It was the day after Mr. Makara had put Kanaya into the hospital. Rose decided that since the hospitals visiting hours were from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., she'd go to school to get the work she missed and then leave around 10:30. When she walked into the theater, she saw Karkat talking to Gamzee.

"Karbro, I'm really sorry about what went down last night. My dad's a motherfuckin' psycho." Gamzee said.

"Well that's kind of obvious. Gamzee, why are YOU sorry? It wasn't your fault. You're not your dad. He's a fucking lunatic, and you're not."

"Still, bro. He's my dad. I feel so fuckin bad about this shit, man."

"I said it's okay, dipshit. You didn't do anything. Don't make me have to slap some fucking sense into you!"

"Okay, okay, but if there's anything I can do, man, just let me know."

"Will do."

Rose sighed and walked up to Karkat. Gamzee looked at Rose with a troubled look, not really knowing what to say. Rose just nodded at him and cracked a smile, to which Gamzee sighed. He waved to Karkat, then to Rose, and then left.

"I feel kind of bad for Gamzee. He's putting all of the blame on himself." Rose said, watching as he walked away.

"Yeah, he always does that. It gets pretty damn annoying after a while." Karkat sighed. "So, whats your plan for today?"

"I'm getting the work I missed and leaving at 10:30 to head to the hospital to see her. Do you want to come with me?"

"I'd love too. But I can't because I've missed too many days. If I miss anymore, the stupid ass school system will fucking fail me. But hey, you can give this letter to Kanaya for me." Karkat handed the letter to Rose. Rose looked at it and raised an eyebrow. "We went back to Kans house last night to get some clothes and stuff for her, and this was under a book on the kitchen table. I have no idea what the actual fuck it is." he continued.

"Well, I'm sure she'd love to see it." Rose smiled.

The two conversed for a little bit until the bell to go to class rang. Jade, Dave, and John walked out of the theater. Jade immediately hugged Rose and Karkat, saying she was sorry for what happened. John tried to tell a corny joke to lighten the mood, which actually made Karkat laugh. But then, Karkat punched Johns shoulder. Dave laughed at that, until Karkat punched him too. Rose sighed and suggested they should all go to class before they were late.

Now, Rose wasn't one for cheesy gifts, but she figured she'd at least get something for Kanaya. And she decided to take a humorous route, at that. She bought her a flower... That happened to be a rose. Oh, how funny she was. Kanaya would get a kick out of that. At least Rose hoped so. It was either that, or she'd laugh and call her a nerd. Either way, it wasn't a bad reaction.

Rose knocked on the door to Kanaya's room and poked her head in. "Hey." she said. Kanaya looked at her and smiled, waving at her to come in as she sat up. "How are you feeling?" Rose asked. She hid the rose behind her back.

"Well, everything hurts besides my ego, but I'm holding up." Kanaya giggled. "Okay, spill it. What are you hiding behind your back?"

"Well you see... I got you something." Rose paused. "And that something happens to be..." She whipped the Rose out from behind her back. "A rose!" Kanaya stared at her. After an awkward silence, she busted out laughing.

"Oh my god, you're so lame!" She said, taking the rose from Rose. "That's so corny that it's great." she smiled.

"I'm well aware. That's why I did it," Rose laughed. "But I feel like I'm forgetting something... Oh, shit, hold on I left it in my car!" She said as she made her way out of the room. But then, she came back into the room. "...Nevermind. It was in my back pocket."

"Oh, who's the dork now, Miss Lalonde?" Kanaya giggled.

"Hush, you! Anyway, this is a letter that Karkat wanted me to give you. He and Porrim found it under a book on the kitchen counter at your house." Rose said, handing Kanaya the letter. "He had no idea what it was, but.. I think I may have an idea."

Kanaya looked at the letter, then to Rose, then back at the letter. She opened up the envelope. Kanaya perked up when she saw the college name on the slip of paper. She opened the folded piece of paper. There was a pause as she started reading. Then, to Rose's surprise, Kanaya whispered "Oh my god," and her eyes watered up.

"What is it, Kan? Is it bad news or good news?" Rose asked, trying to peek at the letter.

"Good news, very good news. I got accepted into the fashion design school I've wanted to go to!" Kanaya nearly shouted, getting over excited. It was the first time Rose had ever seen her this excited, which caused her to blush from how cute she looked.

"Oh my god, Kan! That's so great!" Rose said, leaning in to kiss her quickly. Kanaya pulled her into a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you," she whispered as she hugged her back.

"I'm almost as happy as I was when we danced at that Halloween dance!" she pulled away and wiped her eyes. "I just didn't get as excited as this because I thought that you'd think I was weird."

"Well, as you can tell, I don't think you're weird. Actually, you're hella cute right now and I just want to kiss your face." Rose laughed. She kissed Kanaya again. And again. And again. But, Kanaya kind of got a little quiet, as if she had realized something bad. Rose raised an eyebrow. The only thing that Kanaya did was point to where the college was on the slip of paper. It was halfway across the United States. Which meant that Kanaya would have to go live over there. And Rose's college was in the state they were in.

"...Well, shit."
