FROM PART 5...
"The first team is taking the elevator up," an aide said to the commander. "Second team will proceed them as soon as the lift returns."
"Good," the commander said. "Soon we will prove ourselves worthy of Millennium's blessing," nodding to Tubalcain Alhambra, who returned the nod.
However, Alhambra grinned, thinking to himself, 'On the contrary, my dear commander… your troops are only going to show their incompetence! It was all planned by the Major after all!'
AND NOW, PART 6...
The first two squads, one of four the other six, broke out of the elevator as soon as the doors opened up at the penthouse level. Almost immediately, the group of four made their way to the doors of the penthouse, while the others took-up positions of cover along the pillars between the doors and the elevator. Using hand signals, the commander motioned the entrance specialist - who was holding a portable battering ram - into position... then signaled to proceed.
Quickly, the twin doors of the penthouse were knocked open, and the first four charged inside. Through the darkness they saw a tall figure, dressed in a red trenchcoat, standing in front of them, unarmed. Then the shooting started, all four emptying clips into the man, quickly knocking him to the ground. Then they continued to shoot, spraying a wall of lead into the man, all the while shattering the large picture window behind him and perforating the elegant wallpaper, until they were sure he was dead.
"CEASE FIRE!" the commander called-out, getting the desired result. Then looking around, he added, "Sweep the room! The report said that there were two terrorists inside! I want that second..."
"You dogs!" a sneering, mocking voice – Alucard's – growled. All of a sudden, four sets of eyes turned to their victim, who had stood up and stared at them as the body of the No-Life King quickly healed itself from the assault. "And I will not be laid low by such low-bound hounds like you!" Alucard sneered, his glowing orange-red eyes glaring insanely at four trembling figures.
Then he struck! The first man caught the vampire's teeth in his neck, then having his larynx viciously ripped out. The survivors stared in horror, just before Alucard used his hand to slash the second closest across the chest, which tore his heart in half. The two remaining SWAT members then decided that finding a more defensible position was the better part of valor, both of them darting to one of the adjacent room, the man behind closing the double doors and locking them.
"How nice, you've locked the door!" Alucard's voice purred from behind him. Incredulous, the man spun around – only to see his partner dead, the vampire killing the man before he could utter a warning! Alucard then dropped the man to the floor, then slowly strolled towards the remaining man, who had fell to the floor and back-peddled against the door.
"You... you... you... YOU'RE A MONSTER!" the man yelled, numb with terror.
"Yes I know, everyone keeps telling me that," Alucard gleefully countered, grinning while he continued to close the distance between himself and the terrorized policeman, "but what does that make you... a man, a dog... or a monster? In my eyes, you're more of a monster than I am, so SHOW ME that you're not one!" Convinced that he was about to die horribly, the poor man urinated himself before he did the only thing that was on his mind at the time – he took out his gun, and while trembling – shot himself in the head!
Alucard immediate reaction to this was at first shock... followed by a huge quantity of disgust. "Coward!" he angrily growled, calmly walking away from the body of the SWAT trooper. After over 500 years, he hated suicide, and had little sympathy for those who chose it. Within his mind, however, he was grateful that Irene 'Rally' Vincent had chosen not to end her unlife in a similar fashion after the Bath raid. She may be impulsive, but he liked her.

Outside the Hotel Rio, many police, as well as Brazilian Army reservists, took-up positions around the parameter of the building, mostly to keep the growing throng of bystanders from the entrance. What none of them saw was a large swarm of bats converging near the penthouse – then swarmed around in the center until they formed into a single being – Irene "Rally" Vincent, who had an anxious look on her face. Taking care to disguise herself in the darkness, she moved towards what appeared to be a set of windows.
Right away, though, Rally's insides tightened-up when she saw the window shattered, fearing the worst. 'Oh crap!' she thought to herself, looking for a way inside. 'Master, please be alright!'

It was fortunate that Seras Victoria had found a dumb waiter inside the penthouse, for upon Alucard's orders, she had hid herself inside of it, waiting for the 'all-clear'. But as soon as she exited, she was horrified at the number of human corpses that had laid bleeding upon the exquisitely-carpeted floor. "Oh my god..." she gasped, horrified.
