Jeff sat on the couch as him and Punk watched a hockey game.

"I still don't get it," said Jeff, watching the puck skate across the field.

Punk looked over at him and smirked. "I don't get how you can find hockey boring."

"They're not doing anything," said Jeff, looking over at Punk.

"Give it a minute, they'll start fighting," said Punk, biting his lip as one of the teams almost scored.

Jeff chuckled and looked back at the game. "It's still boring."

"Well, I guess I'll have to entertain you another way," said Punk, leaning over and kissing his neck.

"No, I'm not in the mood," said Jeff, pulling away and getting up to make popcorn.

Punk sighed and got up to follow him. "Jeff, you know I respect you and your wants and whatnot, but it's been four days since we've had sex. Four."

"So?" Said Jeff.

"So?" Said Punk as he walked up behind Jeff and wrapped his arms around his waist. "So, I'm really horny."

Jeff rolled his eyes. "You're always horny."

"Come on," said Punk, turning Jeff around and pressing him against the counter. "You know you want it."

"I'm not in the mood," said Jeff, turning his cheek when Punk tried to kiss him.

Punk furrowed his brows when his lips met Jeff's cheek. "What's up with you?"

"Nothing," said Jeff, going back to his popcorn. "I just don't want everything to be about sex."

"It's not all about sex," said Punk, standing beside him. "But there's nothing wrong with having sex every day."

"I know-"

"Then why are you acting like this?" Said Punk, taking Jeff's hand.

Jeff sighed softly and looked up at Punk, kissing him.

Punk immediately reciprocated and ran his hands over Jeff's butt before picking him up and carrying him back to the couch. Jeff moaned softly as Punk layed on top of him.

"That's my Jeff," said Punk, kissing his collar bone.

A little while later, Jeff laid next to Punk on the couch, watching some dumb sitcom that came on after the game. Punk was sleeping with Jeff in his arms, and Jeff sighed.

He wasn't sure what it was, but something wasn't right. It's not like this was new. When there was a hockey game, they'd have sex, and sleep it out on the couch. But tonigjt, it felt different. It felt, wrong.

John also laid awake in his bed, staring at the ceiling. He wondered what Jeff was doing right now, what he was thinking. If Jeff was thinking of him...

Never before had his king-sized bed felt so empty. He laid his arm out on the empty spot next to him, wishing Jeff was there beside him. Wishing he could run his fingers through his long, rainbow hair. He wanted nothing more right then than to just hold Jeff.

'Just another week,' thought John. 'He'll be mine.' At least, that's what he hoped. If this plan backfired, John didn't know what he'd do.

Later that week, John stood inside the arena for Smackdown, waiting at the door for Melina. When she walked in she sighed and crossed her arms. "So, what exactly is the plan here? Because I'm beginning to think there isn't one and you're just winging this and hoping for the best."

"This is the last time, I swear," said John. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Punk's car pulling up, and he pulled Melina closer. "Now come here and make out with me."

Melina rolled her eyes and shook her head. "You are something else, John."

"I know, I know," said John, attaching their lips.

Jeff walked in with Punk, and felt his heart drop into his stomach when he saw John. He grabbed Punk's hand tighter and leant against him, trying to hold his tears in as they kept walking.

John pulled away when Jeff was out of sight. "Do you think it worked?"

"He looked like he wanted to cry," said Melina, giving John an annoyed look. "So if that's what you were going for, congrats asshole."

John got a small smirk. "Love you Mel."

"Yeah yeah," said Melina, as they walked to his locker room.

Jeff sat on a bench as Punk started changing. "You ok?" Said Punk, taking off his shirt. "You seen kinda down."

"I'm fine," said Jeff, with a sigh.

Punk smirked. "I know what'll cheer you up."

"If it's having sex on these benches I'll pass," said Jeff, resting his head on his hand.

"How about shower sex then?" Said Punk, unbuckling his belt.

"I'm not in the mood," said Jeff, looking at his nails.

"Come on," said Punk, grabbing Jeff's hand.

"No, Phil," said Jeff, as Punk pulled him to the shower room. "I said I'm not in the mood."

