Chapter Five: The Dread of Stereotyping

I don't know OHSHC. I only own Akari

A week has passed and Akari could finally be able to hang out with the Ouran Host Club again. She was thankful to be around Mori and Hunny. All the guys were wearing kimonos and just drinking tea with the girls that they were hosting with for that day. Akari was currently sitting in the third music room drinking tea and chatting with Mori and Hunny. She truly did miss her family and was great to be around them again. Akari went to go and talk to Haruhi who was complaining about all the hosts having teary eyes today.

"Yanno Haruhi," Akari spoke, "lots of girls like men who are very sentimental."

"But they're probably faking it," Haruhi said, "no one can cry that easily."

"You may be right."

Haruhi looked over to the main door to see someone standing there. The twins went to the girl at the door.

"Come on in, what are you waiting for?" Kaoru spoke softly as he held out his hand with rose with Hikaru right behind him. Tamaki rushed over.

"DON"T BE RUDE!" Tamaki shouted at the twins. Tamaki turned to the girl at the door, "Please, you don't have to be afraid, my princess. I welcome you to the Ouran host club." Tamaki held his hand out for her to take.

"NO!" the girl shouted at Tamaki, which made his ego drop. "Don't touch me, you phony!"

"Phony?! What do you mean I'm phony?" Tamaki asked out of shock.

"Just what I said. You're phony. I find it hard to believe that someone like you is the prince character of this host club! You shouldn't go spreading your love around so easily like that, you stupid! You must be a dim-witted narcissist! You're incompetent! You're a commoner. You're disgusting," the girl yelled at Tamaki, which actually angered Akari just a bit, since everyone was listening to this conversation. Tamaki on the other hand felt ashamed and ended up in the corner sulking like he usually does.

"I don't suppose you are..." Kyoya spoke which got the girl's attention.

"It's you, Kyoya. Oh, how I longed to meet you. My one and only prince charming," the girl squealed. She turned to everyone else, "He's my fiancee."

"Hold up, I got to sit down," Akari said and went to sit on the couch. The rest followed except for Tamaki who was sitting on the window ledge dramatically looking out the window in a dreary mood.

"Your fiancee?" Hikaru asked.

"Kyoya senpai?" Kaoru asked for reassurement.

"Of course. My name is Renge Hoshakuji, and I'm transferring into Ouran academy's 1st-year class A tomorrow," Renge explained.

"Oh great," Akari sighed.

Hikaru who was sitting next to her asked, "Why is he sulking?" They all turned to Tamaki.

"Because Mommy was keeping a secret from Daddy," Kaoru explained.

"Whatever. Why does everyone insist on referring to us like we're husband and wife?" Kyoya asked.

"Oh this is a story of love at first sight. I couldn't resist the way you were adoring those flowers in the backyard when you thought no one else was looking, and how sweet it was when you reached out to that poor little injured kitten," Renge fantasied.

"She serious?" Hikaru and Kaoru spoke together.

"Could you have the wrong person?" Haruhi asked.

"No way! I could recognize my love anywhere. He's a gentleman who's kind to everyone and doesn't ask for anything in return. He likes solitude, but in fact sometimes he gets lonely. He looks like the star of the popular dating sim, Uki-doki 're my real-life Ichijo Miyabi!" Renge exclaimed out of her "love".

"Uki-" Haruhi said confused.

"doki-" Hunny-senpai finished for Haruhi.

"Otaku!" Tamaki screamed out.

"Otaku?" Hikaru questioned.

"I've never seen one!" Kaoru exclaimed. Then the three of them started running around the club room like maniacs.

"I get it now. You're in love with that character. You're projecting the love onto me, and you somehow deluded yourself into thinking that we're engaged. I assume this Miyabi character probably wears glasses as well," Kyouya basicall explained out loud.

"Basically, he's not engaged, and Renge here is an overly obsessed fangirl," Akari explained.

"How rude," Renge spoke to Akari. "You don't understand my love for him!"

"Actually, I'm pretty sure Akari does understand, but in a different way," Haruhi explained.

"Yeah! Akari is pretty famous," Hunny-senpai told her. "I bet she had tons of boys swooning over her while she was in the United States."

Renge took a good look at Akari for a good minute, and then something sparked in her brain, "OH MY GOODNESS! You're THE Akari!"

"Finally," Akari sighed.

"Can I have your autograph?" Renge asked.

"Yeah sure," Akari said and opened her bag and grabbed a sign paper with her autograph on there. "I always keep extras."

