Charlie lay with her hands on her stomach, staring up at the ceiling. Her brother had just brought her in some food, but she wasn't hungry. She knew she should eat because of the baby, but she couldn't keep anything down, and she didn't need her brother questioning her any more than he already was. It had been three days since Abel was taken by Cameron, three long and emotional days. Everyone important had flown to Ireland, secretly of course, because of the pending investigation the Sons were in, everyone but her. He's not your son, the words Jax had said to her repeated over and over in her head, her heart heavy. She had been home for about three and a half months and everything had gone to shit, maybe she should leave, not be here when they got back. He was never going to forgive her anyway, not after this. She rubbed her stomach and sat up, "I have to do what's best for you little peanut…" she sighed.

Jax sat on the couch in Belfast, a beer in his hand, his head spinning. He was waiting for the address of where Abel was, it was a long drawn out unnecessary process but he was getting his son back. As he sat back and thought about his son, his thoughts drifted back to Charlie. He was such a dick to her, not that he remembers a lot of it, but his mom ripped him a new one, but she didn't even know the half of it. No one knew that she was pregnant, not that he knew of any way. Right before he was going to tell Piney and Opie was when he had gotten the call from Cameron. He shook the memories from his head and looked at his phone; he hadn't even called her to let her know they were getting Abel back…or to see how she was. He was just about to hit the send button and let the phone dial her number, when it started to ring. "Meet us at dis address and we'll give you yer son back." He heard Jimmy O' drawl in his Irish accent. "He better be there Jimmy." Jax threatened and hung up the phone. He was tired of fucking around; he just wanted his son back.

Charlie had her bags packed and everything was ready to go; now all she had to do was distract her brother so she could figure out a way to leave. She felt like she should tell Opie what was going on, but she didn't want him to have to choose between the two of them, brother and sister, the club would always come first and she knew that, she learned that growing up. Luckily, sneaking out of the house all the time when she was younger to go see Jax had taught her quite a few things. She tossed her bags out the window near her car, so he wouldn't see her with her bags. Once she made sure she had everything she wrote Jax a little note.

My Dearest Jackson,

I will never be able to express the deep agonizing guilt that I feel for letting your son get taken. I was silly for thinking that I would be able to protect…our family… and that's why I left. I can't risk anything happening to the child we made. Don't look for me…I'll be okay. Once I know everything's okay…I'll contact you and we can figure out something out at that point. Please give Abel a hug and kiss from me, and tell him (if you want) that I love him. Tell my brother and father, that I had to do it this way…I had no other option. I love you so much Jackson.

Your forever love,

Charlie.

Tears poured down her cheeks as she left the note in his underwear drawer, knowing that when her brother noticed she left, he wouldn't look for anything in there. After she composed herself and made sure that she looked okay she grabbed her iPod and walked out of the room. When she made her way to the living room she saw Opie passed out on the couch, an empty bottle of whiskey in his hand. She put another note next to her brother carefully.

Brother Bear (something no one else knew they called each other, a way to prove that it was really her writing this note) Please don't look for me…I'm safe, I promise. I'll contact you when I get a chance. Love you. -Goldilocks.

She leaned down carefully and kissed his head before turning around and grabbed her keys and made her way out the door. Once she was in her car, she just drove, tears running down her cheeks once again, her mind racing, wondering if she just made the right choice. About four hours later, she felt herself starting to get hungry and tired. She found a small little hotel and rented a room for a night, once she was settled in the room she found something to eat, the first thing she really ate in days. By the time the food was set in her stomach, she was fast asleep, all the stress and worry finally taking over.

Jax and everyone were just about to get on the plane back, they had Abel, he was safe, he was healthy, and they were going home. He had just handed off his son to his mom when his phone started to ring. He half hoped it was Charlie so he could tell her that everything was fine and they would be home soon, but when he looked at the Caller ID, he saw that it was Ope. "Hey brother, we're heading home now, should be home soon." He said cheerfully into the phone. But his cheerful disposition changed as soon as he heard Opie speak. Jax hit the side of the plane with his fist before rubbing his hand down his face. Everyone gathered around him, confused about what was going on. "I'll find her Ope." He ground out, obviously getting annoyed by whatever Opie was saying to him on the other side of the line. He hung up on him and threw his phone at the plane, breaking it into several pieces. His mother came up to him, and Clay put his hand on his shoulder "What's wrong son?" Jax looked at everyone, sadness in his eyes once again "Charlie left…no one knows where she is."

