"Still fits…" Rainbow took the battered cap off the worn desk next to her.
She walked upstairs and looked around the large mansion. Visions filled her eyes with images of the past.
"It's just one more mission Rainbow. Last one. I promise. I'll be back next month. Take care of the house..."
She looked over to the front door that was teetering in the light breeze coming into the home.
"Ms. Dash? Yes, telegram. I regret to inform your household of a loss. Your father was killed in action last week. I'm dearly sorry."
"We don't know. She doesn't have parents. She's just a kid... The job of our police badge isn't to babysit kids. I mean c'mon, look what she did to her own house, everything is destroyed."
Rainbow shook walked out to her backyard, where everything seemed like summer. The pool still had it's cover, but everything was the way she remembered it. The green, artificial grass. The swings. Even the small fire pit.
While glancing around, she noticed two areas where the turf didn't cover. She walked over and saw two tombstones planted into the ground.
"A beloved mother and a beloved father."
"Hi mom...Hi dad."
Rainbow heard crunching behind her and glanced over. Applejack walked over next to the rainbow haired girl and put her arm around her shoulder.
"Tomorrow is either going to be the day you see their graves, or will be next to them."
"Yup."
"I think your dad would've let us date...Heh. MAYBE."
"Heheh. He was definitely into that kind of shit. That man knew what he was doing."
"Rainbow...No matter what happens on that field...I will always love you."
"Same here cowgirl...I wouldn't be able to live without you."
"Now, let's get crackin'." Discord looked at the room full of kids and pointed to the opening.
"It's time to train."
All of them shuffled out and met out on the field, where obstacle courses and targets were set up.
"Now we don't have all day. Soarin and his team are up at his house for the night, they'll be back tomorrow." Luna slapped on a helmet and shouted. "LET'S GO!"
They formed rows and began sprints back and forth. At the end of each length, a gun would be resting on a box. They'd take a shot, reload it, and run back.
Rainbow was watching each one and critiquing their work. She glanced over and noticed Vinyl walking into her van.
"Applejack, take over. I'll be back."
She walked over and ripped the door open to see Vinyl blow torching a speaker.
"Hey man! That's a new door! Oh, hey Rainbow. What shall give me thine honor of esteemed royalty?" Vinyl stepped back and curtseyed to Rainbow Dash.
"Shut the fuck up Vinyl. We have a war on our hands. What are you doing here?"
"Well, for one, HELPING YOU WIN, and also hooking up this huge sub to my van. Octi is over their making sure the police won't show up at the brawl. HOW'S IT GOING OCITI?!"
Octavia leaned up and pulled off headphones playing classical music.
"Oh, well I've planned seventeen calls outward to towns across the county away from the school. There won't be a cop within fifty miles of this place."
"Well...Alright, just make sure you're ready for the fight."
"PFFTT." Vinyl waved off Rainbow and went back to work.
She stepped from the van and walked over to Twilight.
"How's it looking?"
"By these numbers, we could pull it out...Maybe…" Twilight put a pencil behind her ear and grabbed a calculator.
"...Egghead..Heh, still funny after all these years."
"It really isn't Rainbow, you need new jokes…"
"Like your social life?"
"Props, RD...Props."
Rainbow smiled and walked off.
"RAINBOW! RAINBOW!" Applejack sprinted over to Rainbow and grabbed her.
"It's you mansion Rainbow! They've burned it!"
People glared upon the large fire that encircled the house. Windows and doors shattered from the flames that engulfed it.
"...Those sons of bitches. How'd they find it?"
"Looks like you told Gilda a little too much. By standers state that boys in letter jackets were seen driving from the seen with kerosene."
"Alright, thank you Twi."
Rainbow walked around the house and kicked open the gate to the backyard. She weaved through the flames until she got to the tombstones, which were left untouched.
"It's just one more mission Rainbow. Last one. I promise. I'll be back next month. Take care of the house..." Rainbow whispered the words to herself and turned around.
Every inch of the mansion was coated in fire.
"Alright dad...Here I go."
She busted out of the backyard and stood on top of Applejack's truck.
"HEY EVERYONE."
People looked over at the girl standing upon the old truck.
"This is what they want. A fire. Well you can be damn well sure I'm using the fires they set here as fuel for mine. Soarin thinks he is tough with fire and sneak attacks before the brawl...So let's give 'em an equal fight. He thinks we're weak. He thinks Gilda will be a strong asset. Fuck him. These past weeks have shown me what we're capable of, and I'm for certain they aren't even close to us. We are better than anyone of those preppy, inconsiderate, and heartless jocks."
She stepped down from the roof and landed on the bed.
"NOW, LET'S SHOW THEM!"
Cheers filled the air around them as they screamed and hollard.
"Soarin are you sure they aren't going to fight back?"
"Heh, this battle will end before it starts. The trick my friends is to believe in yourself by kicking the living shit out of your opponent."
He received laughs from the group.
"Get ready for tomorrow boys...It'll be a night to remember."
"Hey Soarin, you better come see this!"
Soarin stepped from his seat and gradually walked over to the back door.
"Dude, what could be so imp-." He looked over at the leafless oak tree, that had no tombstone.
"She's gone, but theres a note in the whole."
Soarin grabbed the note from the jock and read it aloud.
"You wanted retaliation, and you got it. A body for two. What the fuck does she mean by that?"
"Maybe it's something to do with clothes…"
"Shut the fuck up Donny."
"She deserves to be here. It's what she would've wanted…" Rainbow placed in the tombstone and filled the edges with dirt.
She stood up and looked at the lone object in the middle of the track's field.
"Let's go." Applejack grabbed Rainbow and walked her to the truck.
"Rainbow, I don't think we're ready."
"We are, trust me. Let's get out there. LET'S GO!"
Rainbow pushed open the gym doors and lead a fleet of teens onto the field. Thunderstruck above as they lined up across the grass.
"Where are they?" Luna stepped up to the line and put her headphones around her neck.
"There…" Rarity pointed to the end of the field, where a wall of people approached them.
"Oh look, they even have matching uniforms! How cute!" Soarin wielded a bat and put a cap over his head.
"Cute?! I'll have you kn-."
"Save it for the fight." Twilight put her arm in front of the girl.
"Oh. It. Is. On!"
"You can back down anytime!" Gilda looked at Rainbow and smirked.
"I've backed down for too long now. It's time to stand." Rainbow adjusted her father's cap on her head and grabbed a pistol.
"Your loss." Brass knuckles emerged from Gilda's pocket and fit snugly on her fingers.
"Well Apples. Let's do it."
"I'm here all the way to the end."
The two sides waited in the now heavy rain. After a while, they advanced toward each other.
"Forgive me father." Rainbow jumped and laid a punch on Gilda.