"Thank you so much!" Renge exclaimed. "I'm gonna manage this club starting today!"

"WHA?" everyone cried.

Tamaki looked over to Kyoya, "Uh, Kyoya."

"Miss Hoshokuji is the only daughter of a very important Otori family client. So, please be polite and try not to offend her, all right?" Kyoya reasoned.

"Don't expect that from me," Akari said.

Renge looked over to Akari, "You're not even apart of the host club!"

"Yeah, but my brother and cousin are, so I hang out here a lot," Akari explained.

"Well, I can't wait to work with you!" Renge cheered.

The next day, everyone was gathered in the Host Club room except Renge and Akari.

"Where's Akari?" Haruhi asked.

"She's at an important meeting for her video club that she recently joined," Hunny-senpai said. "She was really excited about it!"

"She'll be back later," Mori spoke.

Haruhi nodded and then turned to Tamaki.

"I thought about it a lot last night, and maybe having a lady manager isn't such a bad idea," Tamaki explained.

"Why do you say that?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked.

"Well, it's fairly obvious, isn't it? Renge just transferred into the same class as Haruhi. So if Haruhi has a girlfriend around, it could bring out the female within her. Renge's girlish air of tenderness might be able to stimulate Haruhi's own sense of femininity," Tamaki explained.

"But Akari has a sense of femininity about her too!" Haruhi yelled.

"BUT ITS NOT ENOUGH!" Tamaki yelled back.

"That's nice to know about me," Akari said as she entered the room. She was carrying a bag of video equipment.

"Daddy's sorry!" Tamaki ran over and hugged Akari's leg.

"It's fine, I wasn't offended," Akari said and then Tamaki went back to his own self-righteous mood again. Renge walks in with a plate of cookies.

"Hey, everyone. You'd be happy to know that your new manager, Renge has baked all of you some cookies," Renge told them.

"Why did you have to talk in third person?" Akari asked.

"Oh, isn't she lady-like? I'm so moved by your generosity," Tamaki thanked her.

"I didn't bake these cookies for you, you phony prince. I'm sorry, I burnt them a little bit. I did the best I could, and I already know what you're going to say," Renge said.

"Hmph, not true to your word? I'm pretty sure I heard you say "All" of us, which includes Tamaki-senpai," Akari defended.

Renge totally ignored Akari.

"Fine, be that way," Akari huffed. Akari watched as Renge went off into her little fantasy about Kyoya-sempai.

"She wasn't kidding, these cookies are burnt," Hunny-senpai commented as he put a cookie in his mouth.

"Don't eat that, Mitsukuni. It's bad for you," Mori told his cousin.

"Takashi, don't say that. She'll get mad!" Akari called out, and she was right. Renge was super evilly mad and ran after Takashi who was carrying Honey.

"They're not that bad at all. They've got a good flavor to them," Haruhi commented. Once she said that the twins had a devilish idea pop into their head.

"May I try?" Hikaru asked as he leaned closer into Haruhi's face as he bit from the cookie that was out of her mouth.

"Oh oh, Haruhi, you've got crumbs on your face," Kaoru said as he also leaned closer and licked the cookies off her face. Of course Tamaki saw that and freaked out.

"Did you see what they just did? He took a bite-" Tamaki freaked out.

"And suddenly, the trio of classmates are closer than they've ever been before," Kyoya commented.

"Yeah, I know right," Akari commented.

"Aren't you supposed to be apart of that?" Kyoya asked.

"Nah," Akari answered, "We are close friends, but those three have something already and I don't want to break it."

Akari watched the fiasco happen as Tamaki was announcing that what the twins did was sexual harassment. Then all of a sudden she hear a faint whisper that came out of Renge's mouth.

"Lukewarm."

"What did you say?" Akari tried to recall.

"Every single one of you, except for Kyoya, all of your characters are lukewarm. Each of you needs to have some sort of dark side. You understand? Girls are vulnerable to handsome young men who are troubled. If you keep carrying on like this, it's only a matter of time before the girls get tired of you and stop coming all together. Are you trying to ruin my precious Kyoya's business? As your manager, it's my duty to change your character backgrounds. Let's start with you!" Renge pointed to Hunny-senpai. "If all you are is cute, inside and out, then you're no different to a baby. Therefore, from now on, you are the baby-faced thug."

Renge walked over to Mori-sempai. "And Mori senpai, you're his childhood-friend, the flunky."

