Author's Note: And sadly my vacation comes to an end. Is that bitter sweet taste of victory and faulier at the same time. I do hope I used my time wisely, although I didn't achieve all my goals, so before the aweful knowledge of how sucky sunday is going to feel, I wanted to share with you this chapter. It has been by far the hardest chapter for me to write and though that doesn't garantee it will be good I hope you will enjoy it.

Oh! fair alert, this is going to be probably the...SADDEST chapter yet, so...you have been warned...plz don't hate me much...

"Queen!" was all that Hans could say before being knocked down yet again in the snow. Anna just smiled proudly at her husband.

"I will round the perimeter, see if I can find a way to sneak without being caught" Ruby said running towards the forest.

"Okay, the rest of us, we are going to team up and take strategic positions, everybody grab a torch and a weapon of choice"

"Alright!, let's get that Snow Queen and save my sister" said Anna determined before Kristoff interfered.

"Wow, wait there feisty pants" he grabbed her by the arm "you are staying right here"

"Wait, what?! You can't be serious!, that is my sister and mother we are taking about"

"I know, I know, but listen" he took her hands "I can't let you risk your health, you are carrying our child, if anything happened…I can't loose you both"

He was usually a rough mountain man, but Anna too knew he was tender "Nothing bad will happen, Elsa wouldn't hurt me"

"I am sorry but…even if by accident she has hurt you and I can't even dare to think of what your mother could do" he exhaled "is not up to discussion, you have our baby…"

"I don't want to live in a world where I don't have the people I love anymore"

"You won't loose us; I promise I will bring Elsa back" he kissed her heartedly "please stay safe, Sven will carry you out of here if things get out of hand, please promise you will escape if necessary"

"Only if necessary, I want to be here for you"

"You will" he smiled and turned around to leave with the others. David looked at them both an exhaled, he himself had left Snow White back at the house with Neal and he too intended to keep his promise and go back to them.

They were fast reunited with Red that instructed them thru whispers where they were located.

"They are just a couple of meters into the deeper woods, its pretty much unguarded…"

"But?" asked Regina knowing that look.

"There is a kind of vault, it doesn't seem normal; I don't know what kind of magic could be there"

"What about Elsa?"

"Well, that is the other thing" she scan thru them "where is Anna"

"left behind for her own safety, why?"

"Because for the looks of it, she will need all the loving thought she can muster" her expression said it all "I hope we are not too late…"

Elsa was faintly fading away into slumber, she could barely even see her surrounding any more, and that brought ease to her. It felt like if she was between a dream and reality. But she couldn't tell which the dream was; Could she have harmed her sister all those years ago? Where was she or her sister? But none of that seemed to matter, it was all going to be a bad memory washed away and buried under her thoughts.

The Queen just smiled pleasantly "Its time for me to continue with the storm you have unraveled, my lovely girl" she stood up an extended her arms to the sky, which turned gray within seconds covering all traces of the sun. Then she brought her hands together in a loud clap the exploded a wave of snow all around them. If it had been solid ice, that might had actually froze all the hearts in the town, but instead it just expanded highly setting a stronger snow storm all over Storybrooke. "Let us see how much you enjoy being trap under deep snow" she smiled wickedly "Oh Agdar, you could had made this so much more easier" she looked up to where the sun was hiding "but I guess our tale wasn't meant to have a happing ending, at least our misfortune will be shared with all of them" she gazed to the town then turning around being pulled by the strength of her own wind, just in time to catch a glimpse of a moving figure.

"Hans, darling everything ready for us to depart?"

"Sorry dearie, but you are not going anywhere"

"Rumple!" she gritted her teeth "You don't know when to walk away, do you?"

"Not until my side of the deal is cleared" he walked towards fearlessly.

"Where is Hans?"

"Poor boy needed a nap"

"Good thing I don't need him to defeat you"

"Well, maybe you will to defeat all of us" said Charming from behind her and soon she was surrounded by all the heroes.

The Queen just smiled amused "Is this your attempt of an act of true love?" she laughed cynically "I must say I am impressed" she clapped slowly "too bad you are all too late" she moved aside allowing them to see her daughter lying next to the tree motionless and completely white.

"No" they said shocked and sorrowful

"But let us cheer up, here is a little game my dear daughters loved to play" she casted a spell "let's build a snowman" five medium size snow-monsters appeared in front of them protecting the Queen while she took the potion to make her winter eternal, even if she departed. No one would ever escape her curse now.

