Regina, the evil queen appeared in a kitchen. There was a warm breeze streaming in from outside, she could hear laughter coming from the door.
"I did it. I left, I won." She smiled. Looked down and saw a few framed photos of her and a boy and …
"Emma?" She touched the photo, but as she did she heard someone coming and quickly changed her appearance to the one in the photo.
"Ha ha very funny kid. Your mom's gunna be…" She looked up and saw Regina. "pissed."
Regina just stared back at her. Where they friends?
Emma walked up to her and planted a kiss on her cheek.
"Babe you look nice. Um don't get made we may have killed your pot. BUT I promise you can use it as an opportunity for a lesson later. Henry really wants you to come play before he heads off to my parents for the weekend. Will you?" Emma gave her puppy dog eyes.
Regina's mind sped to keep up. Babe, she was Emma's what girlfriend? Wife? It was clear she was something important. They must live together.
"Dear I… maybe another time. I was going to get started on… " she looked around. "baking… something." She avoided Emma's gaze.
"well ok. But we better be having something special then." She added with a wink and this time kissed Regina on the lips.
Emma felt Regina stiffen.
"Regina you ok?" Emma put her hand to her cheek.
Regina swallowed hard.
"Yes, I'm sorry" shaking her head, "I'm just tired."
Emma nodded.
"I'll tell Henry to finish packing then and help you with, whatever were baking."
Regina covered fast.
"In my kitchen, I think not." She turned Emma around and pushed her back towards the door.
"oh come on. Regina, I set the oven on fire ONCE just ONCE."
Emma sighed.
"Your beautiful." With that she ran outside and left Regina blushing.
….
Regina had little time. She needed to find out as much as she could about herself here and fast. She ran to the front room. And found pictures of herself, Emma, Henry, Snow, Charming and a baby? Wait she was in a photo with Snow? This made no sense. The door rang. And snow peeked her head in the window and waved.
Snow.
Ok regina stay calm. She told herself.
She took a deep breath and opened the door.
"Hey Regina!" Snow gave her the biggest hug.
"I was so sad that you didn't make it over yesterday and canceled for tomorrow, but I guess Emma wants you all to herself for a while." She leaned back and nudged Regina.
Who just stood there with her lips tightly pressed together and one hand gripping her arm tightly.
"I suppose."
Emma and Henry came in running.
"Kid! No fair!"
Henry ran behind his mom.
"Mom save me Ma is going crazy!" He was laughing loudly and keeping Regina in front of him.
"What? Oh um Emma, stop it."
Henry smiled. Emma mouth 'you little shit'.
"Hey grandma I can't wait to have a weekend with you and grandpa. It's been a while. Can't wait to help with baby Neil." Henry grabbed his bags turned to walk out the door. Then stopped turned back around and pulled Regina in for a big hug.
"Love you mom!" Regina teared up. When was the last time she had been hugged? She couldn't remember. Right before she killed her father?
Choking back a small sob
"Love you too dear."
With that Henry was gone. She was standing there staring at the door lost in thought.
"Regina, it's just for the weekend. He'll be right back." When Emma placed her hand on Regina she visibly flinched.
Emma's mouth was open in surprise.
"I'm sorry, are u … ok?"
Regina gathered herself. "I'm fine dear."
Lying. Emma could read it loud and clear.
"Regina. What were you doing while me and Henry were playing? There is nothing out on the counter."
Emma hoped there was an explanation.
"I…"
"And why were you so freaked out when my mother got here."
"Emma…" Regina took a step away, "I can explain."
"Regina, what is my brother's name?"
Shit Henry had said it.
Busted.
"Who are you?" Emma's eyes went wide. She had kissed her and it had felt wrong of course this wasn't Regina.
Regina broke into a run through the house.
Emma hot on her trail, till Regina took a fatal step locking her ankle and crashing into the hall table with pictures and frames on it, knocking it all onto herself.
She screamed and grabbed her ankle. Emma almost didn't stop either. A frame had scratched Regina's face and her ankle looked a wreck.
"Shit." Regina looked up and quickly tried to push backward away from Emma.
"Stay away from me."
Emma knelt down with her hands raised.
"Hey I'm not going to hurt you. Who are you?"
Regina pushed herself back again and hit the wall. There was nowhere to go. Damn.
She looked back at Emma.
"Regina."
Emma saw the scratches on her face starting to bleed.
"We need to get you cleaned up, you're bleeding."
Regina touched her hand to her face and pulled away blood.
Emma grabbed her hand.
"It's OK. I'll fix it. Grab around my neck and push up on your good leg ok? We will get you cleaned up."
