UPDATE: Long awaited and most procrastinated chapter ever. I hope you like it. The story will slow down since I noticed my writing has been choppy and too fast.

ONTO THE STORY!

Applejack was sitting in the hospital next to Granny, who laid in the bed. Her skin was turning more pale every day and looked sicker by the minute. Doctors came in, to and fro, to check her vitals and if her body was functioning properly.

Applejack caressed her cold hand and began humming a lullaby she listened to before she went to bed as a kid. Granny lifted a smile and looked over at Applejack.

"Thank ya dear, but think it's about time ya go on home, ya've been here fo' days. Ya gotta get ta school and do good."

"But Granny I…"

"Shh. Just head on home. I'll take care of these ol' doctors."

Applejack grinned as she slowly stood from her small chair. She grabbed her bag and began for the door but still held Granny's hand. Before they were just out of reach, Applejack turned as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"See ya Granny…" The tear fell and splashed onto the ground as Applejack turned and left the room.

Rainbow sat at the lunch table with Rarity. She bounced her leg n her toe and began tapping the table with her fork.

Rarity looked over as the movements began to bother her.

"Rainbow darling, whatever is the problem?"

"Where the hell is everyone?"

"Well Pinkie and Fluttershy are making get well things for Granny Smith, Twilight is still off doing her own thing, and Applejack hasn't been here for a few days."

"I know, but it's just weird."

"What do you mean?"

"Everyone isn't here. Ever since Applejack and I came out, everyone has been off doing there own thing and Twilight hasn't been here in fucking forever."

"I guess they just need to acclimate to the situation still."

"Well you seem to have done just that. Why hasn't any of this shit bothered you?"

Rarity stopped sketching one of her dresses and slowly placed the charcoal piece down. Sweat formed at her brow and she began swallowing harder.

"Well, I-I uh...I guess…I..I." She looked over to see Rainbow staring right at her.

"I gotta go." Rarity swepped her items into her bag and walked hastily to the exit.

"Huh.." Rainbow took a bite of her sandwich and stood from her table.

She tossed the rest of her lunch in the trash can and entered the hallway. It was mostly empty. Only kids that came back from lunch or the ones who are leaving populated the hallway.

Rainbow walked over to her locker and punched under the handle, knocking it open.

"Heh...Still got it." She began to swing her backpack off her shoulder but heard a thud.

She looked over and saw papers fly up and heard a thud on the ground.

"What the?" She moved her locker door to see Spike on the ground rubbing his hip.

"Spike?"

"Oh hey. Sorry."

"What are you doing?"

"Just bringing papers to Twilight." He leaned up and began collecting papers on the ground.

Rainbow knelt down and helped him.

"Speaking of Twilight...Where has she been?"

Spike stopped and looked over at Rainbow.

"Ok, listen. I'm only telling you this because I know you're loyal and don't spread rumors. She's been keeping her distance between the group and her. Everyday she tells me to bring paper to the library and to make sure you guys aren't looking for her. All of this new stuff going around: Soarin boasting, Spits dead, and you and AJ…..It's just changed everything.."

Spike collected the rest of the papers and stood up.

"I don't like it, and I'm sure you guys don't either...but...but..Twi...She…"

"SPIKE!" Twilight turned the corner yelling his name.

"Oh well there you are. Let-" She looked over and saw Rainbow.

"Well hey there Twilight.." Rainbow grinned and slammed her locker closed.

She didn't respond and dragged Spike down the hallway and back into the library.

"I wonder what Spike wanted to say…." Rainbow slipped her backpack on and headed for math.

The classroom was particularly full that day. Since it was a new semester, kids moved classrooms for the new year. Since math was Rainbow's strongest suit, she didn't have to transfer.

People filed into every empty seat until only one was left. Rainbow searched the room but had no luck in spotting Applejack. The bell rang and quieted the crowd as the teacher entered the room.

"Good mor-"

"Sorry Sorry,...Hey, I'm here." Applejack came sprinting in and nearly ran into the teacher.

"Ah, Applejack...You're late…"

"Sorry, I just came back from the hospital.."

"Good excuse. Take a seat."

Rainbow had reserved a seat for Applejack everyday, even when she wasn't there for the longest time. She saw Applejack look around and began tapping the seat. Applejack turned and smiled, making her way over.

"Hey there. Took ya long enough.." Rainbow smiled as she pulled a math textbook out of her backpack.

"Ya...Thanks Rainbow." She smiled and pulled out her book, slamming it on the desk.

The teacher stood up and opened his mouth, but heard his phone go off before he spoke. He answered the phone and walked out of room. After a while he returned and slammed his phone shut.

"I have to leave class, Professor Discord will take my place this hour as I am gone. Behave." He glanced over at Rainbow who lifted her arms and gave a face.

He smiled and exited the room. Not soon after Discord walked in.

"Helllllooooo class. As you know, I am Discord. I will teach you today." He smiled and shoved papers out of his hands.

"JUST KIDDING!" He laughed as he pulled a desk over and layed on it.

"What I really want to do is find out what all this gossip is about that people are throwing around in the halls.

Kids looked around and giggled. They knew what he was talking about, and so did Rainbow and Applejack.

"So Rainbow and Applejack…" Discord looked up at them and grinned.

"Care to share?..."