Kristoff well used to the scene wasted no time in looking to his surroundings to find a tactical advantage. At least the blizzard couldn't blurry his vision as bad, he was used to it by now "Someone has to get to Elsa!" he shouted "we have to stop her before she takes her to another portal!"

Regina and Gold used their magic in a fire form attacking the monsters, but fire did little to slow them down, these monsters were stronger. David and Belle were sword fighting the best they could while giving time to Red to sneak to where Elsa was. She was barely conscious.

"Come on Elsa fight it!" she moved her shoulder, she was colder than ice. "Don't give in. She tries to take away the best of you. Your memories made you the person you are"

Elsa slowly opened an eye; she remembered that as if it were from a faraway dream.

Just when Red was going to make her stand a snow-monster knocked her far away crashing against a tree, landing in the snow.

"No, no, no, you can't disturb her now, she has a new life ahead of her, she doesn't have time for your pity-talk" the Queen said kneeling next to her daughter "close your eyes dear" she said softly and Elsa wanted to give in to it, but something had awakened within her.

"Get away from my sister!" yelled the fearless red-headed girl.

"Anna!" Kristoff cried "you are not supposed to be here!"

"Go, we got you covered" said David.

"That's my family we are talking about, I am not leaving!" she said determined taking David's extra sword starting to fight her way thru, she was feisty for a reason.

"You are in danger here, please leave" said Belle "Elsa won't forgive herself if something happens to you"

"Well the feeling is mutual" she countered back cutting thru the ice with might.

"Well, isn't that the brave little girl that fought against the empty armor in the castle" said the Queen "Those lessons paid off" she mocked

"You let my sister go and walk away"

"Why would I do that?"

"Because I don't want to hurt you, but if I must" she raised her sword.

"You continue to amuse me. An hour ago you ran off crying and now you are back with all the courage in the world, why is that?"

"That's love, not that I think you know it anymore"

The Queen threw an ice spike her way, but before it stroke her, a sword interfered avoiding the hit.

"Hans?!" asked Anna confused.

"Sorry Queen, but our agreement is over" he said cutting thru the leg of one of the monsters.

"How dare you!" the Queen exclaimed creating a new monster to corner him.

Awkward enough Kristoff and Hans were fighting back to back for once, whatever Hans's plan was, at least he was siding with them for now and they could count on his good fighting skills.

"You try to betray us and I make sure the twelfth heir of the Southern Isles never gets to see the light again"

"Easy mountain man, first let's see if any of us lives to see the light again" he fought next to him

"Emma, Regina, combine your magic with mine, it might be strong enough to beat this snowmen" said Rumple blasting a fire spell.

"Right" they combined their forces creating a blast that evaporated three of the monsters. The balance was turning in favor of the heroes again.

"Well this has been mighty entertaining, but its time to put an end to this" the Queen said infuriated. She clenched her hands into fists and blasted ice everywhere blowing everyone to the ground unconscious, all but one. "So my dear Anna, you risked everything and lost it all again just to try to save your sister, even thought she hurt you, she abandoned you, she shut you out"

"Now I know why she did what she did, she loves me and I love her, so we forgave each other"

"Forgiveness is not as easy as you think my child"

"Of course it is…I even forgave you for keeping us apart" she looked to her sister whom was awakening "I could even forgive you if you just stopped" she took a step forward "you don't have to be the villain anymore, you are our mother, you once loved us" she dropped the sword "I won't fight you" she looked into her eyes "because I know deep down, you still have a beating heart, and I won't give up on you" she smiled tenderly.

The Queen's heart was haunt by grief and she actually felt it beat once again as it used to before. She could feel the remorse and that made her loose it, just as Elsa's emotions triggered her powers, her mother couldn't hold it back and ice spiked around hitting the only person that had faced her. Anna felt to her knees gasping for air holding her chest. She was already familiar with the feeling, but never had it hurt so badly.

The Queen stood still unable to believe her eyes, even if she had threatened to harm her, she was unable to place the feeing inside of her now that she had succeded; it was anger, guilt, confusion

"Anna!" seeing her sister hurt took away the pasive state she had been and now she felt awaken with trembling fear, she had been unable yet again to protect her. With whatever strength Elsa had left, she crawled next to her sister hugging her close resting her head against her lap. "Don't worry Anna, I got you"

The words stroke the Queen's heart as the memory played in her mind, she had seen her two little girls that hurt once and it had nearly destroyed her, and now it was because of her own hand. She kneeled next to them.

