Searching for the Mask of Majora
Clock Town
Dawn of the Second Day
48 Hours Remain
The three ran back into North Clock Town, where Link stopped the twins and wriggled his way out of Tael's arms, hitting the ground with a soft thud and pointing his head up toward the sky. The moon was closer, but this purple balloon with a familiar design seemed even closer. He took in a deep breath and let it back out, blowing out a snot bubble and popping the inflatable toy. The young kid shooting smaller spitwads jumped, turning his gaze towards the Deku boy. "Hey!" he cried, stomping over to the green clad boy. "What's the big idea? Y'think you're all that jus' 'cause y'popped a simple balloon?"
"Well, I just wanted to—"
"Wanted ta what? Destroy my fun? Well, I'll make ya a deal. Bombers, assemble!" In a split second there were four more identical boys, dressed in blue, standing in a straight line. "If y'can find us by the sun's risin', then I'll give ya somethin' special, 'kay?" He glared up at Tatl and Tael. "And y'can't use 'em t'help ya. This isn't a game fo'adults t'play."
Link blinked his orange eyes twice. "What?"
"Ready? Go!"
In thirty minutes, Link had found all the Bomber boys and dragged them back to the starting area by the slide where Tatl and Tael sat. The two stood up as the boys pouted. "Aw man!" their leader stomped his foot. "You're too good at hide-an-seek! I can't believe 'm doin' this…" He stood up straight. "M'name's Jim and I'm th' leader o'th' Bomber's Gang. As a reward fo'winnin' our game, y'get the code that'll get ya under the town to the sewer system."
"Why would we need that?" Tael asked quietly, leaning in closer to Tatl, at least until the girl elbowed him in the gut.
The Bombers all gave Link a number, which he took precious time to write into his memory, before bidding him farewell. He sighed and looked up at Tael. "That was nerve wracking."
"What, the game?"
"No, the way that Jim kid talked. Like, goddess, I've never heard such a horrid accent before."
The twins chuckled as they entered East Clock Town again. Link noticed a lone Bomber boy standing in front of what seemed like an entryway to a sewer. He walked up and quickly said the numbers like clockwork. The kid looked surprised. "Oh...Jim lost a game o' hide-an-seek? Shame." And he moved to the side. "Y'can't bring those adults with ya. This is a Bombers only area."
Link looked back at the siblings, before smiling and continuing down the path. "I'll be fine!" he called out. And he entered the sewers.
They stunk. Badly. It wasn't like he was expecting anything different, but still. And there was water everywhere. He had to be extremely careful without Tael or Tatl around to save him. He hopped across the small water way to the platforms layed out, and took a few steps before he was ambushed by a giant spider. In the back of his mind, a voice rang out.
Watch out!
He charged up a quick snot bubble and shot it, trembling when it had no effect.
Its soft belly is its weak point!
Link waited until the spider had turned around, exposing its soft side, and blew another bubble, causing it to fall and combust into blue fire. It left a simple green rupee behind. Link sighed and continued through the hallways, reaching a large balloon, similar to the one he popped for Jim. Smiling, he popped it with ease, climbing up the ladder into a new room, where to his left there was a rainbow staircase.
Piles and piles of boxes lay underneath, as well as a scarecrow who seemed to be dancing? Link walked up to it, poking it. "Hello?"
"Oh? Oh, yes, hello little fellow! Have you come to dance with me? I'm sure you have. Would you like to learn a little secret?"
"Sure," Link replied with a soft smile.
"Yay! I'm Pierre, by the way. I know of a mysterious song that allows you to manipulate the flow of time…, now boy, I can't teach it for you, for I only know this from stories! I heard that if you play that strange song backward, you can slow the flow of time. And if you play each note twice in a row, you can move a half day forward through time. How's that?" He jumped a little bit, and Link giggled. "Pretty interesting, isn't it?"
"Yes, thank you, Pierre. But I must get going now."
"Oh, it was such a pleasure dancing with you, by dear boy!"
"What's going on down there? Pierre, who are you talking to?" a voice asked from above, causing the young Deku to jump in surprise.
A wolf howled in the distance.
The hype for Majora's Mask 3D has never been so real omfg
Yeah. I'm excited. Expect hella updates on this because of that.
I'll put a little trivia about my connection with Zelda games at the end of every chapter from now on, just so you all can see how much this series has impacted me.
Trivia: The reason Majora's Mask sticks with me the best is because it's the first Zelda game I've ever beaten on my own multiple times.
