Sabrina picked up Sun's device, and pushed a button on it. The debonair face of Hilda, the demonic face of Ethan and the delicate face of Rosa appeared in three small screens attached to the device.

"What's your status, Sun?" Hilda asked.

"That ain't Sun. Even if Sun did get infected, I doubt she'd become a Gothitelle. You'd be…" Ethan started, before pausing.

I am Sabrina Natsume. You might know me as the woman who taught Leaf her skills as a psychic. And I would like to tell you all that Sun has run ahead into the face of danger with just that little girl she had. You know of her? Sabrina addressed to the three faces.

"Aurora? It's nice of Sun to bring her, but she'll only get in the way. Sun's going to get herself killed… or worse!" Rosa said.

Then you better fly fast, Sabrina said. You have precious little time to fly. I will be joining you.

Sun was soaring on the back of Altaria. After so many encounters with Dawn, Altaria could vaguely detect her and the rival Altaria. Either way, not having researched Dawn's location allowed her to have a conversation with Aurora.

"Are you sure you're all right, Aurora? We might actually see your father…" Sun said.

"Arora not scared… of dad. Arora have… girl… friend in Sun. Sun will protect Arora," Aurora said.

"Wait… did you just call me… girlfriend?" Sun asked tentatively.

"Girl-friend. Mummy has boy-friend to keep her protect. Arora has Sun to keep her protect. Sun is girl, so Sun girl-friend," Aurora said. Sun opened her mouth to correct her, before reconsidering.

"Sun? Is Sun alright?" Aurora asked.

"Sun is fine, Aurora," Sun said, giving Aurora a small kiss on the cheek. Aurora pulled her arms to cover her chest.

Shoot… "Don't you trust me, Aurora?" Sun asked, a little bit terrified.

"Arora… trust Sun…" Aurora said, pulling down her arms, and tugging at her top.

"No, Aurora…" Sun said, putting a hand on hers. Aurora tilted her head, puzzled.

"You have a long way to go…" Sun mumbled to herself.

"Ahem… if you're done flirting with the little one, I have detected Dawn's Altaria. Am I clear to land?" Altaria asked. Sun looked over Altaria's wing, to see a small, ramshackle hut. It both made perfect sense and zero sense at the same time, but Sun wasn't about to question it.

"Yes… yes, you're clear…" Sun said. Altaria zoomed to the ground, slower than she normally went with just Sun. Aurora looked over Sun's shoulder tentatively.

"Stay… like this?" Aurora asked.

"Yes, Aurora. Sun likes you like that. Forget everything your father ever told you, all right?" Sun said. Aurora nodded. Sun grabbed her hand, and they entered the small building. They saw Dawn's Altaria perched in the room, along with the infected forms of Red, Leaf and Kris.

"Score," Sun said. As the word escaped her lips, a loud klaxon noise sounded, and the door slammed shut. Sun commanded a Dragon Pulse out of Altaria, but as it turned out, the ramshackle hut wasn't so flimsy after all.

"Arora… scared…" Aurora said.

The four groups- Sabrina, Ethan, Hilda, and Rosa's- converged together at last.

Now what? Sabrina asked. Do any of you have another way of finding Sun?

"Nope. That device she dropped was the only one," Rosa said. Sabrina sunk her head into her hands.

"Wait a moment… is Kris with Sun's parents?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, why?" Erika asked.

"I think I might be able to track down Kris. Don't count on it… but it's the only plan I can think of," Ethan said. "Not unless one of you has a hitherto unknown way to find Red, Leaf, Kris, Sun, Aurora, Dawn or Tslye?"

The unanimous response of negative around the flyers was delivered, and Ethan closed his right eye. Reopening it, he realised something.

"Yeah, this won't work. Plus, I think Whitney's disappearance is causing more of a pull. I remember hearing her once before…" Ethan said. Everyone growled.

"Split up and search the globe?" Rosa asked. The groups decided on that plan, Ethan still kicking himself for forgetting Whitney's peril. Everyone just crossed their fingers that they could find anyone they were looking for before bad stuff happened.

The doorway slowly opened. Sun turned on the spot, to see what she recognised to be Tslye Laromi stepping into the room. Aurora quickly hid behind Sun, while Sun sent out her Mew and Lopunny.

"Are you Tslye Laromi?" she asked.

"Yes, that would be my name. And might I say, you look adorable," Tslye said. He felt a sudden tightening at his throat, as Mew's eyes narrowed.

"Don't butter me up with perverted words, buddy. I know you designed the Pokérus Mark IV. Tell me the cure, and release my parents!" Sun said. Aurora peeked around Sun's waist.

"…Would that happen to be-" Tslye started.

"Your daughter? …No, of course not," Sun said.

"Of course that girl isn't. Your daughter was older than that… and wasn't she mutated?" Dawn asked from behind Tslye.

