Over the next few days, Sally had barely said a bad word toward Connor, which Imogen was thankful of. She was starting to hope it was a step in the right direction and that she could have both her mother and her husband, and not have to, in a way, choose between the two. She knew that neither one of them would make her choose, but it was the way she felt.

She had another issue on her hands however, when she learned that Steve-O, Dynasty's ex boyfriend, was now hanging around, and the way Connor had been acting, secretive, looking worried, it didn't take her long to work out he was being threatened, although he wouldn't tell her himself. It was, however, proved to her at lunch time, when she saw the two of them talking, and she had walked over to find out what was being said. She felt Connor grab hold of the back of her coat as she stepped forward but she ignored it. "He's more of a man than you will ever be." She spoke.

"Come on, he's not worth it." Connor told her and pulled her away by the arm.

"You can't let him speak to you like that!" Imogen told him when they were far enough away from him. "Why let him?"

"Cause… it's complicated…" Connor sighed.

"Is he threatenin' you?" Imogen asked, looking at him.

Connor couldn't look her in the eye. Couldn't bear to read the questions evident in her eyes.

"He is isn't he? And it's somethin' to do with that truck isn't it."

"Just stay away from him, Imogen, he's bad news. Let me deal with him." Connor told her, finally looking at her. "If he wants to threaten anyone, let it be me, if he hurt you I wouldn't be able to forgive myself."

Imogen's gaze softened. He really was scared, and worried about keeping her safe. "Okay…" Imogen sighed softly, leaning up and kissed him gently. "Okay I'll stay away."

Connor sighed in relief, kissed her back and hugged her tightly. It took everything within him to stop himself running with her there and then. To get as far away from that psycho as possible, do everything he could to keep her safe, cause God knows he needed to, after everything he put her through before.

'At least I he finds your marriage certificate he can't use it against you.' The voice inside his head had told him. Of which he took comfort from. As long as Imogen stayed away, she would not be harmed. She would not be dragged into his mess.

"Come on, break's nearly over. We'd better be goin'." Imogen said softly.

Connor nodded, and, keeping his arm around her, keeping her as close as possible, he walked with her back toward the school, and to their next lesson, which happened to be English with his mother. He knew he had to focus now, he already had his wife questioning him, he didn't need his mother on his case too.

Imogen looked over at Dynasty as they reached the classroom and she gave her a smile. "I'm just gonna go talk to Dynasty before we go in." she told him, giving him her best reassuring smile before walking over to her friend. "Hey…"

Dynasty looked up again as Imogen spoke. "Oh..hey."

Imogen looked confused. Something didn't seem quite right. "You alright?"

"Yeah, course. " Dynasty answered, looking at her. "I'm fine!" she told her when she saw that her friend wasn't convinced.

"Okay, only if you're sure." Imogen nodded, not convinced but she let it drop. "How's your family takin' Kevin then?"

"Mum isn't, she's listenin' to our Barry and she thinks he's no good, reckons I should get back with Steve-O."

"So she'd rather you be intimidated by some bloke rather than someone who actually wants to take care of you?" Imogen questioned.

"Yeah but he'd look after me, look after the family. He's been good to me dad while they were inside…"

"Sounds like you've already made your choice." Imogen looked at her, then over to where Kevin and Connor stood.

"Right you lot, in you come, take your seats in your pairs." Christine told the group as she appeared at the door. She stood aside as everyone started to pile into the room, and take their seats. She resisted the urge to shake her head when she saw Kevin and Connor take their seats at the table next to Dynasty and Imogen. "We're going to be continuing with your projects on the poets we were discussing last lesson." She told the class. "So if you could take out your books, and in your pairs, carry on, and I'll be asking you questions before the end of the lesson." She added, and sat down at her desk as everyone got their books out and started working.