-Four Months Later—

Charlie was now visibly showing under her waitress uniform, her five month along stomach was now no longer able to be hidden. All her regulars would ask her about the father, and how she felt, what she was having, when she was due, the typical questions you'd get from people you saw almost every day for three months straight. Charlie had settled in a little town on the border of Nevada and Arizona, about three months ago, got a job as a waitress in the small town, where she was living. She had found a place to stay with this little old couple who ran a bed and breakfast; they had listened to her situation, and took her in like she was their own child. Every once in a while, she would drive 50 miles away and call her brother or her father from a payphone, and every time they would beg her to come home, they told her how horrible Jax had done since she left, and that they missed her.

One time Gemma had stolen the phone from her brother and had yelled at her through the phone, telling her she was selfish and that keeping her unborn grandbaby away from her was horrible and yaddah yaddah yaddah, the typical Gemma guilt trip. But Charlie couldn't let it change her mind, she couldn't go home until she was sure she was ready to put her child…their baby girl…. through that kind of life. She had just found out yesterday that she was having a healthy little girl, and it made her lonely past few months' worth it.

"Now you listen here Charlotte, if you get tired at all you just sit down and rest those pretty little feet of yours ya hear?" her boss and close friend Henrietta told her as she handed her a tray to take to table to six. "and you be careful, table six looks a little rough around the edges, if you need any help just yell for Roberto and he'll come right from the back and boot them out" Charlie chuckled and shook her head, "Don't worry about me Henny, I have an older brother, I know how to take care of myself…"

Charlie grabbed the tray that had three glasses of coffee on it and turned around, however when she turned around she wasn't expecting to see the three people in front of her. Jax, her father, and Ope sat at the round table in the middle of the room, staring at her. She dropped the tray onto the ground and just looked at them. How had they found her? Of course they found her…what was Jax going to do to her? What were her brother and dad going to do to her? Charlie had so many questions running through her head, and the last thing she saw before everything went black was Jax's look of worry as he caught her.

Jax had been broken since they got home, he couldn't even be happy that they had Abel home because now his girlfriend and unborn child were gone. He was glad that Abel was safe, but now he had to focus on bringing Charlie home, and of course he had to explain that she was pregnant to everyone, otherwise no one would understand his reasoning behind anything. The next four months were the slowest days of his life, every week he would wait for Opie or Piney to tell him that Charlie had called and that she was alright. Everyone had assumed that he would dive neck-deep into pussy, beer, and weed, but he couldn't. He was so focused and determined on finding her, that he didn't even have time to think about any of that, however he did go through almost a pack of smokes a day to try to calm his nerves. Ever since they got home, he had gotten Juice on finding her, anything about where she might have gone. For the first three months there was nothing, not a hit on her name, her phone, her credit cards…nothing. It was like he had hit a dead-end, and he was never going to find her. But then two things happened, they tracked the pay phone that she was using to call Piney and Opie to a 50 mile radius, and a name popped up in one of Juice's searches, a Charlotte Montgomery. Montgomery was Mary, Opie and Charlie's mom's, maiden name.

Jax thought it was too much of a coincidence so he decided to check it out, and that's how they found the diner, and ultimately, that's how they found Charlie. Jax's heart almost stopped when she had turned around, her strawberry blonde hair in curls pulled back but falling around her face, her stomach obviously full with their child. Then he saw her turn ghost white, and he knew she was going to faint. He got up and made his way to her as quickly as he could, sliding so that he could catch her. Once he had her safe in his arms, and Piney and Ope were around them as they sat on the floor. "I got you…" He whispered softly, pushing her hair out of her face, hoping that things could only get better from here.