Regina just sat there stunned, scared, unmoving.
Emma sighed and reached her arms under Regina's and pulled her to standing.
"Ow my ankle." Regina whimpered.
Emma took off her white tank. "Press this to your face." As Regina grabbed the garment and did so Emma scooped her up and took her upstairs.
"Ok" setting Regina down on the bed, "Let me see."
Regina with a shaking hand removed the fabric and looked down, was this woman going to hurt her? This must be a trick.
Emma lifted Regina's chin.
"It doesn't look too serious." Emma disappeared into a strange room. "Don't try running your ankle cant take your weight, you will just hurt yourself further."
She reappeared with bottles of liquid and band aids and wrap.
Emma carefully whipped away the remaining blood on Regina's face and when she cleaned the cuts with antiseptic Regina hissed.
"it stings." She closed her eyes tight.
"Well you did crash into glass, that can't have felt good." Emma added with a smile.
Emma's face was very close and Regina pushed her hair back subconsciously.
"Regina, did you time travel?" Emma looked calmly into Regina's eyes.
"Time.., time travel can't be done." Regina looked at her incredulously. How much did this Emma know about her?
"Well, it's just you seem to know everyone, but your definitely not from this time. Are you sure you didn't time travel? How did you get here?"
There was concern in her eyes for who, Regina?
"I… I cast a… spell. To take me to a time where I was happy…" She touched her hand thoughtlessly to her face and ran into Emma's hand. "Sorry."
"It's fine. Ok. Well guess I'll need to find more to find out how to get you home. What is going on in your world right now?"
"Well… a war… you were on your way to kill me. But I left first."
"A war? In Storybrooke?"
Regina shook her head.
"No dear, the Enchanted Forest."
Emma switched her attention from Regina's ankle back to her eyes.
"The Enchanted Forest? What am I doing there?"
…..
Regina explained that she had never cast the curse. And why, little Emma. But how she still couldn't let go of vengeance though she had spared little Emma but at the last min. Used a spell to come here.
"I guess I really didn't want to see the bodies the next day. And you were coming to kill me. I had to do something. You are a Charming. And You always win." Regina looked at a loss.
"Regina, is my Regina, alive?" Emma's hand stopped moving.
"I don't know Emma, I hope she is. She has magic. She should be fine."
Emma nodded Regina was strong, she had to believe she was ok.
"Well your majesty you seem to have gotten blood everywhere let's go rinse you off ya?" Emma reached for her hand.
"We can ice your ankle once we wash you off."
Regina sat on the tub watching Emma fill up the water then turning to strip her clothes off.
"Regina you ok? Is this ok?" She asked before removing Regina's shirt.
Regina blushed and nodded.
"I promise I won't hurt you." Emma gave her and easy smile.
After washing the blood off Emma reached for a cup.
"Lean your head back so I can wash your hair." Regina did as Emma asked with her legs pulled up to her chest.
Emma slipped when leaning forward and got water all over Regina's face. The hair shifted forward and Emma let out a roll of laughter.
"Regina…" giggle" I am so sorry, you look like a wet dog." Emma smiled as she pushed Regina's hair back out of her face.
Regina glared at her.
After she bath.
"Regina do you want to wear the blue or the black t-shirt?" Emma held up two identical V neck shirts minus the fact they were different colors.
"Blue." Regina pointed. And then smiled, as Emma pulled it over her head.
"Good I like you in that one better." She added with a wink.
Emma climbed under the covers. Regina sat there and moved her hair behind her ear. She was at a loss for what to do.
"Regina. I promise I won't try anything. Just get in." She held the covers open. "Please".
"Fine Emma." Regina was happy for the invitation. She couldn't sleep though. But Emma could. Not five min after Regina had gotten under the covers Emma was snoring lightly with her mouth slightly open. Regina hadn't seen Emma in years. She allowed herself to notice how beautiful Emma had turned out. The long slightly wavy blond hair. The way she seemed to looked almost like the six year old Regina had spared when she was asleep. Regina had a wave wash over her. This couldn't be real. Emma couldn't love her. She took a deep breath trying to keep the tears at bay in case Emma came to. She finally laid down and stared at the ceiling, what was she even doing here. Emma took that moment to roll over and wrap around her.
"Regina, I had the weirdest dream…" Regina took a breath and held it. "you went back to the Enchanted Forest and the Evil Queen came here. How strange." Back to snoring. Emma nuzzled into Regina.
Regina leaned in and kissed Emma on the lips out of curiosity. That was all it took for the woman to wake.
