I should Kill Him part 8
Chakotay and Tuvok walked into the brig.
"Ensign, take a walk" Chakotay barked.
The young security officer turned on his heels and walked out of the brig. Tuvok stood in front of the cell Paris was sitting in. The sandy haired man sat on the bunk head in hand. Chakotay turned off the force field and stood by while Tuvok entered the cell.
"Lieutenant Paris I am here to find out what happen two nights ago as well as last night in engineering." Tuvok waited for a response from the young man. When one was not forthcoming he decided to address him more sternly.
"Lieutenant Thomas Eugene Paris you here by stand accused of assaulting a senior office and are charge with the rape of Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Tom sat silently again. This time Tuvok left the cell and looked back at Chakotay. The large man stalked into the cell and grabbed Paris by his Uniform from and pulled him to his feet. He shoved the other man against the cell wall and open handedly slapped him.
"Listen here you piece of shit either you answer the Lieutenant Commander's question or you will answer to me. So choose."
Tom final looked him in the eye. Chakotay could see something was wrong. Paris looked ill. He was shaking and paler than usual and he was sweating profusely. Chakotay held Paris at arm's length.
"Tuvok something is wrong with him."
Tuvok came back in the room and looked at Paris. He was ill that much is sure.
"Commander we will put him on the bunk and call the doctor to attend to him. We have other people we need to question." Tuvok and Chakotay put Paris back on the bunk and raised the force field.
"Tuvok to sickbay."
"Doctor here."
"Doctor at your convenience please report to the Brig and check on Mister Paris."
"Is something wrong Lieutenant?"
"Mister Paris appears to be ill. At your convenience Doctor."
"Aye Sir."
Chakotay and Tuvok left to go find Harry Kim.

B'Elanna and Kathryn left sickbay and made their way to Kathryn's quarters. B'Elanna was in a great deal of discomfort not that she would let anyone notice. Kathryn had her arm around her waist walking beside her. When they got to the turbo-lift they parted so that anyone getting off could. The lift opened and much to B'Elanna's appreciation it was empty. Once inside B'Elanna exhaled and wrapped her arms around Kathryn's waist hugging her. She buried her face in Kathryn's neck and inhaled deeply. Kathryn held her tightly she rubber her hands up and down the younger woman's back.
"Thank you," B'Elanna whispered.
"For what?"
B'Elanna lifted her head and looked deep into those mini warpcores.
"For being you; and for staying with me."
"Well you see I kinda like you so I would pretty much do anything for you," Kathryn smirked her Midwestern accent making a rare appearance.
B'Elanna giggled but her smile was sad. Kathryn noticed.
"Hey I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you again."
"No, no it's ok. I think I am still in such shock. I have a lot to think about I guess."
The lift stopped and they walked out onto deck 2. The halls were still bright being the middle of Alpha shift and Kathryn technically should be on the bridge right now. She stopped outside her quarters and tuned and looked at B'Elanna.
"I really should make an appearance at least on the bridge."
B'Elanna's face dropped; reality suddenly rushing back to her. Kathryn was her Captain and had a lot to be responsible for not just her. She started feeling a knot in her chest and anxiety she had never felt before. It bothered the hell out of her. She had to be alone now and she wasn't sure if she could handle it. She hated being week and hated Tom even more for making her feel this way.
Kathryn placed her hands lightly on B'Elanna's cheeks. The younger woman snapped out of her reprieve and looked into Kathryn's concerned eyes.
"I'm ok," B'Elanna whispered.
Kathryn pulled her closer her lips hovering over hers.
"Liar," Kathryn said before kissing her.
Kathryn moved them toward the door and slapped her panel to open the door. She held onto B'Elanna so she would move with her. They parted and B'Elanna looked dazed into her eyes.
"You kissed me in the open. Aren't you afraid of someone seeing us?"
"Hey don't put those shit thoughts into my head please. I have enough mentally I am fighting without that one."
B'Elanna looked at her intrigued.
"Oh really? And what demons are plaguing the mind of our fearless leader?"
Kathryn smirked. She looked over at the window and at the assortment of stuff she had around her quarters. Her eyes fell on the Claymore on her wall and then darted back to B'Elanna's.
"Let's just say I have a lot of anger right now and I am trying to hold it at bay."
B'Elanna wrapped her in a fierce hug. She knew Kathryn had to be fighting a lot of emotions but she also knew she was a strong resilient woman that wouldn't let those emotions control her.
"Kathryn, I. . . "
Kathryn placed her finger on B'Elanna's lips.
"I don't want to hear anything negative out of you my dear. I want you to go take a nice hot bath. I have to run up to the bridge for a while. I have to talk with Tuvok and Chakotay and then sort out some other things."
"What should I do after my bath?"
Kathryn smirked.
"You can make yourself at home and do whatever you like."

