It was a mundane live living in North Willows and without Castiel, Dean had found it even more boring than it was- although Sam liked the simplicity of their life. Days were passed without any spectacular event or anything of importance but it made Dean appreciate the little things when they occurred. He constantly had his phone in the pocket of his jeans, feeling his heart rate elevate slightly when he felt his phone buzz against the fabric of his pants. He had found himself constantly messaging Castiel and each time he would scold himself for acting like a teenage girl but his face was always bright when he read what the other man had sent him. It wasn't anything of importance, no, his messages were always updates or small conversations that they use to have.

Hello Dean. We just arrived in Minnesota today. Balthazar is being extremely irritating with his horrible music choices. Don't tell him this but he really likes the spice girls… A LOT, he also really likes Britney Spears. He constantly sings them out loud, he may seem like a tough guy but he really likes generic pop songs. –C

He chuckled at the memory, trying to imagine Balthazar, the man who had a constant intimidating look in his eyes listening to pop songs in his car. He found it a comedic image in his head and couldn't help but laugh out loud before quickly looking around the shop; luckily there was no one there to hear his outburst.

I can't help but try to picture that strange image- it was quite hilarious. I wouldn't have guessed he liked those type of songs. Work is boring as usual, I think Sammy has a girlfriend or likes someone but being the nerdy Sammy he probably doesn't know how to talk to her. He's always coming back late and has this grin on his face. What are you doing in Minnesota? Hope you have fun anyways, come back soon- it's quite dull here. –D

The two brothers pulled up to a bar in an isolated town. The bar wasn't flashy, it was old, and looked worn down. The paint on the wood was slowly peeling off yet there were still a number of cars parked in front of the bar.

"It hasn't changed one bit." Castiel muttered as he walked up to the bar and as the two brothers entered the bar, the loud volume of chatter of the patrons was lowered. There were eyes on the two men as they sat by the stool, Castiel's eyes darted around the room, seeing a familiar faces that had aged since the last time he saw them. He gave them a curt nod and turned his attention to the bartender who had a warm smile to her face.

"Cas, it's good to see you again." She said, leaning over the counter to give him a warm embrace. He returned it stiffly but breathed in her scent, it was still the same. She smelt of pinewood and beer, it did not sound appealing but she smelt comforting.

"It's been a while Jane."

"What can I get you boys?"

"We don't want anything Jane. We're here… to talk." Balthazar said loudly, making sure his voice was heard throughout the room. Eyes turned towards the pair, some looked confused while some, when their eyes met with Balthazar looked away, afraid of what he was about to say.

"So, I'm sure you all heard of Furcas. He's recruiting demons for his army at a fast rate, I think you all know why I'm here, and we need hunters to go against him and his army. He's going to raise an army of demons and god only knows what he'll do next."

The bar was silent; hunters looked at each other with uncertainty. Everyone knew what the consequences were if they were to go against this demon. It was a possible death. Castiel grew impatient and rolled his eyes, "Really? Nothing?"

"Why should we go?" A hunter yelled from his table in the corner, he stood up and walked towards Castiel, "We're going to die if we hunt that thing. If you two are so eager to go against him, go ahead but no one wants to help you. We're not going to risk our lives."

Castiel glared at the man, his blue eyes grew cold and in a spilt second he grabbed the man's collar and slammed him on the counter with his hand on the back of his neck holding his head against the counter and his other locked one arm behind his back.

"You're hunters… We are hunters, we risk our lives every day killing shits like vampires and werewolves and you're afraid of dying now? I've had enough of this Balthazar, they can go and fuck themselves and hide in the shadows while the demons will overrule the world. You lot are pathetic. Pathetic bunch of shit hunters. Fine, if you don't want to come along then don't come." Castiel growled, slamming the man's head against the counter and stormed out of the bar with Balthazar following him.

"Cas…" Balthazar whispered.

Castiel rolled his eyes and slammed the car door shut, "There isn't any use Balthazar. We went to 4 states already. No one wants to help us, no one wants to go against that thing and each day we waste, he gets a bigger army of demons."

"We need their help Cas, you know that. If it's you and me… it's a suicide mission."

"I know… but no one wants to do it. Let's not waste any time. Look here, it's heading and targeting towns towards the north … Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Oregon… Washington..."

