"Feferi, do you think their class is busy right now?" A muscular boy asked the girl that he was walking next too.
"Equius, it's art. Nepeta and Eridan are probably working on a project. We'll be fine!" The girl, whose name was Feferi, said. "Now, what did you have to give her, anyway?"
"Her colored pencils. How they got in my bag, I'll never know, but I definitely don't need them." Equius answered.
"No, you don't, but it looks like you could definitely use a towel right about now!"
"Oh, please, I just left gym class, of course I'm going to be sweaty. So what do you have to give to Eridan?"
"His inhaler. God forbid he left it at my house yesterday."
"Well that's... Smart."
"Yeah, I know, he's such a dweeb. Look, their classes door is open, we're fine!"
The two walked into the art building. Equius knocked on the classroom door, trying to knock quietly but he knocked louder than expected. The whole class looked up at the two. The teacher signaled them to come in. Equius closed the door behind him. "So sorry to intrude on your class, but we have some things for Nepeta and Eridan!" Feferi said. The teacher nodded. Feferi walked over to Eridan, while Equius walked over to Nepeta.
"Hi Equius!" Nepeta said with a big grin. "Whatcha got for me?"
"Your colored pencils. You left them in my bag yesterday." Equius said, handing her the colored pencils.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Wait, how did they get in your bag?" The small girl asked.
"I have no idea," Equius responded. "But I'd rather not find out." Nepeta giggled at him. She stood up and gave him a hug.
"How did you get out of class, Fef?" Eridan asked as he looked up at Feferi. She held up his inhaler, in which his face turned red. "Oh... I forgot it again. I'm sorry."
"Eridan, how many times do I have to tell you to remember your inhaler? You know how bad your asthma is!" Feferi exclaimed. A few other kids around Eridan snickered.
"Yeah, yeah whatever. I don't need you naggin' on me about it..." He mumbled.
"Be glad I even brought it to you," she replied. She handed him his inhaler and sighed. "I need to get back to class, so, I'll talk to you later–"
But she was cut off. A huge explosion on the other side of the room went off, taking a huge chunk out of the wall and starting a big fire. Half of the ceiling had collapsed, with debris falling on some of the students, but not to the extent of crushing them.
"W-what the hell just happened?" Eridan said, standing up. He started coughing from the dust and smoke in the air.
"Is everyone okay?!" Feferi shouted. Various kids said yes, most of them coughing from the dust.
"We have to get out of here before the fire gets any worse, it's already spreading quickly," Equius said as he grabbed Nepetas hand. He went to the door and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. "Quickly, Nepeta, help me open the door. Everybody, get ready to run out of here when we open the door!" He shouted. Nepeta nodded. Between the two of them, there was definitely enough strength to bust the door down, as opposed to open it.
"Okay, everybody, be careful!" Feferi shouted as she grabbed Eridan, who was coughing uncontrollably, and helped him outside. She heard sirens at the parking lot near the side of the school, and she knew he needed a respirator. She looked at the others who were outside. "Everyone, come with me to the ambulances over here! We'll be safe there!" She said as she helped Eridan to the paramedics.
"Equius, the other classroom! We've got to help them, too!" Nepeta said. "Look, they're trapped!"
Equius nodded. Simultaneously, the two of them knocked down the door. Smoke literally poured out of the room, and kids were able to breathe slightly again. "Nepeta, you tell these kids where to go. The paramedics are that way, I'll help any who are injured out," he said.
"Alright, just be careful, Equius!" Nepeta pleaded. Kids who were already coming out of the room looked at where to go. "The paramedics are down that way, they'll help you," she said as she pointed to the parking lot. "Do you need help?"
Equius rushed into the room, pushing debris out of the way to clear a path. Luckily, there weren't many people who were passed out. Almost everyone was out by now except for two people; The teacher and a student. They were passed out, so Equius picked the two up without even thinking. He rushed out of the room, flames singeing his skin on the way out. He looked at Nepeta, signaling for her to go with him to the paramedics now.
When the two got to the paramedics, they saw that Feferi was already helping the ones who were barely injured. The paramedics were taking care of the severely hurt ones. Eridan had an oxygen mask on and was sitting in on a bench. Equius took the teacher and the student to the paramedics, where they took the unconscious two. Equius sighed and looked at Nepeta. "Are you okay?" he asked. She nodded.
"I just hope all of our other friends are okay, too." She said, looking at the school. Roaring flames were all over the whole school now, not just the art building.
