Hello! I have a new wonderful beta by the name of

Jaune looking up at the night sky and for about the billionth time wished that he had brought a coat. Well, too late for that now. He needed to keep moving, no matter how much his body wanted to curl up in a little ball and sleep. Just let the world fade away.

But Jaune knew if he did that, there would be next to no chance that he would wake up, and even if he did, they, whoever they were, would find him. Jaune didn't want to even think of what would happen if they found him.

He had managed to escape the school and the deep slumber not once, but twice. They might realize that Jaune was more trouble than he was worth and just put him down. Jaune couldn't let that happen. He still needed to know why all those people where in that room.

Was it just for their own protection or some other sinister plot?

Jaune's running stopped as a cliff neared. The cliff to the forest, he thought. The very same forest that they went to for deciding each student's partnership. John cast one last look at the school, wondering if he should go back.

No he couldn't. Jaune didn't even want to think what they could do to him there.

It was too dangerous to jump off the cliff. Jaune might have been able to do it once, but it was daytime and he was better prepared for the horrors below him in the forest.

Instead, Jaune decided to walk around and see if he could possibly get to the city where help could await him. After all, he did it before; even found another person like him. Granted, they died a horrible death a few months later, but Jaune didn't like to fuss over details.

Behind him, Jaune heard a snarl and a growl. He decided that now was a good time to head out and run, unless he wanted to become monster chow.

Jaune picked up the pace; sword in hand just in case he encountered something that really didn't like him. The trees became a blur as the noises stared to fade into the distance. Jaune panted, sweat pouring over his face. He lifted his hand to wipe his forehead.

The ground blurred as he ran a record breaking pace, his Grimm blood and the training combined made him a star athlete. When Jaune looked up, what he saw stopped him dead in his tracks. A giant monster stood in front of him, growling, teeth bore. That sight alone made his blood run cold, his heart speed up and his breath quicken.

"Look, I don't want to fight you," Jaune said, hoping that the monster would stand down, knowing that it wouldn't work, but hey, a guy can try. It started running toward Jaune. He ducked and rolled to get out of the way just in time for the monster to run past him, just barely escaping being crushed.

Jaune sat up, panting slightly. He prayed that the monster would just leave him alone and he would have to use much energy, for he was weak from his deep slumber.

No such luck.

The monster, noticing that its prey had escaped, roared, shaking the whole forest and charged again. You would think that he would have learned by now.

Jaune figured that he couldn't just duck and roll from this creature. He needed to stand up and fight, or else he would just be making it even angrier. So that's what he did, he got up and brushed himself off. Jaune hurried and picked up his sword, which he dropped on his last roll (he knows, not very hunter like).

By then, the creature was ready. He blew out through his nose and Jaune could have sworn that he saw steam coming out his nose, like the cartoons.

"Come and get me, you bastard," Jaune snarled. The creature roared and charged and ran at top speed towards Jaune. Jaune yelled and ran forward, sword held solidly at his side with two hands. He was prepared to run the creature through.

The creature, as soon as he got close enough, he made a wide snap at Jaune. He jumped out of the way just in time, but wasn't far enough away that he could take a stab at the monster.

Jaune sliced through and red rose petals exploded from the cut as the creature roared once again. It wasn't hurt, just angry at what had happened. Nothing touched him, nobody could hurt him.

It whipped around and faced Jaune, sword in hand, and made a swipe at him. Jaune jumped out of the way, once again, but not in time to avoid getting cut on his side.

Jaune hissed and brought his hand to his right side, drawing it away to see it red, covered in his blood. He would need to take care of it, before it got infected, but he couldn't focus on that, he needed to take out this creature.

"So that's how it's going to be, huh?" Jaune muttered. The monster snarled and growled. Jaune jumped as, once again, the monster tried to get at him. That only worked once. Even creatures with walnut sized brains should know this.

Jaune decided to take a different approach this time. He ran up to the side of the monster, confusing it momentarily. He jumped up the creature's side, knocking the breath out of it for a few seconds, before jumping on it's back.

The creature, after realizing what Jaune was doing, starting bucking, trying to shake Jaune off. Jaune held on with an iron grip as the monster bucked and growled.

Raising his sword up, he dug it into the creature's neck. It stilled and slowed, until it finally slumped to the ground, slowly changing into rose petals, which were lost to the wind.

Jaune got off the ground, panting slightly; the adrenaline from the battle finally wearing off. A sudden burn could be felt in his side, where the monster had scratched him. He touched his hand and brought it back, sucking in a breath when he saw it shine red with blood. He would need to get it bandaged as soon as he could.

