn sight better than mine. An' also when she goes on about the dad needin' to step up you can tell 'er about you an' Connor."

Imogen listened to her and nodded. "That's sort of what he said yesterday before you went."

"Oh so 'e has got a brain? Shame 'e didn't use it or lend it to Kevin when they decided to go after Steve-O." Dynasty joked, smirking.

Imogen laughed. "Ugh don't remind me! I could've killed them both!" She smiled and made her way to the bathroom to get herself ready.

Dynasty smiled a little and walked out of the room, making her way down the stairs, into the living area. She smiled again as Sally bid her a good morning.

"Is she okay?" Sally asked.

Dynasty nodded. "Yeah I think so... just scared. She thinks you won't be there." Dynasty answered. "She never said it, but y'can tell."

"What? Of course I'll be there. I'm just upset she didn't wait."

Dynasty was about to tell her about Connor when Imogen opened the door.

Imogen looked at them both with a small smile and walked over. "Mum...can we talk?"

"I'll go make sure I've got everything for school." Dynasty said and left the room.

Sally looked to her daughter. "You know I'll be there for you Imogen."

Imogen shrugged slightly. "I know... it's just... what if I mess up?"

"Every parent does that, Imogen. Nobody gets it right all the time, at any age. I just wish you waited until you had some way of providing for it yourself. But whether you have this baby now or in ten, twenty years from now, it doesn't make you any less of a mother. As long as you can provide a home, food, clothes and more love than you know what to do with, you'll be alright." Sally told her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "And it's a scary time. Your emotions are all over the place, you get cravings that will eventually drive you and everyone else mad! Your body is going through all these changes, preparing you for what's to come."

Imogen nodded, biting her lip. "I'm scared." She admitted.

"You will be. It won't be easy, not by a long shot. You'll worry, even now, when there's not much there yet to call a baby. You'll worry about keeping it safe, whether your best is good enough or not. But nothing, absolutely nothing compares to that feeling of your newborn baby in your arms for the first time, hours of pain and exhaustion is all worth it for that. But one thing, Imogen. And don't lie. Who's the father?"

Imogen listened as her mum spoke and she looked up with wide eyes. She thought for a moment. "It's Connor..." she said quietly.

"What?! Imogen what the hell were you thinking?! After what he did!"

"I know what he did mum... and so does he." Imogen bit her lip again.

"Get him on the phone, now."

Imogen sighed and took her phone from her pocket and looked for Connor's number and pressed the call button.

By the third ring Connor answered. "Imogen? You okay?"

"Uh yeah... mum wants a word..." she told him.

"You told her didn't you?" He asked.

"Yeah." She admitted.

"Okay put her on." He sighed.

Imogen handed the phone to her mother.

"I thought I told you to stay away from her!" Sally snapped.

"I'm sorry, but we love each other. I know you don't wanna hear it and I'm the last person you want to speak to. But I love her. And I'll stand by her, I'll be there for her and the baby." Connor told her.

"You better do, and if you mess this up I swear you'll know about it."

"Mum please!" Imogen pleaded, reaching for her phone.

"I won't mess up. I love her more than anything in the world." Connor spoke. "Can I talk to her now please."

Sally made a noise before handing the phone back to her daughter.

Imogen sighed and left the room, phone to her ear again. "Sorry..."

"Don't worry about it." He said. "I mean it, I'll be there for the both of you. I know I don't get much from it but whatever I get from my saturday job I'll keep aside for the stuff we'll need." He told her.

Imogen smiled a little. "Yeah...that'll help a bit." She said. "I'll...see you in school."

"Yeah alright." Connor said. "Are you okay?"

"Just a bit...all over the place." She admitted. "I'll be fine. Love you."

"Love you too." He smiled and hung up.

Dynasty was waiting, bag in hand half way up the stairs, and held Imogen's bag out to her.

Imogen took the bag from her and left the house with her friend.

"Babe are you okay?" Dynasty asked.

Imogen shrugged. "If she can react like that over a baby, how the hell is she gonna react over us being married?"

Dynasty sighed. "At least she told him to step up. It's not like she banned 'im from seein' you or the kid."

Imogen nodded. "Yeah I suppose..."

The two took a slow walk toward the school, continuing conversatiosn as they walked.
