I am so sorry for the wait. I've been writing nearly everyday, but I've been SO SO BUSY! AH! It's quite frustrating.
Anyway, here's chapter nineteen. I've never ever written smut (not that this is really that smutty) so go easy on me, and helpful tips would be most welcome!
So go on, read it! I'll see you all at the end.
Chapter 19
Drizzle
Fili
When Fili woke up, the first thing he did was pull the blankets up, shivering from where the cool air of his bedroom met the bare skin of his chest and shoulders. The morning light in the room was even dimmer than usual, which led him to believe that it was probably cloudy outside, if not still storming. And that gave him every reason to remain exactly where he was.
The blonde smiled to himself and rolled over, in search of his brunette half, only to find the other side of the bed to be completely void of all life forms. He brushed his hand over where Kili had slept and found it still warm, so he obviously hadn't been gone too long. That still didn't stop Fili from feeling the disappointment of waking up alone.
Luckily, Fili didn't have to wait long until the door to his bedroom creaked open, and Kili came tiptoeing in. He still had the glow of sleep hovering on him, his hair was an absolute mess, and he was now wearing one of Fili's warmest - and ugliest - winter sweaters and the boxer briefs he'd been loaned.
"What's with the sweater?" Fili croaked, startling the younger boy.
"Fee, you scared me," he said, a hand clutched over his chest. "I thought you were still asleep."
Fili grinned. "That doesn't answer my question."
Kili smiled back and crawled into the bed once more, tangling himself around Fili. "I was cold, and I had to pee. It was the first thing I found."
"You're always cold, which doesn't explain why you also discarded the pajama pants that I oh-so-kindly allowed you to borrow."
"Mmm." Kili hummed and snuggled closer, throwing a leg over Fili's own. "Too uncomfortable. Too restricting."
Fili hummed back in response and poked the brunette in the side, causing him to jerk slightly and his leg to shift, his knee nearly landing in Fili's crotch. He silently hoped Kili wouldn't notice the morning situation he was having in his pants.
"So," Kili sighed, his breath brushing across Fili's neck, "how about that date we discussed? Still up for going to the beach today? The weather doesn't look like it will be forgiving."
"I like this weather. As long as there's no lightning, we'll be fine."
"Great answer," Kili said, dropping a kiss on Fili's jaw. "Because we were still going whether you agreed to or not."
Fili snorted and tilted his head to give Kili better access to his neck, and the brunette seized the opportunity with fervor, leaving hot, open-mouthed kisses all along his jaw and throat, each of them leaving the blonde more and more breathless. Fili felt the problem between his legs worsen.
"Kee," he groaned out breathlessly, clutching the back of the other boy's sweater. "You should stop."
"Why? Don't you like it?" Kili leaned back to look down at Fili, a slight frown furrowing his eyebrows.
"No, I do," Fili rushed to explain. "I think I might just like it a little bit too much."
Kili's frown turned to a smirk, and he leaned back down to catch Fili's lips in a searing kiss. The blonde pulled weakly on the back of the sweater, trying to stop Kili, but honestly couldn't find it in himself to truly do so.
He let go of the sweater, instead laying his hand flat against the younger boy's back to urge him closer, deepening the kiss, and Kili took that as his cue to go a little further. He reached down between them, a smirk still on his lips, and cupped the hard bulge at the front of Fili's pants.
Fili squeezed his eyes shut and sucked air through his teeth, hissing pleasurably at the feeling of a warm palm rubbing him softly through his pajamas, causing Kili's already smug grin to broaden.
"Morning wood is nothing to be ashamed of," Kili breathed, and Fili forced himself to open his eyes again to lock gazes with the gorgeous man looming over him. "It's normal."
"Where's yours, then?" the blonde retorted, wondering if Kili was anywhere near as aroused as he was.
"Already took care of it," Kili explained. He removed his hand from Fili and replaced it with his leg, wedging it in between Fili's own, and began rocking gently into the shorter boy. "When I went to the bathroom."
Fili let out a soft moan at the image of Kili getting off in the bathroom - in Fili's own clothes, no less. The brunette ground down a little harder at the sound, and Fili had to bite his lip to keep his noise level to a minimum, not wanting to alert Bilbo or Thorin.
"Do you like that, Fee? Imagining me getting off down the hall from where you were sleeping?"
