3rd Person POV
. . . . .
"Ben?"
A bunch of cardboard boxes seemed to have appeared overnight in front of the doors to everyone's dressing rooms.
Incidentally, this was after the show's finale, when everyone was packing up their memories from the last couple of years.
No one was looking forward to saying goodbye to the better part of a decade's worth of memories.
Even though the names on the doors had already been removed, it was ridiculously easy to find the dressing room of the anti-OCD Ben based on the lazily-organized boxes outside of it.
Kai had to move around the boxes on tiptoes to get to the door, like they were booby traps.
"Earth to Ben? Any intelligent life in there?"
"Come in."
His voice seemed noticeably (and unusually) quiet and restrained.
Modestly, Kai opened the door and leaned against the frame.
Ben was sitting on a chair in the middle of an otherwise empty room; he had in his hands the original Omnitrix, which he examined fondly.
"Are you OK?" she asked.
He didn't answer immediately, but instead kept looking at the Omnitrix.
"You know, it's kind of incredible how this all started with me and this thing right here."
The show's ending was understandably bittersweet for Ben, considering that this show had taken up so much of his life (which was aptly demonstrated by Kevin and Gwen's then-recent engagement).
"That's time for you," Kai admitted. "So how are you gonna spend your time now?"
Ben looked up at her.
"I don't know," he shrugged. "Maybe look back on my life so far, contemplate what I might need to change in the future, stuff like that."
Just then, Rook appeared behind Kai.
"Excuse me," he said. "I hate to interrupt, Ms. Green, but could you please help me put away some of my weapons?"
Kai told him he would, but Ben had stood up and caught up to her before she could leave just yet.
"Wait," Ben interjected, "I didn't get to ask you: how are you gonna spend your time now?"
She winked at him and replied, "I'll tell you at 8."
Date night.
Of course.
"I'm already looking forward to it."
