A/N: Prepare yoselves, last chapter is coming tomorrow (as I am currently still writing it) :3 I was gonna wait to post this one too, but I feel like I've left you guys hanging way too long.
Roxy had just gotten home from work. She worked at a book store in the music department along with Dave. It had been a long day; Some kids had come into the section and tried to steal a few CDs, a movie, and a box set of a TV series. Dave had chased them out of the store and retrieved the stolen items. Most people try to steal from the music department, so it wasn't a big surprise to her. She would have been more surprised if they had tried to steal books.
She went to the kitchen in her apartment. Opening the fridge, she grabbed a canned soda and some leftover Chinese takeout from the night before. After heating up the takeout, she went to her bedroom and turned on the TV. Before she ate the food, she grabbed her phone and looked to see if she had missed any calls.
And she had. She missed a call from Rose. Without even bothering to listen to the message, she called Rose back.
"Hello?" Rose answered through the phone.
"Hey Rosie. You wanted me to call ya?" Rose replied. She tried to take a bite of some of the chicken on her plate, but she spat it back out after determining that it was too hot. She took a sip of her soda as Rose started to speak.
"Oh, hey Roxy. Yeah, I did. Guess what happened today!" Rose said. Roxy could feel her smiling through the phone. Roxy made a noise that sounded like "I dunno" through the phone. Rose sighed, then said "Well, surprise to you; My book was published! It's gonna be in stores this month!"
Roxy spat out her drink all over her bed. "Holy shit, Rose, that's amazing! Why didn't you tell me when it was gonna be published?!" She said as she wiped the soda off of her face.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." Rose laughed.
"You suck! But anyway, congrats, Rosie!"
"Ha, thanks, Rox. I kinda hope that Kanaya finds it and gives it a read."
"Aw, Rosie... That was years ago. 8, to be exact. Come on, now... You guys lost contact so long ago."
"I know, but... I still have hope. You know she's a fashion designer now, right?"
"...I see. Alright. Just don't get your hope too high, Rosie, kay?"
"Okay, I won't, Rox. Anyway, I'll let you go so you can eat your Chinese food."
"Talk to you later, Ro- Wait. How did you know I had Chinese food?"
"You always try to eat it before it cools off, dummy." Rose said as she hung up. Roxy laughed and put her phone down, rolling her eyes.
Roxy worried about Rose a lot. But, she was her sister, and she loved her. As long as she could cheer her up, she didn't care what Rose did. As long as it wasn't illegal. Then, Rose would be in for a huge kick in the rump.