Fili gave a brief nod, not trusting his voice, and Kili leaned down, his breath tickling Fili's ear as he continued in a whisper. "I thought of you the whole time. It left me completely spent, but if you keep making those noises, I could probably get it up again."
Fili gripped Kili's waist, suddenly rolling his hips up, into the younger boy, and let out a deep, guttural groan, hovering on the edge of orgasm. He hadn't exactly been with many people, and he was technically still a virgin; it wouldn't take a ton to finish him off.
"Are you close, Fee?"
Fili nodded frantically, squeezing his eyes shut, focusing on the warm weight of Kili's body atop his own. He smelled like a mixture of earth and a deep spice, and the smell was intoxicating, spurring Fili to roll his hips slightly faster, pitiful moans escaping between his lips.
"Boys!" A sharp rap came at the door, and both men came to a dead halt. "Breakfast is ready! And if you want any, you'd better get your lazy bones out of bed and come get it!"
"Coming!" Kili called back, his voice just a couple octaves too high.
They listened as Bilbo padded away from the bedroom door.
"Fuck," Fili groaned, wiping his hands over his face in frustration.
"Later, tiger," Kili smirked and climbed off of the blonde, not even looking a tiny bit embarrassed, and retrieved the pajama pants Fili had loaned him from the floor. Fili still couldn't understand how the usually-shy boy could be so confident in the bedroom, but he wasn't necessarily complaining.
"Come on, Fee," Kili grinned, grabbing Fili's arm and pulling him out of the bed. "I'm hungry."
Fili grumbled in complaint but threw on a shirt and adjusted himself in his pants before following the brunette downstairs.
"We thought you two might never wake up," Thorin said, looking up from the paper he was reading at the table. The food had already been laid out, and the boys took seats across from each other and began piling their plates with eggs, bacon and toast.
Fili cleared his throat. "We woke up a while ago. We've just been, uh, relaxing. You know - enjoying the weather."
Bilbo and Thorin exchanged a look, and Thorin sat down his newspaper to eat. Fili couldn't stop the blush that rose to his face.
"What are you two going to do today?" Bilbo asked cheerfully, stirring some honey into the bowl of oatmeal he had dished up for himself.
"We were thinking of going to the beach," Kili replied enthusiastically.
"The beach? It seems a bit wet outside for the beach," Thorin noted.
Kili waved him off. "It's the ocean. It's already wet, so I'm sure we'll survive. I could use a little fresh air," he replied, and then, much to Fili's horror, placed a sock-clad foot right in Fili's lap. "How about you, Fee?"
"Same," Fili squeaked, before resolving into a fake coughing fit in order to cover his unnatural voice.
Kili grinned at him, and to anyone else it would've looked completely innocent, but it hardly looked that way to Fili, as the brunette was slowly massaging the blonde's still uncomfortably-hard erection. It took everything in Fili not to spit out his food when Kili gave a particularly firm rub. He managed to keep his food in his mouth but couldn't help the small whimper he emitted.
"Fili?" Bilbo gave him a concerned look, a spoonful of hot cereal halfway to his open mouth. "Are you alright?"
"Fine. I'm fine. I just choked a little bit."
"It didn't sound like you were choking," Kili said.
Fili locked eyes with the boy across from him and attempted to give him a threatening glare, but it was really more of a small frown. "I was."
"If you say so."
After staring at the brunette for a couple of moments, Fili pushed his chair back and stood. "I'll be right back. I'm just going to use the restroom."
Fili didn't miss Kili's smirk, and he turned away quickly and headed towards the downstairs bathroom, trying not to limp from the raging arousal between his legs. He all but failed.
Unlike the restroom upstairs, this one was a lot more normal - since it was the one that guests usually used. The tub, toilet and sink were all porcelain, and the floor was a creamy tile, which matched the eggshell-colored walls. Fili could recognize it for it's simple, clean prettiness, but it wasn't really his favorite bathroom. He just wished there was more color, because all the white usually made him feel antsy, but right at that moment it was a complete safe haven.
He sighed and stared down at the offending tent in his pajama bottoms. He was normally so much better at controlling himself, but something about Kili made him feel needy with want. Plus, he hadn't exactly gotten the chance to take care of his morning business. In fact, Kili had traipsed right in and made the issue a thousand times worse.
