"Come on Addy you can do it." Amelia said holding out her arms.
Loki was holding Addy by her hands. She was standing on her wavering legs gently tapping her feet against the ground. Loki let go of one hand.
"Go on princess. Go to mommy." He said.
Amelia wiggled her fingers at Addy. She was only a few steps away from her.
"You can do it baby girl. Come on." Amelia said.
Loki gently let go of Addy's hand. She wobbled but he kept his hands back. She took one step and then another. One more step and she flopped into Amelia's waiting arms. Amelia held on tight to her and Loki came down with them. They held Addy in between them and hugged her.
"Good job Addy. You are such a big girl." Amelia said kissing her cheeks.
Addy was smiling with pride at her parents' adoration. Loki and Amelia each took one of Addy's hands and then took each other's. Inside their little circle the room glowed blue and green.
"The power of three." Amelia said smiling.
Loki smirked. "So your tattoo wasn't quite so meaningless after all."
"Yeah I guess not."
Amelia stood up and took Addy a few steps away. Loki stayed on the ground and held out his arms. Amelia set Addy up then let go.
"Go Addy. Go get daddy."
Present Day
Thor slammed to a stop in the middle of the hallway. He looked at Loki.
"What?" he asked.
"It is Amelia. The Frost Giants, they did something to her. She is not herself." Loki replied as he came to a stop next to him.
"What are we going to do?" Thor asked
The sound of screaming permeated through the castle. Loki took a deep breath and looked Thor in the eyes.
"We have to stop her."
…
Amelia walked through the city. The chaos around her made her smile. Citizens ran screaming from the ice she left in her path. She could feel the mood of Asgard change. This perfect city was being turned to ice and dust. She surveyed her destruction and laughed. Her laugh carried through the empty ice covered streets. The only power capable of even coming close to stopping her was Loki and she had already witnessed he did not have it in him to kill her. This face that she wore was the perfect choice. She caught a glimpse of herself in the ice on the sidewalk. Her hair and her eyes were different. Would it not be even more of a blow to the kingdom if she did look like herself? Their beloved princess turned against them. Her hair returned to its long brown waves and the black orbs changed to the hazel shade they had been before. She smirked and continued on her path. Time to visit her children.
…
Loki stood in the hallway with Thor. He couldn't find the strength to move forward. He could hear the screams of his people but could not figure out what to do. He couldn't kill her, he just couldn't.
"Thor, you go. Our people need you. I will deal with Amelia." Loki said.
"Brother, are you sure?"
"Yes, brother, go." Loki said "I have an idea."
Thor took off running towards the sounds of icy wind and screaming. Loki ran to the rainbow bridge. He had one idea and he hoped desperately that it would work. He knew there was no way he could kill his wife and he knew he could not let her destroy the city. His only hope was that he could change her back, and he couldn't do it alone.
