"Alright the Team Austin meeting can begin." Ally said, pounding the gavel down on the counter. "I love gaveling."
"Ally, you do realize that Austin is not here right?" Trish said.
"I know and I don't care right now. I want both you and Dez to keep him away from Sonic Boom for the rest of the day." Ally said.
"Why?" Dez asked.
"Because I am seriously mad at him. So Dez, you tell him that I am so mad at him that he shouldn't come in here and that at closing I will talk to him about an ultimatum."
Dez nodded his head and then left. Trish talked to Ally. "Why are you doing this?"
"Ok, Trish this may come as a shock to you, but I like Austin."
"When are you going to tell me the shocking thing?"
"Wait you knew."
"Yeah, Dez actually noticed it first and pointed me to the truth and I figured it out too. I am glad that you finally are admitting it."
"Well what about Austin?"
"He likes you too, but he is an idiot. He doesn't know it yet."
"Should I tell him?"
"Yes, but wait until closing because Dez and I are going to try and get him to notice his feelings for you."
"OK. Thanks, Trish."
"No problem, Ally. See you later."
Ally worked the rest of the day until closing. At around 7:50, the store was deserted so Ally went upstairs for a bit to practice her lines for the Shakespeare play that she is trying out for next week.
"Oh Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"
"That was very good, Ally."
I turn around and see Dez standing in the doorway wearing a shirt that says "Team Ally".
"You scared me, Dez. What's with the shirt?"
"Oh, this. I made it when I realized that you and Austin liked each other like four months ago. Since I was Austin's best friend I made mine say Team Ally because I wanted you to be his girlfriend. When Trish figured it out about a week later, I gave her one that says Team Austin."
"Four months ago? I didn't start liking Austin until nearly a month ago."
"That's when you noticed, not when you actually started liking him. It actually started the day after you got back at him for reading your book."
"What?"
"Yeah, I know we have been so blind to the truth, but today everyone will know."
Suddenly Trish came running into the practice room. "I lost Austin."
"What?!" Dez said. "Did you at least point out to him that he is in love with Ally?"
"No, I lost him somewhere. I don't remember where"
"Wait," Dez said, "I did see him talking to some girl. She was pretty cute. No offense, Ally."
Suddenly all three of them realized what had happened to Austin. Before Dez or Trish could do anything, Ally stormed out of the store. She barely got out the front door when she saw what she feared. Austin was kissing some girl.
"AUSTIN MONICA MOON, I DO NOT AND WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU! I WANT YOU OUT OF MY LIFE COMPLETELY. YOU ARE NEVER ALLOWED INTO SONIC BOOM EVER AGAIN AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WE ARE NO LONGER PARTNERS OR FRIENDS!"
She stormed back to Sonic Boom in tears. Dez was standing there waiting for her. Ally wrapped her arms around him. Dez saw that Austin had spotted him so he signaled him to call Trish. He lead Ally upstairs. Trish came back with ice cream for all of them. Dez told her that Austin might call her.
Sure enough, Austin called her. She let it ring three times before answering, "Hey, idiot."
"I deserve that."
"Of course you do. Now what's the problem?"
"Ally. I still don't know what she is getting so mad about."
"That's why you are an idiot."
"Wait you know."
"Of course I know. I'm her best friend."
"What is it?"
"Nope you need to figure it out on your own. You're the only one who hasn't figured it out yet."
"Wait Dez knows."
"Yeah, surprisingly he was the one who pointed it out to me."
"Then why can't you tell me? Dez told you."
"No he merely pointed me in the right direction and I figured it out on my own afterwards."
"Just tell me Trish."
"Have you tried writing everything down?"
"Yeah I have."
"Well, do it again and think about it."
"Ok but don't hang up."
"Why?"
"I thought about killing myself."
"Seriously?!"
"Yeah."
"OK I won't."
While Austin was busy writing everything down, Trish told Dez about what Austin had said. Both of them decided not to tell Ally because she was heartbroken enough as it was. Suddenly Austin's voice came back on the phone, "Is it because I didn't help the man who jumps off the bridge?"
"No you idiot, but next time save the guy and fix that guys tire."
"Then what is it?"
"It's obvious. You like Ally."
Dez smacked her in the arm. "Don't worry, doofus. I think his phone died before he heard me say Ally. Plus if he starts the day over again, I wouldn't have told him. He would have figured it out on his own."
Dez thought about this for a second before agreeing with her.
The three ate ice cream and tried to make Ally feel better. But nothing could heal this broken heart. If only this day could start over again. They knew that it was pointless to even wish for that.
Some where a clock struck twelve. The three friends laid down on the practice room floor and slept. Both Trish and Dez hoped that Austin would get it right next time.
The clock struck the twelfth time.
