(Disturbed-Warrior. Really fits this chapter :) )
Illumina brought down clouds from the sky and used them to hide her spiritual shape. Her slim figure blended in with the wispy clouds and soon she took the appearance of one. She could try what she had done before, but by surprise on a possible weak spot. But where was her weak spot?
She couldn't see anything as Iris' blinding light made her see spots. Coming out of the center of a cloud, Iris dug her diamond claws unintentionally into Illumina's wrist.
Losing her disguise, she flew above Iris and brought down a torrent of energy. Iris took a heavy blow and half of her quills shattered on impact. Iris knew this lady was not as strong as she imagined, nor was she a pushover. Sighing, new quills took the place of the old ones as she ran her claws through them.
Illumina waited for Iris to make a move, but she didn't. She was wondering whether she was testing her, or waiting for something. turns out, she was waiting. The negative who she was talking to earlier came back with a round stone absorbed into itself. Plunging her hand into it, Iris ripped out the stone.
The negative fell to the ground as it turned to nothingness.
Illumina now knew that she could do nothing. Iris had taken what was left of her energy resources, that being the beloved precious stone that held her world in order.
"Ideya, as you call it, reigns supreme over many a dreamscape. It is meant to be left in its raw state, and coursing with it's... unstable energy. That I have known for many dreamtimes." Iris droned onto herself. "Abuse it, twist it to your whim how you will, it will be your downfall. Unless you know how to do so correctly, and hold absolute power. "
Illumina was becoming concerned for her well being, and the stability of the dreamscapes.
" No one in any universe will ever hold absolute power. In non-reality or in reality. Why are you so different? You do not exist and therefore cannot be a vessel."
She remembered hearing a legend of that whomever could make it to the Nexus would be seen as a worthy vessel. But, you would have to be put through rigorous trials to determine your good-heartedness. You would also have to belong to the physical world. unless...she did..? but why would it accept someone of ill-will?
"I don't exist..? I beg to differ. I am very real. I am of flesh and blood. I am connected to the heart of all the universes combined. ...My glorious haven full of unlimited power..."
Illumina thought her words untrue until she saw it with her own eyes. The Nexus had accepted her as it's vessel. Those stars around her seemed so otherworldly, not belonging to any other dimension. She thought the Nexus was pure... Wiseman's small nightmare dimensions may have turned it corrupt. Making her job easier.
curse him and his evil antics. This female entity is not only here to recreate this world in sadistic ways... she wants to reshape all of them! and she really can if that's the case! Oh...
A look of hopelessness passed over her face.
"You...and others...may see my visions as sick and demented. But I see them as wonderful creations worth sharing with the rest of the world. Heh. I wonder if you could handle the 'nightmares'. on that note, I know that you fear you will fail to protect this thing." she looks at the precious stone and crushes it into small pieces.
She lets the remnants fall into Illumina's hands as the spectral guardian casts a tearful glance to the ground. Illumina becomes consumed with the self guilt that she has felt for herself before and splits herself into two beings. The good being, known as Lumina stays and does her best to fight. The other malicious being, known as Void, creeps into well, the void where the distorted and endless dreams are.
Interesting. I thought only Mephiles could split into different entities. Hmm.. anyways, I'm done with her. She poses not even a slight threat anymore.
Lumina, defeated, leaves the Night's dimension with Sonic and Tails cradled in her arms. The cute little dream creatures consisting of pandas and monkeys retreat with Lumina. She barely has enough magic to take them all back to the portal and pushes them through. She tries to devise a plan to be used for later. She will have to go it alone it seems... she will become the sacrifice for the greater good. Her people depend on her as their leader and protector, not just a goddess.