"Montana… He's close… He's targeting Idaho now…" Balthazar muttered, glancing towards Castiel.

North Willows was in Montana.

"Cas… you don't think that he'll hit North Willows… will he?"

"Come on, let's go to Idaho. Wake me up when you want to switch."

"Anything on the two brothers?"

"No sir. They're looking for recruits… but no one is interested."

"Good…"

The two brothers instantly fell on the bed of their motel room. They had been driving none stop until they had reached the town of Ashchase in Idaho. This was the town that the latest disappearance had taken place. Furcas had taken people and summoned demons from hell and placed them inside the human body. Some bodies could not take it and had combusted and thus Furcas went looking for new bodies for his demon leaving the body that had failed him behind and that was the way that the two brothers known where he was.

Within a few hours, they woke up and energised themselves with coffee from a local diner.

"Cas… that guy… I think he's following us."

Castiel stole a quick glance at a man sitting a few seats away from them with a cup of coffee in his hand and his eyes, every few seconds would flicker to the two brothers, "He is... come on Bal, do you have the knife?" he muttered and Balthazar brushed his jacket to reveal a glimmer of metal. The knife that could kill a demon with a single stab, they had acquired it during their years of hunting and perhaps breaking into a high security museum to steel it from a bunch of demon.

They paid for their coffee and walked out of the diner, noting that the man did the same. The bald man placed his hands on the pockets of his jacket and followed them into a dark alley before he looked around in confusion; the two men were not there.

"What the-"

"Hello. I think you should come with us unless you want to die." Castiel whispered against his ear with the knife pressed against his neck. Balthazar grabbed his hands and handcuffed him with old handcuffs that had symbols engraved on them, "Just a precaution so you don't smoke out."

They brought the man to an empty, abandoned building where they quickly drew the devil's trap on the ground and Castiel threw the man in, "Now… why were you following us."

He shrugged, "I don't know."

Balthazar sighed, "Just tell us so we don't hurt you. Trust me, we can make you talk."

The man raised his eyebrows, "Really, I don't really care. I'm not going to talk no matter what."

Castiel sighed, "You do care. You get to walk around on earth and not be burnt down there in hell, so we can put you back there or you tell us what we want to know."

"I'll ne-" The man was stopped when Castiel took out a water bottle and splashed him, making his skin sizzle and a loud scream erupted from the man. He cradled his arm against his body while Castiel poured more water over his body, "Please! Stop!"

"Cas… let me do it."

Castiel looked at his brother in surprised, "You? Balthazar, you never do the interrogation."

Balthazar shifted uncomfortably but looked at his brother in concern, "Yes, I never interrogate but you said yourself… you don't want to go back to the way you use to be and this…. This is going to make you go back to being that Castiel again."

Castiel hesitated and shook his head, "No. I agreed to this. When I agreed to come with you… I knew what the consequences were so if your uncomfortable… just wait outside."

Castiel turned his attention back to the man in the floor; steam was rising from his body as he was crying out in pain as Castiel shoved water down his throat. His strong arms holding the man down as he struggled under his grasp. Balthazar was focusing on his brother, frightened by how emotionless his brother was when torturing the man. Balthazar had no problem killing demons and monsters but he could not stomach the interrogation but he couldn't move. It was partially fear, fear of what his brother turned into but he was concerned, a part of him thought that if he was here, Castiel would not torture the demon as much as he would if he was alone.

"Now… answer my questions. What were you doing following us?"

"M-My master… I wanted to please my master…"

"Good. How many are you in this state."

"A-about… 50… t-that's half of the a-army, we're all… staying somewhere waiting for his command… A demon is coming to meet us at the ware house… please…"

"Point out where they are."

The man pointed on a spot with his shaking, bloodied hand before Castiel got up, "Good," He said walking towards Balthazar and swiftly grabbing the knife that was on a sheath against his hips and within seconds and before Balthazar could react, he threw the knife at the man. The knife went through his skull and the man, fell while red and orange lights emitted from his eyes.

"We've got it. Come on." Castiel said, pulling the knife from his head and walking towards the blonde man with the man in his hands.

Balthazar looked at the demon's lifeless body and shook his head, walking behind the dark haired man and into their car, driving away from the scene.