"Well, you see, I actually have a second daughter. Funnily enough, her mother is actually the first daughter!" Tslye said. Dawn's eyes narrowed.

"Dawn?" Tslye asked nervously.

"You… you… what?" she asked. Sun perked up.

"Did you seriously… did you seriously… you did what?" Dawn asked.

"Yep. He raped his own daughter, and she was the result," Sun said. Dawn looked at Tslye murderously.

"I knew you had impure intentions when you told me to steal your little Ninetales… but raping her? Impregnating her? You completely and utterly disgust me, Laromi. Our partnership is over," Dawn said.

"So does that mean you're on the right side now?" Sun asked optimistically.

"Yep. I work alone now. I no longer need the assistance of Team Surge. Kaiah betrayed me already… and that dumb Katherine no longer deserves my kindness. I no longer need to worry about these so-called allies," Dawn said. She pulled out a small syringe, and stabbed it into Tslye. Tslye roared out in pain, as the transformation overtook him.

"Don't worry, Sun… This change will not affect us. Our immune systems can still shrug off Pokérus Mark IV, but not for long. I just added a little spice that overrided Tslye's immunity. I'm sorry about risking Tslye's daughter… you two look cute, you know. I leave you today. You can retrieve your family. Next time we meet, you may not be so lucky. Return, Altaria… you are no longer needed here," Dawn said.

"I refuse to follow you," Altaria said.

"What?" Dawn asked.

"I tolerated your little tantrum for so long… but no longer. Alfa… I'm sorry. But I'm joining the right side, even if you won't," Dawn's Altaria said.

"… I accept. I already have two fliers… you are released from duty. And Sun… take these. But Tslye's just about done… I should really be leaving," Dawn said, throwing a belt down at Sun, before hopping astride Bravo and flying away. Tslye let out a massive roar, and leered at Sun. Like Dawn predicted earlier, Tslye was a Hydreigon.

My Leaf… Sun thought in horror. Tslye reared back, and shot a Dragon Pulse that knocked Aurora into a wall.

"AURORA!" Sun cried out. She ran to Aurora's side, and turned her over. She put one hand over Aurora's heart, feeling for a pulse. One remained.

"Phew, you're alive…" Sun said. She turned to Tslye, furious. Her hands began to glow.

"How could you attempt do something so… so wrong as to attempt to murder your own child?" Sun asked, glaring daggers at the dragon.

"She is my rightful property, Ardour. Born of my blood, I have every right to do as I wish. Surely your own parents did the same?" Tslye asked.

How… How DARE you compare us to yourself? How DARE you consider yourself as just as a former Champion, as the most powerful psychic in all the land? Leaf cried out.

"Mum, your titles aren't helping. But I'll have you know, Tslycke, that my mother carefully honed my psychic abilities. She gave me a name: Sun Seto Ardour. She treated me like a human being, and not just a toy to be played with and discarded. Tell me, what is Serena's true name? What is Aurora's? Did you let anyone try to choose one?" Sun asked, glaring at Tslye.

"Of course not," Tslye said.

"All right, you're just asking for it now. You're a waste of the air you breathe, and you have far outlived any human being's compassion for you. Your most loyal little minion left you for dead. Trust me, I can name three people who deserve to kill you more than I. However, as much as it pains me to do… I will be killing you in their stead. SIGNAL BEAM!" Sun said, pointing at Tslye. A stream of rectangles in reds, blues and purples burst from her fingertip, and hit Tslye for super effective damage.

"What the… That actually hurt!" Tslye called out.

"Didn't stop you!" Sun said. "ICE BEAM!"

This time, a stream of ice shot from her fingers, hitting Tslye right beside the tail. Sun focused, and grew a fishy tail.

"IRON TAIL!" she cried, spinning her new tail around to smack Tslye across all three faces. Her tail vanished on the spot.

"SURF!" she called, closing her eyes, and summoning a tidal wave. The wave blasted Tslye into the nearest wall.

"FROST BREATH!" Sun said, opening her mouth. Cold air appeared on Tslye's wings, pinning him to the wall. Sun stepped back to admire her handiwork.

"You may think you've won… but I will defeat you. You are aware of this, correct?" Tslye asked.

"Not at all. SHEER COLD!" Sun said. The room turned to ice, and clumps of ice appeared all over Tslye's body. He fell to the ground, completely frozen.

It's a one-hit KO!

Sun turned from the fallen foe, shivering from being exposed to such low temperatures, but content that she had defeated the monster. She walked over to Aurora, and picked her up.

Sun! Are you all right? Leaf asked, leaving the place they had been sitting to join Sun. Sun hurriedly constructed a psychic barrier three metres away.

"Mum, Aurora can still get infected. I'd rather that not happen," Sun said. Leaf nodded, and Sun weakened her grip. Leaf was allowed to approach more carefully, with Red and Kris sitting beside her.

