'Morning. Or should I say Dusk?'
Adam opened his eyes. It felt like an eternity since he was last awake.
He looked around and saw that Saeko was the only one still on the couch, having moved to the other side of the sectional and was covered by a blanket.
Adam slowly sat up and stretched his achy joints.
'This is what mummies must feel like when they wake up from being asleep for a few hundred or so years...'
Adam got up and snuck through the house, to find that he was the only one currently awake. Kim had crawled into the bed and was sleeping soundly; Lily on the other hand... 'Well she looks comfortable..'
Lily was sprawled out halfway on the bed, with her lower half on the bed and her upper half hanging off the foot of the bed. Her shirt was riding up, but not enough to show anything thankfully.
'Meh, might as well let her sleep..'
Adam walked out of the apartment and up to the roof for some fresh air. He looked across the skyline at the city in all of it's entirety.
Just then, Adam heard something in the distance. It sounded somewhat like a song or something.
He sighed a little bit and pulled his hood up. 'Might as well...'
He leaped from wall to wall, fire exit to broken window, stopped, and listened. "Only evidence... police sketch... mask..." 'Strange?...'
Adam dropped down to the alley below and slowly walked into the open door into a kind of derelict and rundown looking apartment building.
Adam crept closer to the sound of the music until he came to a door that was open about halfway.
Inside was, as expected, a kind of crummy apartment, but there was one thing in the room that drew attention to itself.
It was a small stereo system that appeared to be playing the song.
Adam slowly walked closer to the stereo and inspected it. It appeared to be expensive, especially for this apartment.
He pondered how something like this could call this place home. 'Drug dealers?...' Adam looked over to his right towards a faint smell. 'Why didn't I smell this earlier?... Maybe because it's such a common smell in this city now...' Adam pulled a blanket back to reveal a rotting corpse. It was clutching what seemed to be something like an AK47. 'Most likely drug dealers. No way a civilian could get their hands on a gun like this in this big of a city without it being illegal.' "Let's watch this city burn, from the skylines on top of the world..." It was still playing when Adam walked back over to the stereo system and glanced back at the corpse. 'Don't mind me.' He looked at the stereo and smiled a bit. Quite a bit. "Finders keepers..."
Adam walked back into the apartment with his newfound toy. It didn't have too many wires, just one actually, the plug-in. Adam was about to turn the corner towards the living room when he felt a pair of eyes burning into the back of his neck.
He slowly turned to face whatever was staring at him and saw Lily.
He couldn't tell why but he felt anger and annoyance radiating from her.
She walked up to him and stared him down. "He..hey Lil- HMPH!"
Adam recoiled from getting punched in the gut. By Lily. Lily. Punched him. Gut. Ouchies.
Adam was partially bent over from the surprisingly strong punch from her and slowly opened one eye to find himself eye to eye with her, only a few inches apart. The silence between them was broken by her stomach growling.
"Fo..Food?..." He said in pain. In turn, Lily head up ten fingers in between their faces, then put her hands down. A few seconds passed in silence, then Lily, with a murderous look in her eyes, put her right foot and fist back as if she was about to punch him in the gut again, but harder this time.
Much, much harder.
"O-o-okay! I-I'm on it!" He quickly set the stereo onto the floor and ran past her into the kitchen, pulling pots and pans out to make breakfast for everyone.
While he was getting everything ready for cooking he felt her eyes on his neck again, and when he glanced back for a second she was peaking around the corner with a ravenous stare. Adam quickly looked back around and worked harder.
He heard more footsteps but didn't look.
Kim woke to the sounds of metal clanging together, groggily got up and walked towards the kitchen to see Lily staring in at something. Saeko was walking towards it too and they both looked in to see Adam working hard at making some sort of food.
Weird.
