Juvia faced the enemy with courage. She blinked her eyes to get out the dirt that was clinging on her eyelashes, and thought of something more on how to defeat this skeleton like mage in front of her. Someone called her name, it was a man's voice, and she turned. Everything around her swirled and the moment she opened her eyes she was surprised to see her surroundings in all black.
It was void and she felt her own shoulders shudder at the cold air around her. She squinted her dark blue eyes, hoping to see something but unfortunately there's none.
She courageously opened her eyes fully and exhaled. She needs to concentrate, maybe it's one of her enemy's tactic to lure her.
"You,"
Her head perked up and searched for the voice. It was familiar. Too familiar and too haunted. She blinked and turned around only to be brought into another place. Her eyes widened as she spotted Gray kneeling a few meters away from her.
"Gray-sama…" she weakly murmured. She automatically reached her small hand out to him and walked to his direction.
"Juvia," she heard him call her and she jolted on her spot. Her Gray-sama's voice… It's different.
"You killed my father. How dare you?" Gray said in low voice, his palms now planted on the ground, blood was dripping out of his forehead. "Why Juvia?"
She gasped and covered her mouth. With an unknown force, her memories collided right in front of her eyes.
"Juvia did?" she asked herself and she saw a blurred scene in front of her.
"Sorry Gray-sama." She heard the person in the blurred scene spoke. It was definitely her. She stepped forward and reached her hands for the said person and-
"Hey Juvia wake up."
She was nudged by the shoulder and she felt her body becoming sore. She slowly opened her eyes and blinked. "Gray-sama?"
"Yes? Im sorry if I woke you up." He apologetically looked at her. "I thought that you're having a bad dream."
"A bad dream?" she asked to herself. "Oh…" she remembered what transpired on her dreams. It was like she was brought out of poisoned water and she needed to breathe.
She exhaled and she felt Gray beside her stood up, she heard him told her to wait and in just a few seconds he returned with a glass of water. "Drink up."
She smiled up at him before gulping her element. She thanked him and stared down on her now empty glass of water. She finally recognized where she is and sighed.
The guild was on its usual merry atmosphere and she can hear Gajeel's unique voice gracing the speakers.
"You fell asleep while waiting for the Gajeel's performance. Did you not get a proper sleep last night?"
She sighed again and looked at Gray. "Um, Juvia thinks so."
Gray only smirked and thought that she might be a little exhausted. "You can rest your head here," he pointed on his shoulder, his face red.
Juvia stared at him for a moment before giggling and did what he offered to her. "I mean, at least you can enjoy your best friend's crappy singing while you have me."
'Such sweet words'. Juvia smiled up at him and didn't know that Gray would be this kind of concern to her. "You're silly Gray-sama."
He smirked down on her and his eyes landed on her clasped hands on her lap. He doesn't even want to pay attention to Gajeel's crappy song so he wants to be busy with something else.
His eyes traveled from left to right, scanning the whole room if anyone's looking at them and thankfully no one is. They were all busy laughing there asses out and arguing with Gajeel to stop his stupidness already.
He bit his bottom lip and saw her hands unclasped. He took the opportunity to snake his arms around her back and grab her free hand. She looked up at him confusedly but he quickly turned his eyes away and pretended not to notice her.
Juvia blushed at his bold actions.
He released a sigh when Juvia let it slip away but he didn't notice the flying cat above them. "Sneaky Gray is sneaky."
They both looked up and saw Happy flying in circles around them, Gray was about to shoot ice lances on him when a barrel hit him instead. They both laugh and Juvia scooted closer to him.
"Gray-sama's very sneaky." She whispered, closing her eyes while smiling. But the moment she closed her eyes a scene flashed on her mind.
It was her crying in the middle of the battlefield while a middle-aged man was comforting her. He was garbed in a silver armor his hand patting her head.
She opened her eyes quickly and straightened her body.
"Juvia, are you alright?" Gray asked. She send him a smile before leaning her head back once again on his shoulder.
"I-It's nothing." She mumbled while her eyes were lowered into the ground.
"What do you think about the party?" Mirajane asked as she combed Juvia's hair. The girls decided to celebrate more after the others and Juvia's recovery. They were having a sleep over at Lucy's.
The white-haired mage offered to comb Juvia's hair and the girl felt touched. "It was fantastic." She smiled, hugging her Gray-sama doll.
"I knew you would like it." Mira replied.
"Of course Juvia did. Everything's back into normal and the guil'ds lively once again."
"And finally Gray realized his feelings for you." Mira added smirking, Cana joined their conversation while the others are still in the bath.
"You must be happy more than anyone else. That's a great improvement for the both of you." Cana smiled.
"Oh yes," the water mage giggled. "Juvia never knew that Gray-sama like surprise kisses. It was a dream come true."
"Yeah," Cana agreed. "I didn't even know that Gray's into that. But I think he likes that your love story will be private." Juvia laughed and sighed
"So… have you remembered anything now?" Cana changed the subject and Juvia's eyes closed.
"Juvia can see some. But it's all blurry. She can't point out anything." She sighed again.
"B-but," she interjected, eyes suddenly wide when Cana was about to reply. "I can see people in my dreams. There's a skeleton guy and a middle-aged man." She recalled quietly, unsure if she really describe them well.
"Oh," Mira said glaring at Cana telling her in the eyes: 'You shouldn't open that topic!'
Cana became alert and tried to change the subject again. But Juvia was already stucked on the thought and decided to ask questions.
"What really happened?" she asked them.
The two became quiet and Juvia became aware that they must know something. She was about to push her questions on them when the other girls joined them. Their topic varied and Juvia no longer want to defend her questions. She smiled and carried a long with their chatting, not wanting to ruin the happy atmosphere.
That night Juvia saw it all on her dreams. It was raining really hard outside when she woke up and saw the other girls sleeping soundly on their own. She stood up, tears in her eyes as she grabbed her things, careful not to wake anyone. She walked out of Lucy's apartment, crying on her way and didn't bother to bring her Gray-sama doll with her.