"Police Girl," Alucard barked, returning to the main parlor, "it's time for battle! Get ready!"
"But Master," Seras stammered, still comprehending the situation, "these people..."
"And your point?" the No-Life King growled, his anger building. "Do as you're told!", he barkee.
Seras decided to approach her view delicately. "But Master..." she began, "... these people... are humans!"
"Yes?" Alucard growled, his anger building.
"These people are humans... fellow officers of mine!" the Draculina pleaded, hoping against hope that her master could see her point.
"I DON'T CARE WHO THESE GNATS WERE!" Alucard roared, grabbing Seras roughly by the collar and forcing her in-front of his face. "THEY CAME HERE TO KILL US, AND I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY WERE! NOW THEY MUST BE SLAUGHTERED, LYING AS COPSES TO ROT IN THEIR FILTH! I'M SORRY POLICE GIRL, BUT THIS IS JUST THE WAY IT IS! NO ONE HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE THAT, NOT GOD, SIR INTEGRA, SATAN OR YOU!"
It was a long five seconds pause before another voice asserted itself upon the two.. "Al...u...card..." the voice... a female... snarled. Both Alucard and Seras turned in the direction of the voice... and saw Rally standing there, an aura of dark energy swirling about her as she glared angrily at Alucard.
'Oh no... Rally!" Seras thought mentally, embarrassed at her childe seeing her in such a vulnerable position. Alucard, however, stood his ground.
"Release my master," Rally quietly snarled, her eyes glowing a brilliant red, "or I swear Alucard... I'll make you regret it!"
For a few seconds, Alucard stood, contemplating how to answer Seras' childe's challenge. Then he release his former childe, saying, "I am sorry, Police Girl, Rally... but it is just the way it is!"
Almost immediately, Rally raced to her master. "Hey," she began, "are you alright, Master?"
But Seras quickly brushed Rally off, saying, "It's... it's alright, Rally!" But Seras looked embarrassed. The dusky vampire then again glared angrily at the No-Life King.
"Seras," Alucard began, "I realize your special attachment to all police officers and I appreciate it... but I'm afraid this is not the time. Those officers came-in to destroy us both and I suspect that they have been manipulated by our Nazi enemies to do so. I'm sorry to say, but I'm afraid that they and their companions outside this suite are about to become casualties in this battle. You do understand this?:
Rally paused in glaring at Alucard to study Seras, who looked shell-shocked. "Master?" she asked but got no response.
"I understand, Master," the Draculina replied in a low voice, but then repeated louder, "Yes, I understand!"
"Good," Alucard drolled, again paying no heed to Rally's repeated glare. "Now before we proceed, we must contact England at once!"
'"Contact England'?" Rally was incredulous. "Excuse me, but I believe the cops downstairs have got all the phones disconnected when they cut off the power to this suite, so there's no way we can contact Integra, let alone anyone else!"
Alucard didn't say a thing, only to produce a satellite cell phone from under his coat. "Dammit," the dusky vampire quietly muttered, "I've should have expected this."
ENGLAND, THE HELLSING MANOR, THE OFFICE OF SIR INTEGRA FAIRBROOK WINGATES HELLSING, AT THE SAME TIME...
Almost everyone in the office took notice of the phone on Sir Integra's desk ringing. "Hmm... now that is odd," Walter C. Dolnez remarked, "I wonder who would be ringing-up the private line at this hour? I wonder..." He then punched the intercom and answered, "Yes?"
"It is me... your humble and loyal servant! Your orders, Sir Integra?" Alucard's voice announced over the loudspeaker.
Almost immediately, Sir Integra, sat-up at her desk. "Alucard? Is that you?"
"Of course it is," the No-Life King's voice said. "Myself, the Police Girl, and Rally Vincent await your orders."
"Rally? She's there... with you?" Integra gasped.
