Ginger: So, here we are again. Not too many people seem to like this, but I still write. Well, I won't hold up anymore, here is Thomas to do the disclaimer.
Thomas: Um… The Ginger Ninja does not own Fairy Tail. He just owns this plotline and all original characters.
Ginger: Good job Thomas. Is there anything else you want to say?
Thomas: Yes, there is. What is going to happen to the people I used the drain spell on?
Ginger: I think you are just trying to get spoilers now. Get out of the intro before I force you out.
Thomas: Sorry sir, I didn't mean to be rude. *runs off hurriedly*
Ginger: Just messing with you, little kid takes things to seriously. Anyway, sorry for the long wait. I am a useless writer that never actually bothers to do work. Anyway, to Bubblekins1010, you will soon find the relationship between Natsu and Drake. Thanks for the review.
Drake looked at what he believed would be the newest member of his guild. The young boy, who no longer than 3 hours ago could not seem to speak without stuttering, was running around with the banner held above his head. A few minutes of him running down the road, he turned back and looked at Drake.
"So, am I in?" Drake looked into the boys eyes, seeing beneath the glittering hope and excitement in them. For a brief moment, he saw an old dragon. The light blue scales protecting the long serpentine body. White fur on its back, leading to feathered wings. He saw all this and more, the stories the dragon knew, the tales of both heroes and monsters, the training, the way the wind is harnessed in battle. For a few short moments he was lost in the knowledge, but managed to bring himself back to reality.
He looked away and started to walk. "That is not for me to decide." Thomas ran after him, matching his pace when he caught up to him.
"But, I thought you said…" He looked up at Drake, trying to decide if it was a good idea to continue. After steeling his courage, he spoke. "You said that you were going to survey me during my mission. Then you would determine if I was strong enough to get in the guild."
Drake had his hands in his pockets as he walked, one hand fidgeting with the small box he had in it. He slowly pulled it out, revealing to the world that it was a box of cigarettes. He slowly opened it, pulled out one, and lit it by snapping his fingers. He took a slow breath, feeling the smoke in his lungs. He answer Thomas's unsaid question as he blew it out.
"I simple report what I saw to the King. He is the one that truly decides if you are worthy or not." The small exceed that had recently taken the banner and flew around with it landed on his shoulder.
Data put his hand on his chin, stroking the fur in thought. "I still don't understand why you want to be in the guild so bad. Most of our members enjoy being part of the guild, but wouldn't really care if they were a part of it or not." He leaned in close to Drake's ear. "Not that they have too much of a choice." Drake hissed a quick 'quiet' before Data turned back to Thomas. "So, why the desire to be part of Sacred Dragon?"
Thomas stared at the briefly. "I want to make the world safe."
Data didn't even bother trying to hold in his laughter. He fell off of Drake's shoulder, holding his gut as he fell. A moment before he hit the ground, his wings sprouted out and he pulled up into the air. "That's why you want to be part of the guild? 'I want to make the world safe' Bwahahaha, man that is rich." He once again landed on Drake, but rather than his shoulder, he landed on his head. He leaned in close and whispered, or at least he tried to, he was still loud. "This kid has a lot of confidence in himself, don't he? Him, making the world safe."
Drake merely continued to walk, seemingly oblivious to the added weight on his head. A few minutes past, and the forest around them seemed to simply fade away. He took the cigarette out of his mouth, it was now barely more than just the filter, and stomped it into the ground.
Drake took in a deep breath, his first clear one since he lit the cigarette. It was when the scent hit is brain that he stopped. "I need to stop smoking in the field" he thought quietly to himself. He turned towards Thomas, hand extended.
"Banner, now." Thomas fumbled for a moment, but he got the banner out quickly. When he handed it to Drake he opened his mouth to ask what this was about, but Drake silenced him. "We do not have time to discuss. You need to climb those trees over there. A group of-" Drake stopped as he pinched the bridge of his nose, as one would to relieve a headache. "A group of four should be coming through that path soon. I need you to cast the drain spell on three of them. You can do that right?"
Thomas sat there, a mixture of confusion, excitement and fear etched on his face. He nodded slowly, knowing what he had to do. Drake then quickly pushed him towards the tree line, as he stood in the middle of the cross road. He pulled Data close to him as he gave him more instructions. After that, he stood in the center of the road, back to the forest. One thought had been on his mind.
"It would seem that Thomas is not the only one being tested today." He spoke out to the empty field.
Ginger: So yeah, not the fighting chapter. This is basically filler. I honestly just wrote this out as fast as I could (I started this chapter on March 3rd) So yeah, I said it once and I will say it again, I am a lazy writer. I will be putting up the fight, hopefully on Sunday. I may or may not have it be added to this chapter or just make it chapter 5. You will see soon enough.
Ginger: I would also like to thank Bubblekins1010 again for getting me back into this story. Reviews help people! If you don't review I don't think people like it, so what's the point of continuing? Anyway, after that guilt trip, I hope you enjoyed the newest chapter of Sacred Dragon!