Tuvok and Chakotay burst onto the bridge and looked over at the OPS station.
"Mr. Kim will you please accompany the commander and I to the briefing room," Tuvok spoke.
"Just a moment sirs, I want to finish this report it will only take a minute," Harry answered.
"It is not a request Ensign. Briefing room. Now," Chakotay exclaimed.
Harry walked away from his station and into the large room behind him. He waited for his senior officers to walk in and sit before he did.
"What is this about," Harry asked.
"Mister Kim when you were with Mr. Paris on the Holodeck last night was he behaving erratically," Tuvok asked.
Harry was hesitant to answer. He didn't want to get Tom into any trouble.
"Harry, Tom is in some really big trouble here. We need you tell us what you know," Chakotay explained.
Harry's shoulders slumped down.
"He has been acting weird for a while now."
"When did it start," Chakotay asked.
"After we left Talaris about two weeks ago I think. He stated going getting edgy at first. When we went to the holodeck last night he was just mean. He was drinking a lot but I caught him putting something into his drinks."
"Like what?"
"I'm not sure. It was some kind of liquid. It was as if he was spiking his own drinks."
Tuvok and Chakotay looked at each other.
"Lieutenant I think we have to do a search of Tom's quarters and have the Doctor test him for narcotic substances."
"Agreed."
"Harry, thank you."
"What did he do Commander?"
"It's not for me to say. But know it was inexcusable and unforgivable."
Chakotay and Tuvok left a bewildered Harry Kim sitting in the conference room thinking. What could Tom possibly have done this time?

Kathryn walked out onto the Bridge and made her way to her ready room. Tuvok and Chakotay where exiting the briefing room at that moment.
"Gentlemen, my ready room."
After the entered Kathryn sat behind her desk.
"What have you found out?"
They looked at each other.
"Well Captain we went to speak with Paris and he is in a bad way," Chakotay offered.
"Meaning?"
"He appeared severely ill. We have notified the Doctor," Tuvok reported.
"What else?"
"Ensign Kim informed us that he has noticed Tom do strange things on their personal time together as well, He thinks Tom has been taking something and mixing it with synth-ale," Chakotay finished.
Kathryn looked at him sideways. Thinking about what it could all mean.
"Do you think drugs are an explanation for his sudden mental shift?" Kathryn didn't dismiss the possibility. It would certain explain his immense strength.
"What do you plan to do next?"
"The commander suggest we search his quarters for this substance Mister Kim reported he saw Mister Paris putting in his drinks," Tuvok explained their next course of action.
"Thank You both. As you were." Kathryn dismissed them.
She sat pondering what she needed to do next. She needed to get B'Elanna new quarters but she was in no rush to do that. She wanted to go down to the brig and kick the snot out of her Pilot. She stopped. What was she going to do about that situation? He was the best pilot on the ship and she needed his skills at the helm but she couldn't let him out of the brig. He assaulted her and raped. . . The thought brought the rage and appalled feeling back to her. She needed to think. Focus on her tasks before she really went down to the brig and kicked the living piss out of Tom.
"Computer, compile a list of all crew members on board with significant piloting training; excluding Lieutenant Paris and Commander Chakotay."
The computer beep in acknowledgment. Kathryn sat staring out of the window. She had to go over this list with Chakotay and find the best candidate to take over as her pilot. She also thought about what to do for B'Elanna. She wanted to take away her pain and help her in any way possible. She knew she would have to set her up with new quarters but she wasn't sure she was ready to let her leave. She knew she was being selfish but she couldn't help it.
"Computer pull up a schematic showing all unassigned quarters."