After slight hesitation, Fili reached down the front of his pants and palmed himself, sighing from the relief it brought. After being so strung out, the slightest bit of friction felt heaven-sent. Without wasting to much time, he began stroking himself in earnest. He groaned quietly as his thumb ran over the tip, dipping shallowly into the slit as it went.
It wasn't hard for him to imagine it was Kili's hand, instead of his; a roughened palm and fingers treading over the silky-smooth skin of his cock. He imagined Kili would lean over him, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses to his throat and jaw, whispering encouragements, as well as all the filthy things he was going to do to him.
Fili's jaw clenched in concentration as he quickened his pace. Just the thought that Kili was a mere thirty feet away from where he stood was enough to get him off. Especially since the brunette probably knew exactly what he was up to. Fili secretly hoped Kili ended up with a problematic erection of his own.
Before too long, Fili was coming, spilling ver his fingers with a particularly loud moan that he tried to stifle with his unoccupied hand. After being teased for such a long time, the orgasm that tore through him was stronger than most he had experienced, and it was all he could do to stay on his feet, stars bursting behind his shut eyelids.
Fili released himself and gripped onto the edge of the countertop, trying to catch his breath, and glanced at himself in the mirror with a grimace. Between the white pearls dribbling down his hand and the obvious flush on his face, it was going to be a few moments before he could return to breakfast.
It turned out that it wasn't as cold outside as it looked, although it was definitely not warm. Even though it was a bit windy, and a light drizzle was falling from the grey sky, Fili and Kili felt decent enough as they walked in the sand, barefoot and clad in pull-over hoodies. They were completely alone, save for one guy power-walking in a blue man was also wearing sunglasses and had large headphones on. Fili felt both amused and creeped-out by him.
"How about here?" Kili asked, stopping. They had reached a large, clean, dry spot of sand, fairly close to the water, but not close enough that they'd get wet if a particularly large wave came.
"It's perfect."
The two of them sat down, shoulder to shoulder, and Kili unravelled the quilt he'd been carrying, to wrap it around the booth of them, in order to fend off the worst of the chilly sea breeze.
Fili snuggled up to the younger boy, trying to steal some body warmth, and looked out at the grey water. He felt the calmest on gloomy days such as this, and he was finally, after what had felt like a lifetime, able to relax and smile, genuinely content with the moment.
"What's got you grinning like such a fool?" Kili questioned, eyes bright as he took in Fili's happy expression.
"You," Fili mumbled in response. He knew his embarrassment was plain but decided he didn't care. "This weather," he continued. "The ocean. Right now."
"Sure it's not the creepy guy that's walked by, like, three times?"
Fili snorted. "It's definitely not him."
Kili smiled warmly, his chocolate eyes sparkling with happiness. "You're the best."
Fili waved a hand, dismissing the compliment.
"No, it's true," Kili continued, laying his head on Fili's shoulder. "You really are, and you'd better believe it. I have trust issues, Fili. I've never gotten on with most of the people my age, and we haven't even known each other for that long, and you've been so good to me. I feel cared about and safe with you. No one has ever made me feel like that."
Fili was touched - more than that, really - and tried to keep the emotion out of his voice when he replied. "How? You're so friendly. I'm sure loads of people have wanted to be your…friend. And make you happy."
"Nope," Kili sighed, pulling the blanket tighter around them. Fili hadn't even noticed he was shivering until that moment, and he ran a warm, soothing hand up and down Kili's back. "Just Ori, and he's a good friend, but it's not the same as with you."
"I should hope not," Fili joked, unsure of how to reply. He was ordinarily a charismatic guy, but something about Kili always had him tongue-tied.
There was a brief pause before Kili said anything, the both of them staring at the harsh current the wind was creating.
"Why didn't you ever tell them?"
"Hmm?" Fili hummed.
"Bilbo and Thorin? Or even Tauriel or Legolas, for that matter. Why didn't you ever tell them about your parents?"
Fili swallowed around the sudden lump in his throat. He hated talking about his first adoptive parents, considering he didn't have a single fond memory of them. "I-I don't know. Sometimes I'd consider it, but then I'd think that maybe they wouldn't believe me. Or that they would and then make a huge deal out of it and never allow me to leave the house again. I was scared."
