I pushed carelessly through the field of ghost, as I strolled to our tree to meet Hazel. After the whole 'Hey you know those gods that you read about in History class? Weeeeelllll one of them happens to be by dad' revelation me and Hazel had talked for hours. With her telling me everything about her life, about Sammy, her school and her powers. Though she never told be how she died, that was an unspoken rule between us.

It was all so fascinating now that I could accept the fact it was real, but I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that it should be Hades not Pulto, Greek instead of Roman. I even asked Hazel but she just said that the Greek Gods didn't exist only Roman. I found that hard to believe, but I held my tongue.

I was so caught up in my thoughts I didn't notice that the amount of ghosts I had to walk through was thinning, that the constant sound of their groans had stopped.

But when I finally snapped out of my thoughts, I saw that there was someone else with Hazel under our tree. A man. He was so tall he towered over poor Hazel, he was a pale almost blue colour and I couldn't stop comparing him to cold milk. The man wore a black tunic and toga and I swore that I saw faces moving in the fabrics, faces screaming in agony. There was red strip lining the edge of his toga that rippled like blood. His hair was dark, so very dark, for a stupid moment I imagined it to be blue flames. The man looked intimidating but Hazel looked torn between shouting in anger, crying, or hugging the man. SO because Hazel was there I carefully approached, she hadn't seen me when he turned to face me and I saw his eyes I froze in fear, they where full of fire, anger and full of mad power.

But then he held his hand out to Hazel, and Hazel the girl I was so close to I considered her my sister, the only one who could see be and break be from my moods took his hand. It was then I knew what was going to happen, I don't know how I knew, but if I didn't do something soon I was going to lose my only friend in this hell.

"HAZEEEELLL!" The name ripped from my throat without my knowledge and before I knew it I was pelting towards my friend and the freaking milkman. Hazel turned to me in shock, smiled, turned back to the man and then disappeared. My outstretched hand swiped at thin air.

Alone.I was alone again. .NO! How could she do this to me! Why! What did I do? I'll apologise for always walking through her. Or all the pranks. Or or or teasing her and laughing...just please please come back Hazel. Don't leave me,please. DOn't leave me all alone.I don't know how long I sat there crumpled underneath that tree, tears streaming out of my unseeing eyes as I stared at the spot Hazel used to be. Where she should be.

It was there that the Furies found me.
