"By all means we have to get there!" shouted Anna when Sven raced downhill going to the house he knew by smell.

"Is right there!" he got down helping his pregnant wife.

Just when he was about to knock the door swung open, they were preparing for the search party.

"Kristoff" said David recognizing he had been back "what happened?"

"Her plan sort of work" he said while they entered the house.

"Anna!" said Henry "So she did it, she trade herself"

"Did she melt her mother's heart?" asked Regina.

"She is in bad shape I doubt she can manage it" admitted Kristoff.

"Were you hurt?" asked Emma to Anna.

"I surely did greater damage to Hans that he could had manage to do to me" she shook her head trying to get focus "never mind that! Elsa needs your help!" she looked at all of those concerned eyes "the only way that the ice will melt is if you melt it"

"What?"

"Mother said it had to be an act of true love delivered by the people she was trying to protect, that's why it didn't work with me, it has to be from you"

"What? Why didn't she say something?"

"If she had said the truth the Queen would had doomed you or something like that" said Kristoff calmly

"And since she is so good at keeping secrets it must had been her ultimate joke on her" said Regina.

"Point being, if she is going to have a chance of surviving it will be you" finished Anna taking a deep breath "Please, I lost my sister already too many times and for too long, I can't afford to lose her again, please, help us…help her…"

"Of course we will" said Snow putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Which way?" asked Ruby trying to catch a scent in the air.

"North Mountain"

"Then we will take them from behind, an ambush"

"Then what?"

"Well, we always make the plan as we go"

"I need more time" said the Queen to Hans "bring me the chest" she commanded and he brought a wooden box full with objects, objects that Elsa knew all too well.

"That's Anna's doll" she gazed "and mine, from when we were children"

"Why of course, dear, I need them to complete my spell, it had to be the object of your affection, it's a trade, something old that kept a bound, for something new to destroy it" she said devilish

"For how long have you had them?" she felt her voice trembling. Her hands as well as her arms and legs were now completely white.

"If you must know, my little girl, since your dear father tried to drown us"

"Since then?" she hugged herself "Why?" she blinked twice "all this time you have been planning this?"

"Why no, it was after I learned the truth of Rumple's and your father's agreement that I decided I had to put an end to this, that's when the Dark One hid you away"

"In the urn" she told herself "So why did you have them? Why to take the dolls?"

"Well…" she thought it over as it had been in another life when she did this, it might as well had been "Anna gave them to me" she answered "whenever we had a trip she used to give us a small thing that would resembled to both so we wouldn't miss you"

"So she gave you the dolls for you to remember us" she saw her face "and you kept them. The boat wrecked and you kept them both"

The Queen ignored her comment and turned back to the chest "I am glad I did, this will facilitate the strength and the speed in which my spell spreads" she gazed over her shoulder at her "Sorry, our spell"

"I won't take part of it" she said thru gritted teeth.

"We shall see darling"

Elsa exhaled closing her eyes suppressing another round of chills as she thought 'You have to find a way to melt her heart, appeal to her past, the good memories' she breathed in "Do you…remember…when we were little…when Anna was just a baby… the, the lullaby you used to sing?"

The Queen stood still for a second "What about it?"

"I recall…it would always calm her down, even if she had a fever or after a bad dream…"

"Yes" she corroborated "it was her favorite, she wouldn't go to sleep if I didn't sang it to her. Even when she broke down with a fever that would calm her" her features softened if only a bit.

Elsa breathed deeply trying to find her tender side "You used to tell her that that lullaby would always accompany us, that if we listen closely we would hear it in the wind"

"That was what my mother used to say to me, so that is what I told you"

"She always believed it; she wouldn't spend a day without hearing the howling of the air in hope of hearing your voice"

The Queen curved her lips into a soft, small smile, but as soon as she pulled it a hurt frown flashed on her face, like if the life she had fled and so desperately tried to forget had come to haunt her "well…that is a shame isn't it?" she cleared her throat forsaking the depressing thought "Is a shame we are left with the memories we despise, the ones that hurt us"

"They are not pernicious, they are precious, you cared for us, you used know how to love…"

"And not it's all over, for both of us" she said sternly

"It will never be over; I won't follow your path"

"You won't like it at first, but I promise you will forget all of this once I am done with it" she turned to face the chest and mumbled a couple of words before a purple cloud spread around her "All those memories that torment you so much will be wiped out, not a trace of those nightmares that kept you awake all your childhood, it is a great gift, don't you think my dear Elsa? I won't take your magic away, but I will erase everything that made you afraid of it"

She doubted herself, of course she had suffered countless times for those painful reminders of the accident, but she couldn't give in into what her mother said "those things made me the person I am, I wouldn't trade them"

"Then again, why would you? Everything was fine with you before that fatidic night. You were in control, you used to love the magic you could do, and you never felt out of place or like a danger. But after…well, you know better than any how the story ended. Locked in a room, frightened, alone…I can get rid of all that, wouldn't you be a much better person if you hadn't the reminder that you almost killed Anna twice?"

That hurt, that cut deep down into her, she wanted to forget that more than anything else in her life, even more than her parents passing "I-I…"

"You don't have to decide or to do anything" she said in the soothing and maternal voice that always reassured her as a child "just stop fighting" she pleaded with a tone that Elsa couldn't place, she couldn't tell if she was pretending or if she was actually concerned "please" she caressed her cheek "you must be so tired, you have been fighting the ice for so long, it would be easier if you could just, close your eyes and lay" she passed her fingertips over her eyelids "Just close your eyes and everything will be over in a moment. It will be like a distant dream, no more hurt, hate, fear; nothing. It's a new beginning. That is all I ever wanted to give you" she whispered as a lullaby

Her eyelids started to give in, she had been so tired and now the idea of finally resting felt so appealing. Of falling asleep and wake up to a new life, one where she had a mother and had never almost killed her sister, it would all be just a bad dream, it was so close…she wanted to give in, to forget, to let it go…

She finally closed her eyes loosing all strength in her body and if only for seconds she felt cold surround and embrace her with might turning her skin pale as snow and frosty as ice… all but an insignificant part in her heart that kept a flame burning within…