"They would've believed you," Kili said. "I'm pretty sure they would never expect you to lie about something that serious, and I guarantee they would've helped you. I think you could've avoided the alcohol."
"I know turning to alcohol wasn't the best decision." Fili replied bitterly. "I've regretted it for years, and I will undoubtedly regret it for the rest of my life."
"Hey." The brunette lifted his head, giving the blonde a soft look. "I didn't mean to upset you. I don't think you should dwell over it forever. You need to move on and enjoy the rest of your life. I want to help you do that." He paused, lifting a hand to Fili's scruffy cheek. "I want to help you more than anything else in this world; I want you to be happy."
Fili closed his eyes and lifted his hand to place it over Kili's, resisting the urge to cry. He'd been too weepy lately for his own liking. Though, when he spoke, his voice was still thick with unshed tears. "Thank you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I promise I'll return the favor one day."
Kili laughed, causing the older boy to open his eyes again, and leaned over to kiss Fili on the cheek. "You already have. Just by being here with me."
Fili broke into a grin and leaned forward to give Kili a chaste kiss, revealing at the warm, soft feeling of it.
After he pulled back, Fili grinned at the younger boy, a mischievous glint in his blue eyes. "What happened to you 'courting me?' Aren't you supposed to be all romantic and shit? I'm not exactly feeling wooed."
"Oh?" Kili chuckled. "You want me to woo you?"
"I was hoping you might."
"I think I can manage that," Kili broke into a grin and reached up to cup Fili's face in his hands, chocolate eyes boring into cerulean ones. "Although," he added, his expression softening, "I haven't really ever wooed someone before. Honestly, I might be total crap at it."
"I'm easy," Fili said.
"Is that so?" Kili replied with a lifted eyebrow.
Fili rolled his eyes and smiled softly, cheeks dimpling. "You know what I mean."
"Not sure that I do."
The older boy laughed and leaned forward to rest his forehead against Kili's. "Then let me explain. I'm a picky person. In my twenty-three years of life, I haven't found anyone I liked enough to have a serious relationship with. Until you."
Kili flushed and his eyes flickered down momentarily. "Go on."
"When I met you, it was the most amazing, indescribable feeling. You were perfect; kind, reserved, friendly… and, of course, more than a little bit cheeky. The moment we began talking, all of my walls crumbled down. For you."
"So," Kili said, brushing a thumb along one of Fili's cheeks, which was reddened from the cold breeze. "You're only easy for me?"
"Exactly."
"How easy?"
Fili hesitated, unsure of how to answer. He wasn't exactly positive if it would take Kili any effort at all, really, to romance him. He was already falling for the boy, so he felt that they ere slightly passed the 'courting' stage, but he still wanted to play the game; to experience every aspect of a normal relationship, from start to finish.
"Well," he finally began, tilting his head so that their noses brushed, the small flecks of black and gold in Kili's eyes visible at such a distance, "for instance, being this close to you sends chills down my spine. Your scent - that deep, spicy smell that's always clinging to you - drives me absolutely wild."
Fili paused and started to shift into Kili's lap, until he straddled the younger boy's thighs, their position having become uncomfortable. Kili didn't speak, but kept his eyes locked on the blonde's.
"The way you dress," Fili continued, "completely covered all of the time, leaving everything to my imagination, makes me insane. And your hair - the dark, molasses color of it, and it's long length, inspires all sorts of fantasies in my mind: running my fingers through it when you pull it out of a bun, after a long day at work, burying my face in it while we sleep, pulling on it while we-"
"Okay, you can stop," Kili breathed, interrupting. "I thought I was supposed to be the one wooing you, not the other way around."
"What I'm saying is that just by being you, you will woo me. You don't have to go out of your way to be romantic or anything."
"But you'd like that," Kili said.
It wasn't a question, but Fili nodded. "I can't help it. I'm kind of a hopeless romantic."
"So am I," Kili replied, before placing a soft kiss on Fili's nose. "You're cold," he added.
"Why don't you warm me up, then?" Fili wasn't sure where his sudden confidence was coming from, but he was suddenly quite comfortable with Kili, and he was finally starting to realize how desperately he cared for the brunette, and now, apparently his mind was allowing him to be more open and charismatic, because of it. Well, he wasn't going to complain.
Kili moved his hands to bury them in Fili's thick hair, and gripped the back of the blonde's neck, pulling him in for a desperate kiss.