"I'll get you in the mood," said Punk, pressing Jeff against a wall. When he started kissing Jeff's neck, Jeff pushed him off.

"No! I don't want to!" Said Jeff, glaring at him.

Punk got a confused look. "You always want to."

"Well not anymore," said Jeff, leaving the shower room.

"Jeff, wait," said Punk, grabbing his wrist.

Jeff turned to face him. "What?"

"What's wrong?" Said Punk, letting go of him.

"Nothing's wrong-"

"Something is clearly wrong," said Punk, crossing his arms. "You've been acting really strange lately. Just tell me what's up."

"I'm just, different now," said Jeff, looking at his feet. "Having spontaneous sex all the time is just not who I am anymore."

"I know you're different. Ever since we came back you've been different," said Punk, with a somber look. "What changed?"

"I don't know," said Jeff, looking up at him.

Punk sighed. "It's John, isn't it?"

"Phil-"

"No, you like him," said Punk, taking Jeff's hand again. "He changed you, and manipulated you-"

"He didn't manipulate me," said Jeff, pulling away. "If anything I manipulated him."

"Don't say that," said Punk, brushing Jeff's hair back.

"It's true," said Jeff, tearing up. "This is all my fault. You guys were best friends and I ruined it."

"He ruined it," said Punk, rubbing his tears away.

"No he didn't," said Jeff, leaning into his touch.

Punk pulled him closer into a hug and rubbed his back. "I love you, Jeff. Whatever this is, we can get through it."

"I love you too," said Jeff, as Punk kissed his cheek. He held Jeff for a few moments before they started changing.

The show went as routine as possible. Punk and John were in a tag match together and neither one maimed the other, so that was progress.

During the match, Melina sat and watched by Jeff again. "Hey Jeff."

"Hey," said Jeff, not looking away from the match.

"How are you?" Said Melina.

"I'm alright," said Jeff.

"Are you?" Said Melina.

Jeff raised a brow and looked at her. "Yeah, why?"

"You didn't seem alright earlier," said Melina. "When you walked in earlier, you looked really upset."

"Oh," said Jeff. "I'm just tired."

"You've been tired for a while," said Melina.

"What do you mean?" Said Jeff.

"You used to have a spark in your eyes, it's gone," said Melina.

"It's nothing," said Jeff.

"It has to be something," said Melina.

"It's not," said Jeff.

Melina sighed softly. "Jeff, do you like John?"

Jeff's eyes widened. "What?"

"Do you like John?" Said Melina.

"I'm with Punk-"

"I didn't ask who you're with, I asked who you like," said Melina.

Jeff looked down and back uo at the screen displaying the match. "Yes. I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry," said Melina.

"But you're with him," said Jeff. "He loves you."

"Jeff, our relationship is bull shit," said Melina.

Jeff looked at her with furrowed brows. "What?"

"He asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend to make you jealous," saod Melina. "He's being an asshole and fucking with you. Trust me, John loves you."

Jeff's eyes softened as he took in her words. The match ended with Punk winning and him and John made their way backstage.

"Hey Mel," said John, kissing her and looking at Jeff. Jeff just smirked a little and walked away with Punk. John raised a brow and looked at Melina. "What did you do?"

"I saved your life," said Melina. "You can thank me later when Jeff is in your bed."

John watched her walk away. "Do I go talk to him?"

"Let him come to you," said Melina.

"Right," said John, as she turned the corner. He immediately went to his locker room and waited, biting his nails.

Jeff sighed as him and Punk finished changing. "Phil, I need to talk to you."

"What's up?" Said Punk, stuffing his gear into his bag.

"In private," said Jeff, looking around at all the other wrestlers changing.

"Oh, ok," said Punk, grabbing his bag and Jeff's hand leaving the room. They walked until they found an isolated hallway. "Are you ok? Was someone messing with you?" Said Punk, stroking Jeff's hair.

"No, I'm fine. I just, need to talk with you," said Jeff.

"What's wrong?" Said Punk.

Jeff grabbed his hands and took a deep breath. "I don't think we work anymore."

"Jeff I-"

"Just listen," said Jeff. "I'm sorry, but we don't work anymore. It's not-"

"Jeff-"

"Just listen," said Jeff.