Is she all right? Kris asked, looking at the girl Sun was holding.

"She's cold. Mum, I'm going to Celadon…" Sun started, before keeling over softly.

Sun! You're in no condition to do anything! Leaf said.

"I'm all right, mum… just overexerted my body… especially that Iron Tail and Sheer Cold… my mind's just fine," Sun said. Her own Altaria invited itself out of its Poké Ball, and all of Sun's other partners returned. Altaria picked up Sun, and Sun used some telekinesis to lift Aurora along. Altaria lifted off, followed by Dawn's Altaria, who carried Dawn's belt. Leaf and Kris followed on the back of Red.

Ethan and Jasmine landed beside a secluded hut. Were it not for the milk bottles pumping out of the shack, an observer might call this shack abandoned. However, to Ethan, there was no way he couldn't see this shack for what it really was, milk bottles or no.

His wife was in there.

Ethan wasted no time. He blasted down the door with a Shadow Punch, and entered the room. He looked about, noting the shack's features. The room was empty, barring the most important elements. Those said elements were a Team Surge scientist and Whitney herself, half-Miltank and Moomoo Milk coming out of her by the truckload.

"I have said this a million times before… but even I wouldn't go that far! Yeesh, Team Surge is really trying, aren't they?" Shadow said. The scientist looked up.

"Who are you? I am suctioning Moomoo Milk for Tslye himself!" the scientist said.

"Urgh, I hate it when people pull rank!" Ethan said. "Look, lady, you could be Leaf herself, and that would still not forgive me catching you torture my wife red-handed. Let her go, and I may consider not letting Shadow take over and destroy you."

"No… Tslye gave me strict orders to tend to this task… I will continue…" the scientist said. Ethan rolled his eyes, and charged in. He managed to free Whitney within moments, while Jasmine got up close to the scientist. She turned around, exposing her Mawile jaw.

"No, you won't. Tslye is a child-molesting crook: how he amassed a team of any size is beyond me. You would do better than to listen to him," Jasmine said, making her Mawile jaw snap a little.

"…Who do you think you are, threatening me? I am Katherine Ragon, future wife to Tslye Laromi, otherwise known as the guy who promised me you lot would be on a leash! That Ninetales daughter of his obeyed his every command!" Katherine said.

"That would've been due to blackmail, not anything on the part of your little disease. Oh, and I'm not infected," Ethan said. "Your plan kinda fell to pieces there."

"No… no, they couldn't have… Tslye's plans are perfect!" Katherine said.

"Forget it, she's deluded. Let's just get out of here," Whitney said. Jasmine sent out Swellow and Skarmory. The two girls jumped aboard their birds.

"Coming, Ethan?" Whitney asked. Ethan took one last look at Katherine.

"…Sure," Ethan said. He jumped on the back of Swellow, and the two flew back homeward.

Leaf was pacing the Celadon Gym with some trepidation. She had contacted Sabrina, and told everyone to regroup there. For now, only the Unova and Kalos groups had arrived, as had Sabrina and Erika herself. Sun was in her room with Aurora.

Leaf, for the sixty-fourth time… relax, Sabrina said.

How can I? My daughter found her love, and she's on her deathbed! Leaf responded.

"Leaf, honey, are you sure she loves her? I mean, they are both girls…" Red asked tentatively.

Sun told me… even if Aurora doesn't reciprocate, Sun will always consider her her closest friend. Did you see the way she looked at her? Don't tell me you don't look at me that way! Leaf said. Sun walked down the stairs, her head downcast.

Did she make it? Leaf asked.

"No… between Dragon Pulse and… *sob* Sheer Cold, she took too much… too much damage. I even… I even tried one of the Max Revives… *sob* she's dead," Sun said. "Gone, and I couldn't… no, I didn't do a thing! That… I should've let him go, got Aurora medical attention… checked to see if any of you can do a Heal Pulse… It's… it's my fault…"

No, my dear. It is his fault. Do not blame yourself for Tslye Laromi's crimes. Just take solace in the fact that he is dead… Leaf said.

Tslye is dead? Calem asked incredulously. Sun killed him?

"I would've let one of you do the deed… but he needed to die immediately. I… I couldn't let him… no, I didn't let you kill him… If I did… maybe… maybe Aurora would be with us…" Sun said.

Sun, I agree with your mother. Don't blame yourself for anything my father did. Yes, I would've liked to have made him suffer, but… six moves, did you say? Serena said.

"Six. Signal Beam, Ice Beam, Iron Tail, Surf, Frost Breath… *sob* Sheer Cold… should've started with that…" Sun said.

