Addy looked up at Loki. Her little green eyes swimming with tears.
"What do you mean daddy?" she asked.
Loki put his hands on her face rubbing his thumbs across her cheeks.
"Mommy isn't coming home princess. She is going to join our ancestors in Valhalla." He said.
She looked down.
"It was the bad men wasn't it?" she said.
"What?"
"The bad men who took Tristan and me. They killed mommy didn't they?" she said softly.
Loki held her tighter.
"Yes princess the bad men did. But I will not let them get you or your brothers. I will protect you." He said.
Loki felt Addy's body start to shake and then he felt her tears falling on him. He held her tight and rocked her. He ran his hands through her brown hair. Loki joined her in her tears. It broke his heart to see his daughter so distraught. What broke his heart even more was Tristan's indifference. He continued to sit there, completely shut down, void of emotion. The twins started to fuss so he picked them up. Addy wiped at her eyes and looked at the twins.
"Here daddy I will take Rowyn." She said.
Loki handed him over and Addy smiled at her baby brother.
"I'm going to tell them all about mommy one day." She said.
Loki kissed his sweet daughter's forehead.
"That would be lovely princess. Come on lets go see grandma and get you some breakfast." He said.
Loki knew that their lives were forever changed but that they also must go on. He couldn't stop life because Amelia was gone. His children needed stability and that stability started with breakfast. It was a small trivial thing but it was a step towards creating normalcy. His children were still young and did not understand the full gravity of the situation yet. He would do his best to make sure they were happy. They all got dressed and headed down to the dining hall for breakfast.

Amelia took in her surroundings. She knew she was on Asgard in the healing rooms but no one was here. She looked down and frowned at her blood stained clothing. Oh this would not do. She closed her eyes and when she opened them again she was wearing a black flowing gown that quite resembled something Maleficent would wear. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Oh no this ragtag appearance would not do at all. She stood up from the table. She felt powerful and strong. Her feet barely touched the ground as she walked silently and unseen down the hall. She entered one of the guest rooms and locked the door behind her. She could feel her power and her malice surging through her, but it could wait. She certainly would not appear threatening covered in her own blood.
Amelia ran a bath and stripped out of her gown. She climbed into the bath and let the water cover her. When she was done she stepped out of the water and toweled off. She manifested another black gown. This one was leather and lace. She took a look at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were completely black, there was no trace of the green that they used to be. Her brown hair was gone, replaced by hair as white as snow. She pulled half of it back and left the other half hanging down her back. She painted her lips red as blood and took a good look at herself. Oh yes this was going to be fun. But how to surprise Loki? There were so many ways but she settled on one. She left the room and walked back down the hall. Her leather boots clacked on the marble but was heard only to her. She was silent and stealthy. She opened the door to the bedroom and stepped inside. Patience would be her companion.

Loki did not have an appetite. He held Rowyn while Frigga held Langley. Addy hummed while she ate. Tristan ate silently, his movement minimal. Loki felt drained. He was only a few hours into his first day as a single father and he already wanted to give up. He kept looking to his right expecting Amelia to be sitting beside him. He kept reaching out his hand to grab hers only to remember that it wasn't there. The seat next to him felt so empty. He turned his back to it so he did not have to see it.
Frigga watched her son's turmoil. Though he tried to hide it, she could see it in his face. She could see the way his eyes were dull and his movements were muted. The occasional smiles that he gave to his children did not reach his eyes the way they used to. His every expression and movement was pained. She could not even imagine the suffering that he was going through. Watching his wife die in his arms was going to haunt him for the rest of his life. Frigga knew he would never abandon his children but he would never again be the father that he used to be. Amelia had been a godsend for Loki. When the world looked so bleak for Loki her light had come in. Amelia had given Frigga her son back. With her gone Frigga worried Loki would once again be lost to her. She looked away from her son when a group of guards hurriedly entered the room.
"My Queen." The leader said bowing.
"Yes what is it?" she asked
"The healers have reported that Lady Amelia's body is gone." He said.
Loki's head snapped up. "What?"
"My prince the room where your wife's body was being held is empty. There is no sign of it anywhere."
Loki handed Rowyn to Frigga and stormed down the hall. He boots thundered down the hallway. He sounded more like Thor than he did himself. He entered the healing room where a group of healers were standing around looking distraught.
"Tell me." He said.
They told of how they came in and discovered the room to be empty. All of the rooms had been searched and there was no sign of her body or of anyone coming in and taking it. Loki paced the room.
"Search the entire palace, the whole of Asgard! I want her body found! Now!" he yelled.
Everyone scurried away from him. They all remembered the wrath of Loki and did not want to experience that again. Loki headed down the hall to their personal chambers. He stopped and told Thor and Jane what was going on. Thor left to join the search. Loki continued to his chambers to get something that he needed. He stopped outside his door. There was a strange yet vaguely familiar feeling going through him. He could feel a power that he recognized yet it was morphed. It was dark. He opened the door and stepped inside. When he looked up there was a woman sitting at his desk. She was reading a book and kept reading even as he entered. Her hair was the brightest shade of white and contrasted her black gown pooling down around her. She sat across the chair like show owned it. Her back was against one arm rest and her one leg was slung across the other. She finally looked up at him and he saw her eyes. They were as black as coal, not a speck of white in them, her lips blood red. Her face was familiar yet these features were wrong. It took Loki only a second to realize who this was. It was Amelia. She smiled a devilish grin at him, her white teeth contrasting the red of her lips.
"Hello husband. Did you miss me?" she said.
So I saw Maleficent last night and it was amazing! She has always been my favorite Disney character! Anyways I modeled Amelia's outfit and her demeanor after her! And definitely her laugh! So if you are familiar with Maleficent then you have a better picture of what is in my head! If you are not familiar with Maleficent then clearly you have been living under a rock and need some culture! Anyways thanks for reading! Reviews are always appreciated!