"Don't" said Elsa softly crying "Don't touch her" she rested her head against her baby sister's "You are going to be alright, Anna"

The Queen saw the sadness in her eyes and how Anna laid motionless breathing deeply. "I only wanted…the opportunity…for you to be free, with me" said the Queen stuttering, caressing her cheek "But I hurt you worst than anyone could ever have" her voice gave away her true feelings.

"Why did you hide the truth from me?" she cried "Why to shut me in my room?" Elsa demanded never tearing her eyes apart from Anna.

"I feared the people could hurt you as they once did with me" her lips twitched "I am sorry, Elsa" she lay her hand on her shoulder even if she refused to look at her in the eye. "I took everything away from you, as they did with me… I am the monster" and then, she let it go, she let go all the grief, the hurt, the anger, the resentment and there was nothing else left but the person she once was.

Elsa couldn't take it any longer so she turned to face her and for the first time in forever, Elsa got her wish granted and hugged her mother; the real one, the one that cared and loved for her, she even felt…warm.

The Queen embraced her allowing her child to cry into her shoulder. The Queen couldn't rememeber the last time Elsa had ever allowed her to be helth in her arms and the wonderful feeling of having her near and to finally protect her from the rest of the world thawned the only ice that had resided in her heart for so long. Her mother caressed her hair as it slowly started to melt away, couple of drops started to slide down her fingers. Elsa opened her eyes when she felt one fall on her cheek. She looked up to find her own hands were turning once more into pink flesh.

"What is happening?"

"An act of true love delivered by the person you were trying to protect"

"You" she said slowly.

"That is all I ever wanted" The Queen kissed her forehead and Elsa felt the cold faint until it just resided in her heart. The Queen held her daughter and retrieved the spike of ice from her heart making her jolt.

"I am so sorry" the Queen said, her hair turning brown again. She caressed Anna's cheek kissing her forehead as well. Suddenly she opened her eyes catching her breath unevenly turning to flesh again.

"Wait, what?" she looked around and was greeted by a warm hug from her sister. "You are alive!"

"YOU are alive!" she hugged tighter.

Anna then opened her eyes seeing her mother just smiling gently towards them, she couldn't misplace that look, it was really her.

"Momma!" she launched to her arms and the three hugged for precious instants before the Queen let go keeping the image of her brave and strong daughters in her mind forever.

"You grew up to be just what we always thought you would be and more" she said proudly "If only your father could see you" tears slide down her chin and both girls cuddle into her.

"I am sure he is smiling, wherever he is" mumbled Anna

The Queen wished the moment would last forever, but the blizzard stroke between them turning the storm worst expanding over the gray skies and icy mountains.

"Wait, why isn't the snow melting?" asked Anna gazing around. "Love thaws, why isn't it working?"

"Because I cursed the land, and now I am going to free it…from myself" she smiled sadly hugging them tight just to feel the warmth and love one last time and without a word she stabbed the ice spike into her heart.

"No!" both cried, but the Queen was already transforming, not into the Snow Queen, but into snowflakes that were blew with the wind and beyond, taking all the cold, the blizzard and the snow with her. Now she was finally free to be who she really was; the winter. The last thing they heard was a weak 'I love you' flowing with the wind.

It had hurt worst than the first time they had lost their parents, because if only for minutes, they both had her mother back and now she was again gone.

The blue skies appeared, the birds started to sing and the grass to grow. There was not a trace left of what had happened there. When the heroes waked, they only found the two sisters together and knew it was finally all over.

Anna didn't let go of the embrace and held her tight next to her, crying in her shoulder; it was the end of it all. The end of the searching, fearing, loneliness; she finally had her sister back and the beginning of a new family with Kristoff and the baby. It was everything she ever wished for.

Elsa felt the same way about to finally stop running away, and making peaces with her mother and herslef... but after all she had been thru in just mere hours, she felt the tiredness building up with an overwhelming mixture of found emotions that had caught up to her. So finally she got the rest she had craved for so long and faint into sleep in the reassurance of her sister's arms…

Author's Note: Sorry if I upset someone, but since I started writing this fic I knew how I wanted the story to go and this was the curse of action and...I have been thinking about this idea since september of last year and is funny to think that I am like two chapters more to go to finally finish. So I guess I am trying to say thank you to all of you for keeping up with this and for even reading this personal notes; makes me feel you care not only about the subject but about the writer, in which this case is me. So...yeah, thank you, I wish I had better words to express myself on this, but that's how I feel, plainly gratefull.
