Chapter 12

Slowly Vlad started to speed up, moving my legs slightly to get deeper into me. I cried out as he hit my g-spot and I heard him chuckle breathlessly before he started to slam straight into that spot over and over.

I shouted out Vlad's name as the feeling washed over me, me eyes closing and my back arching off the bed when suddenly the door flew open and three people rushed into the room with stakes held high.

Vlad quickly pulled away from me and turned to defend himself when I recognised who the slayers were.

"Elowen? Katherine? Michael? What are you doing here?"

They stopped in surprise and stared at me in shock before Elowen turned to cover Michael's eyes, I slight flush of pink in her cheeks. I suddenly realised I was lying naked and tied down to the bed, and looked at Vlad angrily.

"Honey, could you please untie me so I can put something on."

It took Vlad a minute to respond but suddenly he looked embarrassed and walked over to the bed to untie me. I quickly reassemble my underwear and walked into the wardrobe to throw on a pair of trackies and a t-shirt.

"Sorry about that guys, but this is a pretty bad time. What are you doing here?"

"When you disappeared we came looking for you, but we didn't find any trace of you until you turned up at the mall today shopping with the bloodsucker. We followed you here but it took a little time for us to sneak into the building. We were searching for you when we heard you shouting and thought you were being attacked. How were we supposed to know you had betrayed your own kind and are sleeping with the worst bloodsucker we know of?"

I glared at Michael as he spoke, eventually turning to look at Vlad apologetically.

"Vlad I think you better leave me to handle this, you probably have business to take care of anyway."

He nodded and continued to watch the slayers carefully as he disappeared into the wardrobe. I turned back to look each of my friends in turn before I spoke.

"You are wrong, I didn't betray you. I came here to find a way to end the war peacefully by discussing a treaty between us and the vamps. They don't bite anyone and we don't slay anyone, and if you break the rules you are sent immediately to the opposing side for your punishment."

They stared back at me with a mixture of shock and disgust, and eventually Katherine spoke.

"So you would hand us over to be drained for doing our duty…"

"Your duty is to kill vampires who kill humans. They don't kill humans and we don't kill them, if you break that rule they get to kill you and if they break the rule we get to kill them. It's either that or a war that will bring about the end of humanity. Which would you prefer?"

Katherine continued to glare at me before lowering her gaze to the floor.

"Of course I would rather have the treaty but I just don't trust the Vamps."

"I don't trust all of them either. But they have lost people to this war as well and some of them want this to work as much as we do."

I gestured to the table and they all slowly went to sit down while I gathered up my plans for the treaty. It took a few hours but eventually I had explained everything and we had sorted out a few of the minor details and removed any possible loopholes.

I didn't realise how late it was until my stomach started to rumble and I realised I hadn't eaten in a few hours. I stood up and pulled on a rope hanging from a wall nearby and within seconds a human slave arrived to see what we needed. I asked her to order us 3 pizzas to be delivered from the local dominoes then turned back to my friends.

Elowen was just about to ask me something when another slave appeared at the door carrying a message, which he delivered to me then almost ran away in fright. I frowned and opened the piece of parchment before slamming my fist on the table.

"I have to go to a council meeting like some obedient pet. They have even told me what to wear and how to behave."

"If you are going we are coming to. And screw their dress code just wear something easy to fight in."

"They aren't going to try and kill us and we aren't going to try and kill them. If following their rules gets me the respect I need to get a treaty then that's exactly what I'm going to do."

I walked into the wardrobe to change and emerged 20 minutes later in a black velvet dress that came down to about mid-thigh and knee high boots. It had the added advantage of long sleeves in which I could hide a small stake. The guys were still sitting round the table but I could see they hadn't been idle by the multiple outlines of stakes only a slayer would notice. I sighed and walked over to them.

"Right stakes on the table. I will allow you to take one each which is only to be used if a vampire actually tries to bite you. The rest stay here."

They looked at me with innocent expressions until eventually they started to pile their stakes up on the table. After a thorough search to see they hadn't hidden any more I gave them each one small stake and then forced them out of the door ahead of me and locked it behind me. I almost marched them to the council chambers, mentally praying they wouldn't do anything stupid.