"Jeff I know," said Punk.

"You... you know?" Said Jeff, getting a confused look.

Punk brushed Jeff's hair back and kissed him. "I love you, but you're not you anymore. You've changed, and that's not a bad thing, but we're not right for each other."

Jeff teared up. "I'll always love you."

"I know," said Punk, he took Jeff's hand, slipping the engagement ring off. "I'll always love you too." He kissed Jeff again for a few more seconds before pulling away. "If you really love something, you have to let it go."

Jeff wiped a tear away. "I'm so sorry."

"Don't be sorry for being who you are," said Punk. He kissed Jeff one last time before walking away. Jeff watched him go away as he wiped tears away, before walking to John's locker room.

John was laying on one of the benches when he heard a knock. He immediately jumped up and answered, his heart skipping a beat when he saw Jeff. "Melina told you?"

"Yeah," said Jeff, rubbing his arm and looking down at his feet. "Can I come in?"

"Yeah, of course," said John, opening the door and letting Jeff in. They sat next to each other and John looked at Jeff's left hand. "No ring?"

Jeff shook his head and felt a tear slide down his cheek. John held out his hand. "May I?"

Jeff set his hand in John's and John turned it over, rolling up his sleeve.

He ran his finger over one of Jeff's scars. "When you did this, you were a different person. You've changed, a lot. You're stronger now, you're a better person now. Maybe back then, Punk was right for you. But now, you don't go together. You're not meant to be together. I know you love him, and I have no doubt he loves you, but love isn't always enough."

More tears ran down Jeff's face and John wiped it away with his thumb. "Jeffrey Nero Hardy, I have done a lot of crazy things in my life, but nothing crazier than falling in love with you."

Jeff felt his heart start beating so loud he was afraid John could hear it, as John leaned in closer. He closed his eyes and felt his lips attach to John's. John slowly kissed him and wrapped an arm around his waist. Jeff ran his hands up Johns chest and started pulling up his shirt but John stopped him. "Don't rush," sad John, and Jeff nodded. "We've already rushed too much." He reattached their lips and they kissed for several minutes, while John ran his fingers through Jeff's hair.

When they were about to leave Jeff went to go warm the car up while John changed out of his ring gear. He hadn't bothered trying to change when he was waiting because he was worried Jeff would come in the middle of it. Right as he finished, there was a knock at the door.

John answered it, and his eyes widened when he saw Punk. He braced himself to get punched in the face, but Punk just stood there with his arms crossed. "I'm not gonna hit you," said Punk.

"Oh," said John, letting out a sigh of relief. "Then, what are you here for?"

"You treat Jeff right," said Punk, giving him a stern look. "Get him anything he needs, and wants. Anything he desires, and make him happy. If I hear anything about him being just the slightest bit upset, I will end you."

John gulped, believing Punk was 100% serious about that. "I'm gonna treat him right. I promise."

Punk nodded, looking into the locker room. "Is he in there?"

John shook his head. "He's starting the car."

Punk nodded, and John could've sworn he teared up for just a second before shaking it off. "Tell him I said hi."

"I will," said John, as Punk walked off. He left shortly after and met Jeff in the car. As they went into their room, John let out a satisfied sigh and smiled as Jeff laid down in his bed. He walked over and pulled him closer, kissing the top of his head. "I've wanted to hold you for so, so long."

Jeff smiled and buried his face in the crook of John's neck. "Have you?"

John nodded and trailed his fingers through Jeff's hair. "I'm so sorry, for all the horrible things I've ever said to you."

"It's ok," said Jeff, pulling away to look him in the eye. "It's all in the past."

"I didn't mean any of it," said John, caressing Jeff's face gently.

"I know," said Jeff, grabbing his hand. John leaned in and kissed him for a few seconds before going to sleep.

A few weeks later, Jeff had moved into John's house, and they had decided to put the title back on Punk. But even without the championship, John had never been happier.

He always thought he'd needed to be top dog and needed that belt to be happy. But as John looked over and saw Jeff laying beside him, he knew that wasn't true. All this time, all he needed was Jeff.
