I would like to thank you for the wonderful reviews LaJoyMechell, follows and favourites. I thankfully already have the next chapter written, so I just need to type and proofread it. I hope to have it done this weekend.
All she wanted to do was recover before she could face the others.
All they wanted was to help her recover, so she could face the others.
She knew that they cared for her, but she didn't want to be seen as week.
They cared for her; they didn't see her as week and just wanted the opportunity to show her.
"I've got her!" Beale pumped his fist into the air, but sheepishly looked around when he noticed he was alone. He looked at his watch and realized it was 4:30 in the morning. He was bleary eyed, having waited for the computers to do their thing. He had to expand his search criteria multiple times. He didn't expect to find her where he did.
He went down the stairs two at a time, noticing for the first time that it was dark everywhere. Hetty seemed to be sleeping at her desk.
"Hetty." He timidly said, as he approached her desk.
"Did you find anything Mr. Beale?" she sat up with a start. Eric wondered how she woke up flawlessly.
"Yes, I finally found a glimpse of her. Only a three second clip"
"Call everyone to HQ."
"I already done that."
Deeks couldn't wait to get to HQ. He had spent hours waiting at her apartment, in case she came back. Now he needed to see for himself if it was her. It had already been hours since she had medical help. Who knew what damage she had done to herself?
Deeks ran up the stairs three at a time. He was panting by the time he entered OPs. Callen, Eric, Sam and Hetty had been looking at the three second video over and over again; trying to see if they could see anything differently.
Deeks leaned against the table hearing and staring at the image of Kensi on the screen. Callen and Sam looked up and realized he was there.
"Deeks we can only see her for a few moments, but she seems to be going towards the run down area of downtown. There are some businesses around there. We've just been waiting for you. Does she look worse than the last time you saw her?"
"She looks about the same." Deeks didn't know how he was feeling seeing her. She looked tired, but that was to be expected.
The guys stepped out of their car, looking around. Each of them thinking that this was a terrible area, but if this is where Kensi was last seen, then this is where they would search for her.
The guys automatically separated. Sam went down the south side and Deeks and Callen going down the north side. Callen wanting to make sure Deeks was okay.
Every place Sam entered had never seen her. A few places stalled answering, angering the federal agent. He wasted his time grilling them, when he realized it was futile. They all didn't know who and where she was.
Callen didn't know how Deeks would act, but realized why he was so successful at what he did. Deeks words and actions belied his anxiety. He managed to get everyone to answer his questions, but no one had seen Kensi. One person thought they knew her. But it was a false alarm. If Callen didn't know better, he would believe Deeks was searching for a stranger.
They met up at the end of the road. Frustrated that no one had seen Kensi. "She can't have disappeared into thin air!" Deeks huffed in frustration. He was gesturing everywhere. He looked up where his right hand was pointing and realized there was an alley they hadn't noticed before.
They went down the previously hidden alley and saw a run-down coffee shop at the end.
"Have you seen this woman?" Deeks asked the guy behind the counter.
"No, I've never seen her." Deeks turned around to leave when Sam noticed the beads of sweat break out on the guy's forehead.
"Wait. She is really sick. She nearly died a few days ago. We need to find her!"
The coffee shop owner had promised to never betray Kensi, but if her life was in danger, then it really wasn't a betrayal, was it? Hopefully she would forgive him.
"Look, I honestly don't know where she went. But I can tell you she picked up her package and a coffee."
"Can you at least tell us when she left?"
"It was yesterday afternoon. She did not look like she had much energy. For what it is worth, I hope you find her."
"Okay thanks."
This was the first glimmer of hope the guys had all morning. They raced back to HQ, each in their own thoughts.
"Eric can you look up any vehicle that left that area yesterday afternoon?"
"On it!"
The guys leaned against the middle table while they waited for Eric to do his thing. They were praying that he would find something soon.
They were concentrating so much they didn't hear Hetty approach them from behind. "Gentlemen, were you successful this morning in locating Ms. Blye?"
"No, but we know she left that area yesterday afternoon. We are just waiting for Eric to do his thing."
Eric was able to tune out the guys and Hetty. He just focused on finding Kensi or at least any vehicle that left that area.
There were 60 vehicles seen on the camera that had shown the three second clip of Kensi. Six taxis, 16 vans and delivery trucks and 20 cars with fully tinted windows. He could eliminate all of the vehicles that only showed one person in the vehicle. So now he only needed to decipher any info off of the 42 vehicles. He didn't want to leave anything to chance. Unfortunately, he could only get a few license plates.
"Guys, I found 42 possible vehicles. Can you help me?"
Each of them concentrated on finding out as much info they could gather of each vehicle. They were going to try to contact all of them. They decided to start with the taxis.
It wasn't until Callen noticed that one of the taxis was from across town. It usually never came to this area.
"I'll make the phone call."
Please review.
