Snow could be crunchy. Enakshmi Kapur was not sure whether or not she liked that. It was nice when it was soft, or when it melted as soon as it hit the ground. But crunchy?

"Woah, what's the matter with you?" Goku asked, bumping into her purposefully.

Ena looked up in surprise. "The matter with me? Uhm, there is no the matter with me?"

Goku laughed. "You're lookin' at the snow like it insulted you or something!"

"Not insulted," Ena muttered, shaking the snow off her boots. "Loud."

She pouted as he began to laugh again. Ena angrily stomped off through the clumps of snow in front of her. She kicked the now offending white stuff out of the way. Goku followed, still chuckling.

"You're gonna get lost," he told her in a sing-songy voice.

Ena was next to certain that Goku would stop following her if she ignored him. She'd fallen into the Sanzo party not so long ago but already she felt she knew them all fairly well. As well as one could with a language barrier, that is.

Balling up her hands in her too-long sleeves, Ena continued kicking the snow with a vengeance. At first, she'd loved the fluffy white stuff but now that it was everywhere, for several weeks in a row, it was getting on her nerves. In fact, she wondered if her toes would ever be completely warm again.

Something grabbed the back of her sweater and she screeched. She most likely would have fallen flat on her face if not for the fact that her assailant was obnoxiously strong. Now hovering a few inches from the ground, Ena twisted around angrily.

"Goku let go!" she ordered, flailing.

"Hey!" Goku held on now with two hands. "Yer gonna fall right into the snow!"

Ena flopped, puffing her cheeks out angrily. She was lifted higher from the ground until she was nearly at level with Goku's iridescent eyes.

"Are you actually angry? Or just pretend-angry?" he asked, peering at her. "Sometimes I can't tell."

"Actually angry!" Ena griped. "Scared me, dumb Goku."

Goku laughed, "Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. But you shouldn't just stomp off when it's gonna be a blizzard."

"Blizzard?" Ena queried as Goku set her down on her feet.

"Yeah. Big snow storm." Goku explained. He laughed again when Ena groaned. "Yup, we'll be snowed in for a little while but that's okay."

"Not okay," Ena replied. "Sanzo shoot all of us."

"I really hope not!" Goku feigned fear but quickly broke into a grin. "Naw, it'll be okay. Unless it gets too much colder than it is right now."

Ena looked Goku up and down. The silly monkey was wearing his usual outift- the sleeves rolled up and his pants torn up on the bottoms… only his boots seemed remotely appropriate to the weather.

"Goku is dumb." Ena said certainly, pulling a face.

He balked. "Aw, that's not nice. Who taught you that, huh? I bet it was Gojyo. That stupid kappa…"

"No," Ena pulled on his shirt sleeves, trying to pull them down. "Ena knows Goku is dumb because Goku is dumb. Goku is dumb because he walks in snow in dumb clothes."

Goku winced. "Could you stop saying 'dumb' over and over? I'll start to worry you really think that."

Laughing now, Ena buttoned the ends of his sleeves and pulled at some of the wrinkles. Probably the sleeves were permanently wrinkled due to them being rolled up 99.9% of the time.

"Goku needs a coat. Or sweater." Ena waved her own be-sweatered arms. "Like me."

"Naw, I don't need a coat or anything." Goku reached out and tugged on the hem of Ena's sweater. "Besides, you'll share, right?"

"Share." Ena repeated, looking confused.

Share what? Clothing? That was silly as she was nearly a foot shorter and rather twiggy. While she was busy deciding how to respond, Goku pulled off her scarf and wrapped it around his own neck.

"Hey! Not share, stealing!" Ena declared as she attempted to take her scarf back. "I buy with own money! Return scarf, Goku!"

"But I'm cooold," he whined, nuzzling his nose into the scarf. "You're so mean, Ena!"

"Listen, dumb Goku!" Ena pulled hard on Goku's arm. "I am not let you steal my things!"

Goku laughed and Ena smacked his arm. She was still working on her Chinese (as he very well knew) but it got much worse as she got more emotional. Honestly, Goku found it really endearing. Wrapping an arm around her, Goku drew Ena close. He pulled on the scarf and wrapped part of it around her.

Ena blushed heavily, their faces close together. His cheek bumped into hers and she thought for a moment that her heart might stop. She could feel him grin, his face warm against hers.

"Share," he explained, holding tightly to her. "See? We can share. As long as we stand still, anyway."

Mumbling incoherently, Ena's eyes darted everywhere except Goku's too-close face. She knew his golden eyes would be just as cheery as his face. Ena wondered if he even knew how fast her heart was beating, or if she secretly relished moments like these…

"Hm? What's wrong, Ena?"

"N-Nothing!" Ena shook her head, accidentally knocking foreheads with him. "Ow… Sorry…"

Goku was quiet for a moment and Ena was just about to turn and ask if something was the matter when she felt his lips press against her cold cheek. The snow fell around them, melting on Ena's now-blushing face.

Gathering up some courage, Ena turned and did the same to Goku, allowing her lips to linger on his pink cheeks. She felt his mouth widen into an embarrassed grin and found herself smiling as well.

"Sharing is okay," Ena leaned her head on his shoulder.

Goku's arm clasped her tighter and he nodded.

"Only if Goku stays close to Ena," she amended, gazing up at him with worshipful eyes. She truly did think the world of him.

"Of course!" Goku chirped, laughing a little. "Always."