He took off his sweatshirt, then his shirt. The shirt could be ripped up and used as a bandage, that was easy, but remaining warm, that was going to be a lot harder.

After securing his bandage and sliding on his shirt, Jaune wasted no time getting up and moving again. His biggest worry now was that other animals would hear him and coming looking for a midnight snack.

Each step that Jaune took, he could feel a sharp jolt of pain in his abdomen. He pressed a hand to the cut, hoping to dull the pain. It also didn't help that Jaune was starting to get hungry, too. He needed a meal, and fast, before he collapsed.

Soon, he found a small woodland animal, he didn't even think about identifying it before he devoured it. It helped to his pain, but just made him feel guilty.

Over the past few days, Jaune felt incredible guilt for what he had done. Maybe - even though he was told that he was born with this power - that he had done something to deserve it. Maybe, just maybe he was the monster that everyone had made him out to be.

Maybe he had caused his parents death.

No, he couldn't let himself think like that. Thinking like that never led to anything good. Jaune already had enough to worry about without all that guilt on his shoulders. Though after everything was over, well, that was a whole different deal.

"Stop it Jaune," he whispered to himself; worried if he said it any louder, he would attract unwanted attention.

Up ahead, the city's lights were getting brighter with every step. Jaune felt himself breath with relief as he stopped at the edge of the cliff and looked, seeing the skyscrapers lighting up the sky.

The hovercraft that took Jaune up to the school was out of the question. First off, he didn't even know if it was running tomorrow. Second, someone was bound to recognize him. After all, the school probably wouldn't let a potentially dangerous student run away without letting a few people know.

Maybe there was a staircase that led down to the city. Jaune didn't know of one, but he didn't know about a lot of things. That didn't mean that they didn't exist.

Anyways, Jaune didn't have a lot of time. The bandage wasn't that good and he could get infected, something that he didn't need to worry about. The sooner that he got to the city, the better.

Jaune walked across the cliff, looking and hoping that there was a staircase or a magical elevator or something.

There was no magical elevator, but there was a small staircase that wound down the cliff. It was just the miracle that Jaune was looking for.

Taking a deep breath, Jaune started down the stairway. He was nerves about what could be waiting for him once he reached the bottom. Nothing good.

If Beacon had noticed that he left, which by now he was sure that they had, they would have people looking for him. Maybe they would just have posters. Though when he thought more about it, posters would be much, much worse than a few policemen.

Jaune pushed those thought out of his mind. He couldn't focus on the negative if he wanted to get out of this situation. That at least what he learned while he was on the run the last time.

As soon as he found an alley tucked away in darkness, Jaune collapsed, too tired to move. He fell asleep as soon as his head hit the ground.

When the sun rose, so did Jaune. He needed to get a move on if he didn't want to get caught. Someone was bound to be looking for him, and well. He didn't want to be taken back to Beacon, and more importantly, Ozpin.

Jaune tried to get up, but hissed and fell to his knees. He cut was throbbing, badly. Unwinding the bandage, he looked at the cut. It was puffed up and red around the edges, little bits of blood still oozing out. Jaune may not have been a doctor, but he could tell there was something wrong with that cut. He needed help, but the question was: where to get it?

Gritting his teeth, Jaune shakily rose to his feet, whimpering and hissing as he did so, but stood up anyways. Jaune walked around the streets, both hands pressed to his side, figuring that might at least stop the bleeding.

After a bit, Jaune wished that he could have grabbed some money. He could hear his stomach growling, and he didn't like that sound. Maybe he could steal some food, but that would probably get him more attention than he would like.

No, instead he would have to keep on going, no matter how much his body was screaming at him to stop.

By midday, Jaune needed to get out of the sun. His fair skin was staring to burn and just standing under it made him all the more thirsty.

Jaune went into a nearby store, at the very least, he could steal some water.

As soon as he went in, Jaune realized that this was a major mistake. When he walked in, two men followed. One elbowed the other. He looked over and the other one nodded. Both split up.

One guarded the door as the other walked over and stopped a few feet from Jaune, pretending to look at some fruit. Jaune felt his pulse speed up, he need to get out of here before they called for backup.

So, Jaune took a chance.

Running up to the door, Jaune pushed the man with all his strength, knocking him to the ground. He quickly fled down the street.

"Hey," shouted one of the men. "Stop him!"

As Jaune ran, he felt as though his side was splitting open and little black dots clouded his vision. He felt as though he just ran a marathon. Jaune knew that he wasn't going to last much longer.

Soon after he thought that, he collapsed, blacking out. He sort of awoke to the feeling of some lifting him, and shouting "I got him!" before falling back into a deep sleep.
