Okay, update time again. I'm really, really, really sorry for not updating sooner, but my friend (dragonrider848 if you're wondering) stole my notebook with all of my writing in it, so blame it on her. Anyways, enjoy the fanfic!

Chapter Twelve
Misaki's POV
My eyes widened at his words and I shoved at his chest, sending him stumbling backwards. "Don't give me that shit!" I yelled, my anger boiling over. Without answering Akihiko's confused and hurt gaze, I ran down the alley, going at full speed.
He called after me, but I ignored it and kept running, running without destination until I was sure I'd lost him. Akihiko's calls had faded, and now all I could hear was the sound of my own rapid heartbeats pounding in my ears. For the first time I stopped and looked around at my surroundings. I recognized where I was, nears Takahiro's old apartment complex, so I began walking slow my racing heart.
I soon found myself at the old park Takahiro used to take me to when I was a kid, and I found a bench and sat down tiredly. 'I can't believe I just ran like that. Why do I have to be such a damn coward?!" I thought miserably, my mind wandering. After what I guessed had been about two hours, I heard yelling my name from a distance away.
After another five minutes Akihiko dashed, breathless, into the park. He spotted me and walked over, glaring the whole time. "Why'd you run away?" he asked exasperatedly once he caught his breath. I didn't answer, instead choosing to look up at the sky, with its rumbling clouds, ready to begin its downpour. It was only then that I noticed it was so stormy outside, that the wind was constantly whipping me.
"Why did you run away?" he asked again, irritation clear in his voice.
I sighed in slight annoyance at his persistence and said, "I don't know." I finally looked Akihiko in the eyes and saw life in them.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Before I could answer, I saw people running into the park from the direction Akihiko had. My anger started to surface again when I saw Rae running towards me behind my brother.
"I mean I don't know," I said quickly, "and I'm about to run again!"
"Oh no you're not!" Akihiko exclaimed. But he was too late, because I'd already vaulted over the back of the park bench and started running again.
"Stop running damnit!" I heard Akihiko yell behind me, and I smirked, feeling a sense of triumph as I could sense him having trouble keeping up with me. I wasn't sure how long I ran, but before long the voices behind me faded away and it began raining. Even so, I didn't stop running, reveling in the feeling of freedom I had.
It wasn't until I looked around me and saw where I was when I stopped. I was at the alley near Akihiko's apartment where those muggers attacked me. It seemed it wasn't only me who had gotten the idea, because Haitani and a couple of his lackeys in the alley, seemingly waiting for me.
Haitani smirked at me and nodded over my shoulder. Before I realized what was going on, a rag was placed over my mouth and nose, and my vision started going dark. I slammed my elbow back, getting grim satisfaction from an agony filled 'oof!' before everything went dark.
Akihiko's POV
Even after Misaki disappeared from my field of vision, I kept looking for him. Somehow I found myself searching around my apartment building, along the route Misaki used to use to go to school (don't ask how I know that). I finally spotted him in an alley nearby. I noticed a man walk up behind him and cover his mouth with a cloth. Misaki delivered a strong elbow to the guy's stomach before he passed out.
I ran towards the alley as the guy picked Misaki up and carried him further into the alley. I rushed into it and slammed my fist into the back of the man's head, knocking him out. Before he could fall on Misaki, I pulled him back, grabbing Misaki out of his arms at the same time.
As I was about to step out of the dark alley, a voice behind me said, "Where do you think you're taking my little kitten?"
I froze in place, the words taking a while to process I my mind. 'Little kitten? Who the hell does this guy think he is?!' I thought angrily, and turned around, only to be hit in the head with a lead pipe, making me lose consciousness. I was completely submerged in darkness, though I heard a cruel cold laugh, a laugh full of victory.
Misaki's POV
I woke up with a killer migraine. I opened my eyes, but it didn't make a difference from when my eyes were closed, so I closed them again, releasing an annoyed sigh. "Are you awake, kitten?" I froze, Haitani's voice cutting through me like a knife, but I soon became numb.
I tried to move, but found my hands tied to something beneath me and a blindfold on my eyes. An involuntary groan made its way out of me as a particularly painful stab of pain flashed through my head.
Haitani started speaking, "It seems your beloved Akihiko cares about you a lot. He's been very amusing while you've been asleep." I ground my teeth, anger taking the numbness' place.
"Don't you dare touch Akihiko," I growled at Haitani, who only chuckled darkly.
Suddenly he was next to me, saying, "Oh, it's a bit late for that. He just can't seem to calm down, keeps trying to fight back." Another chuckle was heard. "It was quite . . . amusing," he said. Sensing Haitani right above me, caressing my face, I brought my head up hard, head-butting him.
He grunted in surprise and pulled away from me. I smiled ruefully, knowing the punishment that came with defying Haitani. "I won't let you get away from this unharmed," I heard him say teasingly, but I sensed the rage underneath it.
Haitani grabbed my right arm roughly and all of a sudden there was pain ripping through it from my wrist to the crook of my elbow. I cried out, the unexpected pain taking me by surprise. I bit my lip, effectively cutting off the scream.
Haitani kept cutting into my arm, whether it was words or random lines I couldn't tell. I managed to keep quiet through the rest of it, biting into my lip hard enough to draw blood. After an unknown amount of time, Haitani started cutting into my other arm, staring with a long cut from my wrist to the crook of my elbow again.
"All done. I suppose you deserve a reward for your endurance." His voice was mocking and full of dark amusement. After a couple of seconds, I felt the blindfold being untied. Once it was off, I saw Haitani's face, an amused smirk in place. Even seeing that all too familiar face right I front of me, the fear that usually accompanied it was nowhere to be seen.
All I felt was an almost consuming anger. Haitani, in seeing this, was taken aback, not expecting that emotion from me. "Where the hell is Akihiko?!" I asked forcefully, almost demandingly, but I knew better than that.
"Oh~, so you care about him, do you? How unexpected. I thought you were completely frozen over too." His teasing mocking tone was, irritatingly, back.
"Where is he?" I almost-demanded again.
"He's not here. I left him unconscious in the alley I found you in." He sounded less amused now, but amused all the same.
"So you lied to me," I said quietly, my anger draining away back to numbness.
"Yes, I did. It was fun seeing your reaction," Haitani said, drawing a line down my face with the back of his hand.
All of a sudden he was straddling me, saying, "Now it's time to have some fun. I can't wait to play with you again." He stared leaning down, and as his lips were about to touch my unwilling ones, car wheels screeching in the distance. Taking into account Haitani's expression, it was much to close for comfort to him.
"Shit," he cursed under his breath and got off of me and untied me. He walked towards the exit, and his parting words before the darkness consumed me were, "I guess it'll have to wait until next time."
Okay, end of chapter. So how was it? Good, horrible, scarily bad? Again I apologize for not updating sooner due to my friend dragonrider848.