As soon as he heard Rally was present, Kenneth Hedgley quickly glanced over to his daughter, Moria Fargason Hedgley – as was surprised at her reaction... or more accurately, the lack thereof. The young maid was standing next to him, her head downcast. She wasn't crying, yelling... or anything. It was as if she was ignorant to what was going on. 'This is not natural,' the werewolf thought to himself, 'Moria would at the very least be asking if her beloved was alright, but she is doing nothing!'
THE HOTEL RIO, AT THE SAME TIME...
"Uh... yeah I am," the dusky vampire said. "I... kinda left Pip back at our hotel when I heard of the attack. You're... not too upset at me?"
SIR INTEGRA'S OFFICE...
"No, it is understandable you would go to your master's side at her time of need," Sir Integra replied, "but Alucard... those policemen that entered your room... what have you done with them?
The answer was immediate and to the point... "I've killed them!" Alucard replied gleefully.
Integra and Kenneth reacted in horror, while Walter just stood and nodded. And Moria... there was still no reaction from her, the girl seemingly oblivious to the events transpiring.
THE HOTEL RIO...
"I've slaughtered them like the cattle they are," Alucard declared, "and now I await your orders!" Both Rally and Seras stood as the No-Life King added, "Sir Integra, I suspect that Millennium had corrupted the officials responsible for them and sent them against. They might be humans, but I will kill them just the same! I'm ready to strike them down without any sign of regret or prejudice in any form! I'm am your monster, and will do whatever task you set me to... but only upon YOUR orders!"
SIR INTEGRA'S OFFICE...
Everyone in the office stood as Alucard further said, "My guns are loaded, the rounds are chambered and the hammers cocked, the safeties are off and my sights are on their targets... but the main question is what will you do? You and only you can pull the trigger!" A beat of silence, then, "I am awaiting your orders... Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing!"
Integra fell back in her chair, seemingly contemplating what to do. "Sir Integra?" Kenneth offered, but stopped upon seeing a hand motion by Walter. Absently, Integra reached into her humidor for a cigar and lit it, but little else. For a few uncomfortable seconds, everyone just stood and watched, the lone exception being Moria, who was still in her little world.
Then the explosion hit!
Throwing her cigar aside, Integra bolted out of her chair and yelled, "HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY RESOLVE, YOU MONSTER! I HAD GIVEN YOU YOUR ORDERS AND YOU WILL CARRY THEM OUT! YOU ARE TO SEARCH AND DESTROY – YOU HEAR, SEARCH AND DESTROY! ANY RESISTANCE YOU ENCOUNTER, YOU ARE TO CRUSH! THE HELLSING ORGANIZATION DOES NOT RETREAT WHEN WE FACE AN ENEMY! I WANT YOU TO KILL THEM ALL, LEAVE NOTHING OF YOUR ENEMIES BUT BLOODY STAINS IN YOUR WAKE!"
Over the loudspeaker, Alucard laughed manically. "At last," he finally said, "the final veil is removed!" Integra just panted as if she ran a marathon as the No-Life King added, "I must admit, you really know how to stir my passions!
THE HOTEL RIO...
Rally stood in mute shock at what she had witnessed. 'He... he's crazy! He actually dared Integra into that tantrum!' she thought.
Alucard was still on the phone, a maniacal smile on his face. "This is most excellent news indeed! Then, in accordance to your orders, Sir Integra, I do hope you enjoy the show." He then switched off the phone and glanced at the two women besides him.
"Uh... Master?" Seras asked, only to see a murderer's gleam in her master's face.
Rally flinched, herself seeing the expression on Alucard's face. 'Oh crap!' she thought, her insides clenching. 'I've got this bad feeling that the shit's REALLY going to hit the fan!'
SIR INTEGRA'S OFFICE...
Integra fell back into her chair, weary after her tirade. "Walter..." she finally said after a few seconds, "please tell me... was I correct? Did I make the right choice?"
