Monday came quick, seeing as Rose spent the weekend playing Sburb and writing. She practically did nothing else the whole time besides things that an almost normal human would do. Meaning she took care of her hygiene, ate, slept, and socialized with her family. On this Monday, she was kind of tired, seeing as she stayed up a little too late writing one of her fanfictions. But that was okay, she'd be woken up later by the class change bells.

"Oh, good, you're here Rose! I have a question for you!" Jade chimed as Rose walked up to her group of friends in the theater hallway. Now, Kanaya, Karkat, and Terezi had joined the group. Terezi was Karkats girlfriend who was legally blind. They all had to resort to going into the auditorium now so they wouldn't block the entrance off, but they didn't mind, since it was actually cool in there.

Rose responded to Jade, saying "Alright, what is it?" Jade was always full of questions, so it didn't surprise her. Rose also looked at the others and said good morning to all of them, getting a polite good morning back from Kanaya, while she got a grunt from Karkat and a hello from Terezi followed by a cackle.

"Are you planning on going to the Halloween dance in a few weeks? Dave asked me to go, so I figured that you and John could go too and we could all hang out there!" Jade grinned as she spoke. Rose knew that she wasn't romantically attracted to Dave and that she was just doing it for Dave's sake. If she didn't, he'd mope for weeks about it. "Karkat and Terezi aren't going, but I think Kanaya said she was too!" In the background, Rose could hear John mumbling. He HATED dances.

"Yes, I do plan on going. It sounds very interesting, since you get to dress in costumes for it." Kanaya remarked, stepping into the conversation.

"Well, I suppose I wouldn't mind going. It seems like a nice little group to go with. Hopefully they actually play Halloween-type music this year, though," Rose complained. She had actually planned on going this year, anyway, probably asking John to go with her at that.

"Great! So I guess we'll just all meet each other there?" Jade asked. "I mean, it's not like we can all fit in one car."

"No, we probably could fit in mine. It's big enough, it's just that three of you will have to sit in the back." Rose said, glancing between the four others. "In which the best conversations will come out if you, Dave, and John sit in the back. Kanaya can sit in the front." she continued with a chuckle.

The bell to go to class rang right when John started to complain about the dance in general. Rose sighed in relief at that, seeing as John and Jade started to walk off. "Saved by the bell," she laughed as she looked at Kanaya. Kanaya laughed as well. "So what are you going to dress as for the dance?" Rose asked.

"Probably a vampire," the brunette responded. "I'm a... sucker for vampires." she giggled. Karkat and Terezi had apparently heard her pun and started laughing. Rose chuckled a little bit as well.

"Very punny, Kanaya," Rose said with a smile. "We should probably be getting to class now. Lets not be late again like we were last week." Kanaya nodded in agreement. She said goodbye to Terezi, as did Karkat, who gave her a small kiss on the cheek. Then, he tagged along behind Kanaya and Rose, complaining about how class was going to be a bore again today.

"So are you actually going to the dance with that major doucheface as your date?" Karkat asked Rose.

"I don't see it as a date, since we're going in a group. Friends go together to dances all the time." She responded. "Not really an issue." Karkat sighed a bit, saying "Alright, whatever."

The three walked into their classroom and sat down about a minute before the bell rang. Rose hoped that nobody started any rumors that she had a crush on John, because she sure didn't. As far as she knew, she didn't have a crush on anybody at the moment. She would be completely and totally confused if somebody asked her if she liked John. Hell, Rose wasn't even attracted to guys. She knew this since middle school.

The day went by like a bore. For once in the two months they had already been at school, Rose had fallen asleep in at least one class. But now it was lunchtime, so she hoped that eating something would wake her up for the rest of the day. Hopefully. Since the school food was so shitty, she doubted it.

"Hey, Rose!" A girl said as she walked up to Rose, sitting down next to her. She grinned as she asked "How has your day been?"

"Quite dull, if I do say so myself. I've fallen asleep for the first time this year. How has yours been, Nepeta?" Rose said to the girl.

"It's been okay, I guess. Kind of boring, too!" Nepeta said with a giggle. "So, I heard that you got asked to the Halloween dance?"

Rose paused. "...You know about the Halloween dance?" she asked.

"Oh, pawsitively! I've been shipping people left and right. I heard John Egbert asked you and you said yes, is it true?" the cat-themed girl asked with a gleam in her eyes.

The Lalonde sighed. "No, actually. My friend Jade Harley asked me to go in a group with her, Dave Strider, and John. Kanaya is going with us, too."

"Ah, I see. Well darn! Sorry for the mix up, there." Nepeta sighed. She was obviously frustrated by the false rumors.

"It's alright. So, are you going too?" Rose asked. Nepeta shook her head.

"Naah.. I would have asked Karkat to go, but he started dating Terezi again... I mean, I love Terezi, she's one of my best friends and all.. But she knows I like him, so it makes me kind of mad, y'know?" She complained. Rose nodded her head and patted Nepetas back apologetically. Nepeta sighed, but then smiled a bit. "It doesn't stop me from shipping them, though!" she said with a giggle. Rose smiled a bit at how the girl could stay so positive like that.

The girls got onto a conversation about fictional characters that they shipped together, and they discovered that they actually had a lot of similar pairings for popular book series. They were kind of disappointed to head back to class, but Rose knew they'd start up the conversation the next day. Nepeta was all about shipping, and that was obvious.

The rest of the day went by quickly. Rose managed to stay awake for her next class, and definitely for Theater. How could she fall asleep in Theater? It was the only class she took that was fun. Sure, others were interesting, but this class was almost as fun as a video game, or even reading. She was excited for the Halloween play, too. She got to play a ringleader ghost in a haunted house. Rose already had the majority of her lines memorized.

The play week was going to be the best week this year so far. She got to stay after school for two days straight and act as a character totally different from herself in the play. Hopefully she could have her friends stay after with her. Ms. Paint would let anybody into the plays for free if they just helped clean up the auditorium after school. But that fact stayed hidden from the whole school, and it was only shared with drama club members.

Not only that, the day after the productions closing night was Saturday, and that Saturday was the Halloween dance. Rose didn't know what she planned on dressing as for the dance, but she knew it'd be fun either way. Well, as long as the group stayed together. She already knew that John wasn't going to stay for long, but she was unsure about Jade, Dave, and Kanaya. She just hoped that somebody would ask her to dance, whether it be a friend or a stranger.