B'Elanna rested her head on the side of the tub feeling the hot water soother her achy muscles. The smell of vanilla and lavender made her head swim. She felt relaxed for the first time in three days. She knew Kathryn would be working for a while so she thought about what to do next to pass the time. She saw a large case of books on the far wall of her living space. They were old books. She thought about sending Kathryn a message asking if she could read one. She needed the distraction she needed a way to get this nightmare out of her mind. She hoped reading will help. She knew he was in the brig and Chakotay and Tuvok will find out why he did it. Not that she really cared why. She wanted to smash his face in for making her seem weak. She hated him for defiling her. He was supposed to protect her and love and cherish her. But he did this. He made her a shaking scared mess afraid to be alone.
Her heart started pounding, vision blurred and her hands shacked in rage. She was wound up that's for sure. She needed to do something. She unplugged the tub and wrapped herself in a big fluffy towel. She walked over to Kathryn's desk and signed in with her credentials. She looked through her messages and responded to her department heads to get things done in engineering. She sat and thought about either sending Kathryn a message or going to the holodeck.

Chakotay and Tuvok looked through all of Tom's belongings and through things in the living quarters. Tuvok stood by the window in the quarters.
"If I were Tom and high on gods know what where would I hide the bottle so my wife wouldn't find it?" Chakotay asked aloud.
"In a location Lieutenant Torres does not frequent." Tuvok offered.
"Or in a draw or book or under something B'Elanna would have no reason to be."
Chakotay walked over to the desk and checked the draws. They were all unlocked except the top center. He looked up at Tuvok. He nodded at the Vulcan. Tuvok came around the desk and forced the draw open. Chakotay emptied the contents onto the desk. There was nothing in it that looked like a bottle or vial.
"Damn it." Chakotay whispered.
Tuvok watched as Chakotay paced around the room. He could hear Chakotay's thoughts racing through his mind. Not staying on one option long before jumping to the next. His thoughts suddenly stopped. He was staring at the book case along the aft wall. He walked over to it examining one book in particular.
"Commander?"
Chakotay picked up the ancient looking leather bound book.
"Tuvok do you know what a hollow book is," Chakotay asked.
"I have heard of them, though I have not seen one."
Chakotay handed the book to Tuvok. The security opened it and seeing for the first time a hollow book with between fifteen and twenty vials of a deep purple substance. Tuvok placed the book down on the desk and lifted on of the vials. He scrutinized it watching a slight black cloud swirl through the liquid as he slightly shook the vial.
"I think we found Tom's stash." Chakotay said.

Kathryn paced around her ready room. She had forced herself to finish departmental reports and filing one of her own about the incident with Tom and B'Elanna. She was about to head back to her quarters for the rest of the day and to check on B'Elanna.
"Chakotay to Janeway."
She tapped her commbadge.
"Janeway here. What have you found Commander?"
"Captain please met Tuvok and I in sickbay. We found a substance we believe to be what Mr. Kim said he saw Tom using."
"On my way. Janeway out."
She had hoped, prayed almost that this wasn't drug related. It would give her a reason to beat Tom into a coma but now. Now she had to settle with the withdrawal he would suffer through and a good talking to. She would have to tell B'Elanna too. She felt a migraine forming.
