"That's great…" Riza paused to wince in pain "...news." She smiled at her husband who was signing the document that docked him to be the next successor as fuhrer, which had been his dream for years. Ever since they had seen the horrors that they experienced in Ishval. She was standing over the sink, holding her stomach, pausing the dishes for the moment. Even though he could tell she was in a lot of pain, she kept doing her share of the house work and refusing to let him help her.
"You really should sit down, Riza." He looked up at her, while she was shaking her head.
"Absolutely not. I will not be the useless one around here." And just like that, she continued her dishes as if she felt no pain but you could tell there was a lot of it.
Doctors said the baby was abnormally big, and strongly encouraged not moving much if she was dead set on having this baby. And dead set she was.
Roy hugged her softly, turning off the running water. "I love you." He whispered in her ear and massaged her back, nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck, making her shiver.
"I love you too…" She murmured. She turned around and hugged him tightly. "More than you know…"
Together they sat on the couch listening to the radio, Riza with her eyes closed rubbing her stomach, and Roy still signing the papers intently.
The next day, Riza got up later than usual, complaining about the pains, and Roy noticed her stomach was bruising.
"We're going to the hospital," He said simply, and off they went. Riza was admitted to the ER, where the doctors and nurses were grim faced. First, the doctor went in to talk to Riza alone.
"Mrs. Mustang, it seems you have an… interesting case. Your young baby girl is almost ready to be born, yes?"
She nodded. "One month."
"Yes, that seems terribly long hm? Well… I suggest you might consider abortion." He kind of skitted around the subject, as Riza sat up.
"What?! But that's murder!" She glared at him.
"I wasn't asking that of you, I merely suggested it. You see this child has been growing too fast for your body to handle, which explains your bruises, pains and other complications. There is a slight chance you may die during childbirth… Hence why I suggest the abortion…" The doctor walked over to her, setting his hand on her pale shaking one. "We can't quite guarantee whether or not you will die, after all we are not God, but with the risk up there, i'd prefer the safest route."
"I'm having this baby no matter what, and I will not die." Riza solemnly sweared. But some promises are impossible to be kept.
And with that Roy was summoned and was told everything.
"I think you should get an abortion he whispered to her. I can't lose you." He looked at her, puppy dog eyes and all.
Riza softly set his hand on her stomach. "Feel that? She's alive in there If they take her out… she'll die. And she deserves life. She deserves that much. To live love laugh, and experience everything. I can't just kill her for my own well being." She looked up at him. "I have to do this… and I will."
"And I can't stop you." Roy looks down and sobs into his hands.
A/N: Hello, hello! Now before you all get savage and try to murder me with your phones and such, I apologize for being gone. I had no motivation to continue this but i am now going to continue.
Also please do not trust my judgement on the whole doctor diagnosis thing, because I am not sure if women can die while giving birth to big baby, or if it causes bruises or anything. This is a work of fiction, so don't take those things to heart.
As always, please review! I love them!
