It was getting late. The four women fell into an easy night routine of tea and coffee after dinner, to unwind and try to figure out their crazy dynamic.

They were all gathered around the kitchen counter, when the Queen spoke.

"I think it's about time me and Emma got our own place. I love being here with you to but it's not fair to either of you." The Queen held her mug tightly.

"Where can we go?" Her gaze shifted from Regina, to Emma while she moved her hand to her Emma's arm.

The older Regina cast her eyes down and tried to hide her sadness. To say she didn't handle loss well, was an understatement.

The older Emma sighed and spoke up.

"Well, I don't want you to go so far, but maybe somewhere close enough to visit? How about my old apartment in Boston…I…could show you if you want." She added a genuine smile.

The Queen breathed out a sigh of relief,

"Sounds perfect, could we go today? It's a long weekend and…"

SB Emma jumped in, "Of course! You and me go check it out and Regina and Emma can take the kids to the movies. No sense in all of us going." She turned to her Regina with a reassuring smile.

Regina looked like she wanted to protest, but she gave in.

"Fine. But you two have to drive extra careful, it's getting cold at night and the climate outside of StoryBrooke is not as predictable."

Emma rolled her eyes,

"Ok 'MM' I did grow up out there, I know what winter is." She stuck her tongue out when Regina glared back.

….

A few hours later SB Emma and the Queen had overnight bags packed in case the weather got bad.

The Queen held Emma by the shoulders, "You sure you will be alright?" She watched her face closely. Emma's face relaxed.

"Yes Regina…." She kept the eye contact, "I love you, you know that right?"

Regina's eyes watered and she brought her Emma into a tight embrace.

"Yes, and I love you too sweetheart," Wiping tears away, "I'm sorry this is ridiculous… I'll see you tonight."

Emma pulled her in for one more kiss.

The older couple had traveled away from each other before. Emma almost forgot to tell Regina goodbye. As Emma went to walk away Regina caught her wrist,

"Emma, wait."

Emma turned around confused.

"I don't have a good feeling about this." She looked like she were on the verge of a panic attack.

"Regina what has gotten into you? I will be back tonight, in your bed, safe and sound, don't worry. Oh, and it will be tomorrow morning if there is weather, I promise." She held her hand over her heart.

Regina stepped forward and kissed her, "I love you dear."

"I love you too."