No, I'm amazed you hit him with that at all. But that was a lot of pain he suffered… Good riddance, I say. Teaches him to force me to have a daughter and then kill her… Serena said. Though I must say… killing two different little girls? I'm starting to feel grateful I was only violated…

Serena, remove that thought from your head. …If you don't mind, Leaf, I would like to go make sure Tslye is dead. No offence, Sun, but I spent three years tracking him down. I want to make sure he died, Shauna said. Leaf, Sun and Serena all nodded, and Shauna left to fly to the setting of Tslye's final showdown.

"I'm going too…" Sun said.

You will do no such thing! I know you're hurt, and you're still angry at Dawn… but this is not the time to track her down! We will form a better plan than a headlong charge, and then we will track her down… together. And we will convince her to see reason, arrest her… but she doesn't deserve to die nearly as much as Tslye did, Leaf told her.

"…All right, fine," Sun said. She gave a small whistle, and summoned two Altaria.

"Oh, no, Altaria. I was summoning Dawn's," Sun said. She gave her own Altaria a scratch under the chin before she flew back with the rest of her Pokémon. Sun turned to Dawn's Altaria.

"So what's Dawn's deal?" she asked.

"Nine years ago, a man by the name of Cyrus tried to destroy the universe and recreate it in his image. You ever heard of him? Cyrus, Team Galactic?" Altaria started.

"Vaguely. Barry and Candice mentioned a Team Galactic… and didn't they warn us not to talk about it with Dawn?" Nate told her. Everyone else nodded agreement.

"Good, I can skip that part. Anyway, the final confrontation with Cyrus took place atop Mt Coronet. That bastard was using her energy to power Dialga and Palkia, and Lucas and Barry were going to stop him. The Distorted One, Giratina, shattered the Red Chain, and dragged Cyrus to the Distortion World. Lucas, Dawn and Barry received the blessings of… Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit respectively… or was it Mesprit, Uxie and Azelf… no, the first way around was correct. Anyway, they got the blessings, and followed Cyrus.

"The battle with Cyrus in the Distortion World was rather hectic. However, Cyrus soon realised he was out-matched, and attacked Dawn in a last-ditch effort. In order to save her, Lucas knew he had to act fast. Lucas pulled Cyrus off of Dawn, and into the infinite abyss of the Distortion World," Altaria stated.

"Lucas… did he survive? Can we bring him back?" Sun asked.

"No, and no. Giratina caught Lucas, but it's not the fall that kills you. Lucas' sudden shift in velocity took a huge toll on his body, and he died in Dawn's arms. Dawn carried Lucas' Pokémon, including one of her greatest phobias in Garchomp, ever since… except for the tournament, when Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf used them… or at least, I think he used them. He might've used those psychic reconstructs I've heard vaguely about…" Altaria said.

Psychic reconstructs? Possible. Sun's very own Mew used psychic reconstructs of me and Red's teams against Ethan and Kris once. It's not too implausible that the lake guardians could've done the same… Leaf said. She gestured for Altaria to continue.

"Um… there's not much else to say, really. Well… Dawn lost the man of her dreams, and there wasn't so much as a comforting word from anybody. I'm sure that'd drive anyone at least a little mad. Dawn just got power to go mad with," Altaria said.

"Power to go mad with?" Rosa asked, tilting her head.

"You ever tried going mad without power? It's boring, no one listens to you. Going mad with power, though… keep in mind, you're all monsters thanks to her," Sun said.

Yes… it would seem that Dawn's little insane rampage has caused quite a bit of suffering… but where would she go from here? Leaf asked. Sun looked at Dawn's Altaria. Her rebellion gave some unique insight into Dawn's mind, but at the cost of her no longer being beside Dawn. Sun couldn't use her own Altaria to track Dawn down.

"What would Dawn do? She has just torn all ties to anybody… but I don't think she'd consider resuscitating Cyrus' plan, would she?" Sun asked.

"She said she had considered it," Altaria said. Sun gulped, and looked upstairs at where Aurora's body still lay.

"Don't blame her. But destroying the entire universe seems a little… dramatic…" Sun said.

I know you lost your love, but that's no need for contemplating genocide? That's not the Sun I raised! Leaf said.

"Who said I was contemplating it? I just said it's vaguely understandable. I can't stand for Dawn actually carrying it out, but I'm grateful I don't have to sit through another Tslye. Because I'm entitled to. I'm surprised Serena and Aurora survived listening to him, much less the actual torture," Sun said.

Aurora was… wait, what? Serena asked. Sun turned to face Serena in shock.

Yes, Tslye is dead, Shauna said, coming back into the room, and startling both Sun and Serena. They both breathed a sigh of relief.

"So yeah… what were we saying?" Sun asked.

Um… don't remember. Sorry, Sun… it'll come to me, Serena said.

*ahem* Anyway, we know where Dawn might be… but the night is starting to come upon us. We'd better wait until daylight to get up Mt Coronet, Leaf said. Wouldn't want the world to be destroyed because we sprained an ankle.