She then walked over to the twins who hugged themselves tightly, "The twins will be basketball players enslaved in their own world."

Renge then walked over to Haruhi and called her out, "Haruhi, you're an honor student who's constantly being bullied."

Akari was sitting on the couch just watching all of this happen.

"Tamaki, you're the school idol who's admired for your good looks but you actually have an inferiority complex you're hiding from the world; the lonely prince," Renge described which made Tamaki drop dead.

"And Kyoya, you're perfect just the way you are now. So I want you to stay as kind and affectionate as ever, 'kay?" Renge cheered.

"Thank you," Kyoya replied.

"What about me?" Akari asked from the couch. Renge put her finger up to her chin and thought about it carefully.

"Akari, you're the shy girl who goes to parties but never dances. You have talents but never express them. You're the wallflower of the group," Renge described.

"That's fine with me," Akari spoke, "at least it isn't something weird like the twins have."

Akari was currently watching from afar. They were currently filming a movie that Renge decided to make out of their new stereotyping. The twins were playing basketball, and suddenly Kaoru got hurt and Hikaru being the protective brother was concerned for his safety. Akari wanted to laugh badly but knew she couldn't or the movie would be ruined and she wasn't in the mode to get bitched at today.

She continued to watch as Tamaki was being all lonely and depressed. Even though he was considered the idol, but lonely. Then she was watching Haurhi being chased by Hunny-senpai and Takashi. Even though Takashi was just there as a conscious. Then Hunny-senpai failed and got out of character.

"Cut! Cut! Cut! Cut! What's wrong with you? You got to stick to the script," Renge scolded Hunny-senpai.

"But I can't," Hunny-senpai whined.

"Cameraman, stop rolling," Renge ordered.

"Yes, boss!" the Cameraman yelled aloud. Renge then went over to the cameraman to discuss how to put the movie together.

Akari was sitting in her chair just watching everyone do their parts. Akari's part wasn't until later on in the movie. They waited for a few minutes then Renge called Akari to the set.

"Akari, you're up!" Renge called. Akari got out of her seat and walked over to a gloomy gym.

"What in the hell is this?" Akari asked.

"Your scene is that you're at the party with tons of boys, and then a drunken man comes up to you, and you deny him but he wouldn't understand..." Renge tried to explained but Akari already what this scene is about.

"Basically, I'm the shy girl in the corner, and this guy wants to rape me. That's basically what you are saying," Akari told her.

"YUP!" Renge cheered.

"DO YOU REALLY THINK I'M THAT TYPE OF PERSON!?" Akari called out. "I'M NOT DOING THIS!"

"Fine! We will just cut this scene out!" Renge told Akari. Akari was already walking back. Akari was angry. She was not going through that drama, and those girls will see it again and use it against her.

"Akari what's wrong?" Hunny-senpai asked his cousin.

"I'm not doing the movie, I quit," Akari explained angrily.

"Why?" Hunny-senpai asked.

"Because all Renge wanted me to do was act like a weak little girl who had the chance of being raped and I was not going through that," Akari said, with tears almost in her eyes.

"Oh Ari-Chan," Hunny-senpai sighed and hugged his cousin who was bawling in tears. Mori-sempai was nearby and watched this unfold. He decided to say nothing against it and just walk over there and pick up his little sister and walk her out of the area. The whole host club was watching the scene unfold.

"I didn't think Akari cried," Hikaru commented.

"All girls cry Hikaru," Tamaki spoke softly, "Some are pushed to their breaking point before they are ready. Most girls hold up a strong wall until traumatic events make their walls come crashing down, and I think, Akari's wall has finally been broken down."

"That's deep Boss," Kaoru spoke.

Mori-sempai walked over with Akari in his arms bridal style.

"She's asleep," Mori-sempai spoke.

"Just lay her in the clubroom while the rest of us finish with the rest of the filming," Kyoya told Mori-sempai. Mori walked into the building and laid Akari on the couch. Her teared stained face showed the amount of pain she was experiencing.

Akari woke up on something soft, and not outside.

"Weird, I don't remember being in the club room," Akari said. She looked around to see Takashi, Hunny-senpai, Tamaki, the Twins, and Haruhi sitting at the table. "Where's Renge?"

"She has family here in Japan, so she's staying there," Kyoya spoke.

"Oh," Akari said, "Why are you all here. I thought you all be home by now."

"We just wanted to make sure you were alright," Kaoru spoke aloud. "We were all worried."