For all intensive purposes, the old butler just straightened himself off. "Frankly, Sir Integra, my opinions on your actions are inconsequential. I am simply your butler, and I only hope that my services are adequate in your decision-making." Straightening his tie, he added, "Now, at the risk of sounding insensitive, I believe I should pop down to the kitchen and get us all a fresh pot of tea. I believe a new shipment from Sri Lanka had arrived this morning." He then proceeded out, but stopped, turned around and added, "Miss Hedgley?"
"Huh?" Moria seemed at that moment to snap out of what appeared to be a dream. "Yes Mr. Dolnez?" she asked, turning to her supervisor.
"Would you care to accompany me in getting the tea?" Walter asked politely.
The werewolf maid then looked around the darkened room, then turned to Walter and replied, "If you don't mind, Mr. Dolnez, I wish to remain here with my father and Sir Integra."
For a few seconds, Walter just looked at the young woman, as if appraising her question. Then a gentle smile graced his features. "I see. Very well, you may do as you wish." He then turned around and exited the room, closing the doors behind him.
But five seconds after Walter left, Moria turned to face Integra, a grim look on her face. "Sir Integra... Mr. Dolnez may have his opinion, but as for me, you made the right decision into sending Alucard to battle!"
"Moria!" Integra gasped, alarmed.
"My god!" Kenneth added. "Moria, do you realize what you are saying?"
"I DO, FATHER!" Moria shot back, surprising her father with the force of her voice. "Granted, I was relieved to hear Rally's voice and knowing she was alright, but hearing that she may be in danger... I may not have showed it, but I was livid!" All of a sudden, her eyes switched from emerald green to bluish-white, fangs appearing in her mouth. "A part of me wishes to be at Alucard's side, shredding apart those who wish to kill her and Seras and painting the walls and floors of that hotel with their blood, flesh and entrails!"
Integra and Kenneth watched in horror. Never have they seen such bloodlust in this normally gentle woman. "Moria..." Kenneth said, not knowing what else to say.
"Do not worry, Father," Moria replied gently, her features returning to normal, "I'm not quite the monster those three in Rio are. Those men that had died and are about to die at Alucard's hands may have families waiting for them, wives and children who are wondering if they are to about to become widows and/or orphans." She then clasped her hands and bowed her head. "And it is for them that I will pray for those poor men's souls."
Kenneth then took his time as he quietly walked behind Integra's desk. For her part, the Hellsing leader looked-up to the elder Hedgley and quietly said, "She is quite the woman, Kenneth."
"I don't believe I deserve most of the credit," Kenneth offered. "Moria gets it mostly from her grandfather's side. Peter was a bigger influence on her life than I, myself mostly gallivanting around the world defending the Empire."
"But she loves you nonetheless," Integra countered. She was going to add more, but the phone rang again. "That cannot be Alucard again!" This time, she picked-up the receiver and said, "Yes, who is it?" A moment, then she leaned herself upright. "How did you get this number?" she demanded. Another pause, then Integra slumped her head, as if remembering something. "Oh yes, I gave you the number, how neglectful of me. Anyway, what is it that you wish to discuss?"
One or two minutes passed, then Integra's eyes widened. "You have operatives in Brazil... and you are offering a place for our people to hide once they escape?" Another pause. "And what is it that you demand as payment for this... proposal?" More silence. "Nothing?" Again, silence. "I see. Very well, I will see if I can arrange transportation once my people are safe." She nodded. "Yes, you do have a good memory, and I thank you."
Just before she set the receiver down, Kenneth looked at Integra. "Who is it?" he asked.
Integra just set the phone down before replying, "An old acquaintance... paying back for some aid we gave them."
HOTEL MOSCOW, ROANPUR...
Balalaika set down the phone, then turned to Boris, who was standing in front of her desk. "Sergeant," she barked, "contact the São Paulo branch, tell them the Rio operation is a go!"
"At once, Capitan!" the large Russian replied, saluting. He was about to leave the office when Boris turned to his boss. "Capitan... do you have any idea what is going to happen at that hotel?"
The scared crimelord just set her elbows on the desk, propping her head upon her clasped hands. "Only one thing, Sergeant... that the coming battle there will make all the battles we've faced in Afghanistan seem more like a minor schoolyard scuffle!"