The heat built between them quickly, and Fili gently rocked his hips against Kili's, allowing the younger boy into his mouth when he tongued along the seam of Fili's lips. The two devoured each other, tongues fighting for dominance, and just when Fili thought it would become too much - a little too inappropriate for a public place - Kili fell backwards, taking Fili with him, and the two ended up in a giggling heap of limbs.
"Why on earth did you do that?" Fili laughed. He was sprawled atop the younger boy and had his hands planted firmly on Kili's chest. That rich smell of spices wafted up towards him, and it was all he could do to stop himself from grinding down onto the other boy again.
"I thought I could be graceful," Kili replied, with the best shrug he could muster. "Apparently I was wrong."
"Apparently so."
The two laughed for a moment, and then suddenly Kili stopped and frowned up at Fili. "Did you just spit on me?"
"What? No!"
"Then I think the rain might be picking up."
Sure enough, it wasn't long before Fili felt a couple of large drops soak through his hoodie and wet his shirt.
"Should we leave?" Fili asked.
Kili let out a long sigh. "Give it a couple minutes," he spoke, running his hands up and down Fili's sides. "It might pass."
A couple minutes later found the two boys racing towards the car. The sky had completely opened up and was dumping an obscene amount of rain upon them. It didn't dampen their moods, however, as they ran, pushing each other around playfully, until they were forced to grasp hands and sprint the rest of the distance, thunder booming loudly overhead.
After they'd climbed inside the jeep and turned the heater on to full blast, the two boys looked at each other and burst into a fit of laughter.
"That was so fun!" Fili exclaimed, face red from exertion. "Thank you."
"Oh, I'm not done with you yet," Kili tutted. "Lunch and a movie next! After we're a little more dry, of course."
Fili grinned form ear to ear. "And what shall we do until then?"
"I can think of a few things."
Fili leaned across the middle console, towards the brunette, a small smirk tugging at his lips. "Show me."
Bilbo
To say that Bilbo was tired would've been quite an understatement. After a very long morning of running to and from the coffee shop, bookstore and home, he wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed with a warm cup of tea and read the rest of the day away.
The short man muttered to himself as he climbed the small steps to their front door, fumbling with his keys. The rain was still falling quite heavily, which wasn't making it easy for him to keep his eyes open - much less see - and he could already feel the water seeping through his clothes.
"Blast these keys!" he cried as he dropped the key ring, stamping his foot.
He bent down to pick them up and realized there was a person standing on his lawn, not far from him, that he hadn't noticed before. It was a little odd for someone to be on his lawn, since strangers never ventured all the way down their extensive driveway, but Bilbo straightened up and turned to him, nonetheless.
"My apologies," he coughed, trying his best to appear friendly. "Uh… may I help you?"
"I was sent to deliver this," the man replied, approaching Bilbo, an envelope held out for him to take. The man looked bored and perhaps a bit annoyed, most likely due to having to deliver a letter in such weather, but didn't appear to be a threat, so Bilbo reached out and took the envelope.
"Thank you."
The man didn't respond, but turned on his heel and stalked off, head bent against the merciless wind.
Bilbo watched him for a moment before fumbling with his keys once more, until he at last found the proper one and let himself into the house.
Even though he was shivering from his soaked clothes, Bilbo momentarily shoved his personal comfort aside and looked curiously down at the letter he held. It had nothing but Fili's name on it; no address or anything, and it was very light and flat. Normally Bilbo wouldn't snoop, but he felt slightly suspicious, and he tore open the envelope, purely out of the desire to keep his son safe.
Inside was a small piece of journal paper, folded in half. Bilbo flipped it open and read:
Fili -
Saw you at the beach.
Who's the boy?
The small man frowned. It wasn't signed by anyone, and in fact held no clues at all as to who had sent it. But, then again, it was addressed to Fili, so maybe he would know.
With a shake of his head, Bilbo set the letter on the counter, deciding to ask Thorin about it later, to see what he thought. then he toddled off to the bedroom in search of some dry, warm clothes, humming to himself as he went.
Please let me know what you think. I'd truly love to know! Also, this little scene of Bilbo at the end was meant for the next chapter, but since you guys have waited so patiently, I decided to treat you. ;) Thanks for reading!
Until next time...