"I'm sorry," Akari said staring at the end of the couch. "I didn't mean to scare you all. I just wasn't, I don't even know how to put this."

Hunny-senpai walked over to Akari and held her hand. "It's okay. We are all here for you." The guys and Haruhi watched closely.

"Okay, it's gonna be short and sweet, no flashbacks," Akari said. "It was before I left for America. Takashi and Honey already know this story, but I might as well the rest of you. I was out in town with a few friends I was 12 or 13 at the time, I actually don't remember. We went into this shop that everyone is familiar with, but then all of a sudden my friends left. I walked out of the store to find no one there. Then all of a sudden someone grabbed me, and I was weak at the time. I didn't have any training. I was raped. It was so horrible, so that's why I learned martial arts like Takashi and Hunny-senpai. I'm really good but never good as them so they protect. That's why at the party Hunny-senpai and Takashi were the first ones to notice."

"So Renge's movie production brought back bad memories," Kyoya spoke.

"Yeah," Akari replied. "I only trust a few boys now. You guys are included, my family, my boyfriend whose actually transferring here within a few weeks, and a few boys from the school. Not many though."

"Wait, you have a boyfriend!" Tamaki yelled. "How come Daddy didn't know about this!"

Akari deadpanned, "I didn't tell you because of that reaction. He's a really nice boy, and he's up to standards."

"Anyways, that's why I was crying," Akari said, "I tried to put the past behind me, but it never seems to work."

"Don't worry we are all here for you!" Tamaki-senpai cried and then everyone gave Akari a big hug.

The next day everyone was at the host club hosting, except for Akari who was sleeping on the couch because of nightmares last night.

"Hello Ladies," Tamaki greeted to everyone.

"I bought the film you made!" a girl told him.

"I bought it too!"

"So did I!"

"You did?" Tamaki asked the girls.

"The scene is the rain was just phenomenal."

"I love the lonely prince."

"And the loving relationship between Hikaru and Kaoru was so sweet."

"I want to see Honey acting like a thug again. He was so cute."

"I couldn't get enough of Haruhi's poignant expressions."

"I wish Akari was in his too! She hangs around the host club as well!"

"Kyoya," Tamaki spoke after hearing all of the girls comments.

"I may have broken the camera's lens, but the footage that we had already shot wasn't damaged. Naturally, I did cut out that one violent scene. Sales have been pretty good so far. That Hollywood film crew did a fantastic job, but then I guess that's to be expected," Kyoya explained.

"So, is this what you meant by interesting?" Hikaru and Kaoru asked.

"It's best to have as much money as we can in the club's budget," Kyoya explained

"And just when did he start calculating all of this?" Haruhi asked Kyoya.

"Good day, everyone," Renge greeted.

"Renge, I thought you were already on your way back to France?" Tamaki asked.

"I was, but then I realized that France isn't ready for me to start a host club yet," Renge told them, "I actually came back to apologize."

"Why?" Haruhi asked.

"Akari and I didn't get off on the nicest foot yesterday, so I wanted to apologize. Where is she?" Renge said.

"She's on the couch, sleeping," Hunny-senpai told Renge. "Be careful, she didn't get that much sleep last night."

Renge walked over to where Akari was sleeping. She slowly shook Akari. She wasn't waking up, so she shook her harder. Then all of a sudden the whole club just hears a scream.

"OH MY GOD!" Akari yelled and shot up from her laying position and looked around. The whole club just looked at her. "Sorry," Akari apologized. She turned to Renge, "I was having a nice nap Renge, what do you want?"

"I just wanted to apologize about our fight the other day, I felt bad afterwards," Renge said. "I'm sorry Akari."

"It's fine, Renge, don't worry about it," Akari smiled.

"Thank you!" Renge cheered and hugged Akari. Akari doesn't like hugs after waking up, but she didn't say anything for the sake of the host club. Renge then walked over to Haruhi.

"Come on, Haruhi. Let's go to my house and play some games together. I think it's time you got to know me better," Renge said cheery and grabbed Haruhi and left the room.

"No, wait. Don't take Haruhi from me," Tamaki yelled at Renge and ran afer those two. Akari was watching eveything from the couch. She looked over at Takashi.

"I'm ready to go home now," Akari spoke to her brother.

I finally posted a new chapter up! I'm trying to make a schedule because I also do YouTube videos so I'm trying to balancing between Fanfiction and YouTube and hopefully I will have it all figured out. Remember to review, and favorite this chapter if you enjoyed!