They found the empty warehouse in a junkyard that the demon had pointed too, there were a few demons patrolling outside but the brothers were good at what they did and quickly and quietly killed them- laying their body in the empty woods.

"He's not in there… but there's a lot in there and we can't take them all." Balthazar whispered to Castiel as they were hiding in the shadows that the woods provided, hiding their presences although the demons inside did not seem to notice.

"Look… the windows, they have something covering it. Over each door and window we'll draw the devils trap and salt the outside of the doors and windows so they can't smoke out of the warehouse. You can exorcise them with that megaphone you have in your car. Come on, let's go, I'll take the right side, you take the left." Castiel ordered before moving out of the shadows. The older blonde man had forgotten how smart he was, he was full of tactics but he was not good as escape plans, he chuckled at that memory, Gabriel was always much better at escape plans and Balthazar was good at getting information. They were the perfect team, the three brothers but the team was broken now. He moved out and quickly drew the symbols over the fabric; it was like a first language to him, he had drawn it so many times he could draw the devil's trap in his sleep.

He met with Castiel with a phone that held the recording of the exorcism, the demons inside did not noticed anything. He guessed because he could hear loud idle chatter inside and he had remembered that the bald demon had said that they were supposed to meet at the warehouse for information from another demon that sent out messages from Furcas.

Castiel handed him the megaphone and Balthazar turned it on, clearing his throat before speaking in to the megaphone, "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursion infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.
Ergo draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica adjuramus te.
cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque aeternae Perditionis venenum propinare.
Vade, Satana, inventor et magister omnis fallaciae, hostis humanae salutis.
Humiliare sub potenti manu dei, contremisce et effuge, invocato a nobis sancto et terribili nomine, quem inferi tremunt.
Ab insidiis diaboli, libera nos, Domine.
Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.
Ergo draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica adjuramus te.
Cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque aeternae Perditionis venenum propinare.
Ut Ecclesiam tuam secura tibi facias libertate servire te rogamus, audi nos."

Balthazar could see a bright flash of light that caused him to look away before there was silence. There were no more screaming from the demons inside but just silence of the night. He looked at Castiel who stood beside him and finally he smiled, "The past few weeks has been shitty… but this… we did pretty good huh?" Balthazar said and Castiel nodded.

"Yeah… it was good."

"Come on, let's go to the motel. Let that fucking demon come and give the message to Furcas that most of his army is dead." Balthazar grinned, walking back to the car.

"By the way… why do you have a megaphone in your car anyways?"

"Oh, there was this case…"

It was strange for the two brothers to be in good spirits but they were for most of the weeks that they had been on the road was tense and frustrating. Frustrating with a combination of infuriating since every single hunter they had met had blatantly rejected them but the outcome of tonight had brought them in high spirits because now at least the two brothers had a fighting chance at survival.

That was good enough for them.

"Sir! Master… they… the army… they are all gone!"

"What do you mean you fool?! Gone? What, they left me?!"

"No sir… master… they are all dead! Exorcised! There were salt and devil's trap all around the exits and entrances… even I could not enter, I had to call upon the human police… do you think… master… it can't be… there were about 50 in there… could the two brothers have done this?"

"Possibly… most likely… They have hurt and killed my army… My plans have been set back because of those two… find everything you can about the younger one, the one that made the deal with that crossroad demon and then disappeared. His case is curious… Find everything you can and get back to me immediately. I'll make him pay… and I'll make him suffer."

A/N: Woop, another chapter! I was rewatching some old episodes of Supernatural the other day and it was the episode with Lily- I think it was called 'Jus in Bello' where Dean and Sam were stuck in the police station with the demons surrounding them and Sam exorcised them via the recording of his voice and it was played over a speaker. I really liked that episode so I wanted to in cooperate that into the story. It was no way my idea. I actually changed the name of the story for a while to 'slowly exhale' but I changed it back since a friend of my thought I didn't update the story- there was a confusion : )

I think the story will be coming to an end soon, maybe in a few more chapters? I'll see how it runs and how much I write. Hope you enjoyed this chapter, review please! : ) Reviews literally make me happy so please, don't read and run : )

Thank you for reading :*
