When Hinata had told him that she wanted to go to that fancy French place at least once, he knew he had to take her there for their anniversary. When he had told her that he had arranged a table for them, he wasn't disappointed by her reaction.
The usually shy woman jumped into his arms, smothering him with kisses.
He had thought that it was absolutely worth it at that point.
But now he wasn't sure anymore.
Standing in front of the waiter he gulped. The waiter already looked very snobbish as he examined the newcomers. Putting on a fake smile, he started "Bonjour and welc' ome chez Le crapaud. Do you 'ave a reservation?". Naruto quickly said his name as he grabbed for his girlfriends hand. Hinata smiled at him as they followed the waiter to their table. Getting a menu, the blonde gulped. Opening it, he saw that his worst fear had come true: Everything was written in this gibberish language. Glancing at Hinata, he saw that she happily read through the menu, as if it was written in her first language. Noticing him staring, the Hyuuga smiled at him.
The blonde nervously smiled back before turning towards the menu.
"Avez-vous decide? " A sudden voice appeared next to him. There stood a waitress, probably here to take their order. He wasn't sure thought because he didn't understand a word she said. Turning towards his companion, he saw her nod with a soft "Oui".
Afterwards, everything was kind of a blur. He heard Hinata speak, but it sounded like fancy nonsense to him. Before he could think about it further, the women both turned towards him. It seemed as if it was his turn now. Gulping, the blonde tried to say the first word he saw on the card.
"c…cuaize dai greyn oile?" he stammered, feeling like a fish out of water. The waitress tilted her head, probably trying to figure out what he wanted to say.
"Are you sure, Naruto-kun? Do you even know what it is?" Hinata asked, more amused than worried.
The whiskered man thought he had heard a pitiful tone in her voice and nodded his head. "Of course!" he lied, not wanting to appear even more uncultured in front of her.
Hinata repeated his order to the waitress, which made Naruto blush in embarrassment.
They hadn't even eaten and he already felt like the biggest idiot in the whole restaurant.
It got even worse after he realized that he had ordered frog's legs.

The next day, Naruto knocked on Shikamarus' bedroom door before letting himself in. "Yo Shikamaru! Get up!" Naruto poked the sleeping man with his foot, earning a sleepy groan. "What'chu want", the dark haired man turned around, sleepily looking at Naruto.
"I need your help" The blonde sat down, scratching the back of his head.
"I was at a fancy French place with Hinata yesterday and it was just terrible. I didn't understand a word while Hinata spoke so fluently. Did you know that she could speak French? I didn't! And I think the waitress made fun of me at some point! It was so embarrassing, not only for me but probably for Hinata too," He complained.
Shikamaru listened as carefully as possible "And what does this have to do with me?" he asked, turning away from his whiskered friend.
"Well I thought that out of my friends you're the most likely to speak French and that you could teach me" Naruto smiled his 100 watt smile, Shikamaru could feel it even without turning around.
Finally sitting up, he glared at Naruto " And why don't you ask Hinata?". The blonde started to move around nervously, "I-I wanted it to be a surprise for her.." he mumbled, quickly continuing "So you're gonna help me or what?".
Shikamaru glared at his blue eyed friend for another minute before sighing "As if I could deny such a request from 'Konohas' hero'". Rubbing his eyes, he didn't see the bone-crushing hug coming from his friend. "THANK YOU"

Hinata had been surprised when Naruto had requested that they go back to that French restaurant. She had thought that he would never even mention the place after their last evening there.
Even thought it probably was a very embarrassing experience for him, she couldn't stop her malicious joy of being better at something than her beloved.
It was a few weeks after that night when he told her that they had an reservation at le crapaud."
Before they walked in, she softly squeezed his hand "Should I do the talking this time?" she asked, not wanting him to feel uncomfortable.
He just smirked at her worried expression and winked "No worries! I've got this"
Walking in, they saw the same waiter standing there. "Bonjour and wel'come chez le crapaud. Vous êtes monsieur Uzumaki?" He seemed to remember him.
The blonde confidently nodded "Oui, j'ai réservée une table pour deux" he grinned, seemingly oblivious to the shocked expression of his petite girlfriend. The rest of the evening, Naruto seemed to brag with his newfound French.
After dinner, they silently walked out of the restaurant. He was enjoying her silent awe.
"So, did you just learn French so you could impress me with it?" she said after a while lifting a brow and listening to his soft chuckling. "Did it work?", he asked her as he nudged her softly.
Smiling, the bluenette stopped walking and softly turned him turn towards her. "It did" she slowly walked into his arms, waiting for them to circle around her waist. "In fact the only thing I can add is: Voulez-vous coucher avec moi monsieur Uzumaki?" The Hyuuga whispered half seductively half jokingly into his ear.
The ending wasn't very good I know ._. I couldn't think of anything better...
I'm sorry if this one has a lot of mistakes. I kinda wrote it in a rush because I wanted to finish it before going to bed;;;
