"Do you have a second to talk?" Kai turned around astonished and eager to find out who was disturbing his lunch break. Hikaru had already sat down on the other chair at the café-table.

"I don't know, what you want, but stay away from Saya! And don't dare come near the twins again!", Kai answered in return.

"That's not the politest way of saying hello", Hikaru ran over the menu as if he intended to stay for a while with a cup of coffee, "I didn't even explain why I am here and you already act as if I where the bad guy."

"Well…you show up years after I have seen you for the last time while you had a huge argument with my nieces. This happens exactly the day Saya wakes up and this is also the day I learn about you being a chevalier. Isn't that suspicious?"

"Actually I am only here to help and to make a job offer."

"What kind of job would that be?"

"I know that you like the twins very much and I you want to know them safe. I can protect Hibiki and I will do that with my life, but Kanode still needs someone to look after her."

"There is no danger for them. They needn't be protected."

"They will hopefully have a long life you never know what comes next."

"And you want me to become her chevalier?"

"Exactly", said Hikaru as if Kai had mastered a very hard riddle.

"That is not your decision", Kai's voice grew louder with his anger, "if she wants to have a chevalier, she can find one herself."

"She is asleep, she can't do that now. Who will watch out for her before she wakes up?"

"You can, if you think that this is necessary."

Hikaru sat silently for a while, that he said quietly: "I know that Monique has been feeling ill lately quite often. I know she has seen a doctor and is still waiting for the results." "So you admit that you are spying on us?", Kai interrupted.

"That is not the point. I didn't want you to learn about it by me, but you should know about it: your wife has cancer and she doesn't have much time left"

"You are lying", Kai shouted, so that the people in the Café turned around to see what was going on.

"I am not, and becoming a Chevalier would be her only way to survive. "

Kai stood up and left the Café without even paying the bill, furious and confused, not knowing what to believe and what not to.

Solomon had been waiting for Hikaru behind the next corner. He stepped in his way, gripped to his coat and said: "I don't know what you are planning to do, but stay away from Saya and her family! Did you get that?"

Hikaru freed himself from his grip and answered: "Whom I meet and what I do is my business, not yours."

"It is my business as soon as it involves Saya."

"I don't intend to harm her, if this is what you want to know. She is a queen after all, and I will respect her."

Solomon turned his head away: "I would still feel better if I knew that you aren't around her."

"Is it because you are jealous?" Solomon caught at his collar again. "She is a beauty, isn't she?", Hikaru whispered, "but I can ensure you, that I am not interested in her that way." Then he stroke after Solomon to come free again and disappeared.
