Old Friends, New Places
It's been awhile! I've been reading some awesome fanfics that are inspiring me to keep writing! I also wanna thank Toadettegirl2012 who continues to inspire me to write!
Also, special thanks to ASD Pokemon Fan for showing me people still like this story. Your message meant a lot. :3
As for the story itself, I literally hated Ash's team in Unova. Therefore I am going to redo most of it, but with some returning as well.
Don't forget to Review! It makes us authors feel like we're doing a good job, plus it only takes like thirty seconds! ;D
Disclaimer: If I own Pokemon, then I have a Mega Sceptile on Pokemon Black 2.
Chapter 8: Where He Always Goes
"Boy, Ash sure takes his sweet time..." Chris mumbled. He was across the street from the Pokemon center. He sat on a bench as he waited for Ash to awake. He hadn't been there long, but it was long enough. For him anyway.
"Come on, guys!" He heard Ash yell as he exited the Pokemon Center with Brock, Dawn, and Iris following him. "How can my Pokemon get stronger if we sit here all day?!"
"It's nine in the morning..." Iris grumbled with a sweatdrop.
"Not everyone is in such a rush to wake up." Dawn pouted.
"Do you even know where we're going?" Brock asked as he pulled out his map.
"Not a clue!" Ash cheered with a large smile causing everyone to sigh.
"You should probably get your second badge." A familiar blonde spoke as he approached them.
"Hey, Chris!" The group said in unison. He waved back with a grin.
"Wait, how did you know Ash got a badge?" Dawn asked.
"Well uh, he seemed so strong. So I figured he already got it, that's all." He replied nervously.
"Weren't you also going to Castelia City?" Iris asked.
"I- uhh, rested for the night." He answered confidently.
"But I'm pretty sure we split up at noon yesterday. You should've had plenty of time." Brock stated.
"Well I was pretty tired. Anyways, aren't you going to fight Lenora?"
"Who?" Ash asked curiously.
"This city's gym leader." He replied with a grin.
"I should probably do some training!" Ash yelled as he pumped his fist.
"Care to battle?" Chris asked.
"Of course!" Ash yelled back.
"I'll be referee." Brock stated.
"I'll go to cheer Ash on!" Dawn and Iris cheered in unison.
"Then let's go!"
They arrived at the same field that Ash battled Chili and Cress. Ash and Chris both took their sides of the field and Dawn and Iris say on the sidelines. Brock stood in the referee position.
"The battle between Ash and Chris will now begin. The winner will be decided when the other trainer's Pokemon is unable to battle. Each trainer may use three Pokemon! Begin!" Brock called out.
"Don't feel bad if I crush you." Chris said arrogantly. "Nidorino!" He yelled as he threw his Pokeball into the air. It burst open and the flash of light revealed a blue Nidorino.
"Woah, isn't Nidorino supposed to be purple?!" Ash yelled out excitedly. Chris nodded with a grin.
"Well that doesn't matter, Gible, I choose you!" Ash also released a Pokeball that summoned his Gible.
The two Pokemon glared at one another.
"Okay, Gible, use Dig!" Gible began digging down.
"Nidorino, Focus Energy!" Nidorino began glowing red and charging its power.
"Now, Gible!" Gible fired out of the ground at fast speeds.
"Nidorino, Double Kick." Nidorino moved to the side fluidly, avoiding his attack, then threw its hind legs into Gible's back. It flew toward Chris's side of the field.
"You okay, Gible?!" Ash shouted. Gible stood up and roared at the Nidorino. "Alright, use Draco Meteor!" Gible's mouth began glowing white.
"Nidorino, Peck!" Chris commanded.
Nidorino charged forward with its horn glowing white. Gible aimed its face toward Nidorino and opened its mouth wide.
"Now, dodge." Chris said calmly. Nidorino quickly maneuvered to the side of Gible. The Draco Meteor flew past him. He quickly charged into Gible and threw him into the air.
"Poison Sting!" Nidorino fired tiny, purple quills into the air at Gible.
"Gible, dodge!" Ash yelled desperately. Gible tried to move, but it was pointless midair. The Poison Sting hit him. He began falling.
"Double Kick before he hits the ground!" Chris yelled, eyes glowing.
"Chris, you're going too far!" Dawn shouted angrily from the sidelines. Chris didn't hear her statement, let alone the anger in her voice. Nidorino stopped below Gible, turned around, and threw both feet into its stomach.
"Gib gible!" It cried in pain as it went into the sky. Ash cringed at the sight of his injured Pokemon. Gible crashed into the ground, unconscious.
"Thank you, Gible. You did your best." Ash said as he returned the Land Shark to its Pokeball and put it on his belt. He reached for another Pokeball and tossed it into the air. "Pidove, I choose you." Pidove cried as it floated above the field.
"Come on, Ash. Is this all you've got?" Chris asked arrogantly. Ash seemed to grow angrier at the comment.
"Don't worry, we're just getting started!" The raven haired trainer replied confidently. "Alright, Pidove, use Aerial Ace!"
The Tiny Pigeon's wings glowed white as it took off into the sky.
"Get ready, Nidorino!" The blonde haired trainer yelled. The Poison Pin Pokemon glared its eyes toward the Pidove. Pidove came soaring down, aiming for Nidorino.
"Double Kick to counter it." Chris said nervously. Ash's eye glistened.
"Okay, change to Gust, Pidove!" Ash commanded quickly. Pidove flapped its wings rapidly and threw the Nidorino across the field. "Now Aerial Ace while it's down!" Ash cheered. Pidove charged at the fallen Pokemon. The two collided, revealing a fainted Nidorino.
"Alright!" Ash cheered as he threw his fist into the air excitedly.
"Yeah, yeah. Good job, Nidorino!" Chris yelled disappointedly as he returned the shiny Pokemon to its Pokeball. "So you're as good as they say..." He mumbled quietly.
"Did you say something?" Ash asked curiously. Chris jumped slightly.
"Nothing..." He reached for another Pokeball and threw it into the air. "Go, Beldum!" The flash revealed the Iron Ball Pokemon.
"Alright, Beldum. Iron Defense!" Said Chris with a smirk. Brock raised an eyebrow at his command. He'd only ever heard of Beldum having Take Down.
Beldum surrounded itself in a metal-like gray aura. It shined and disappeared quickly.
"Doesn't matter, Pidove, Aerial Ace!" Ash yelled. The Tiny Pigeon charged its wings into Beldum. The Iron Ball Pokemon barely moved an inch. A smirk grew across Chris's face.
"Go, Take Down!" He commanded. Beldum slammed its body into Pidove's stomach and threw it toward Ash.
"Oh no, Pidove, you okay?!" Ash called out worriedly. The pigeon stood up, cried in anger, and took off into the sky. Its body glowed white and came soaring down and slammed into Beldum. Beldum remained unscratched. "Pidove, Gust!"
"Take Down." Chris said calmly.
Beldum moved quickly towards Pidove. The Tiny Pigeon flapped its wings quickly, but something different happened. Blade-like air currents flew from its wings and slammed into Beldum, causing it to crash into the ground.
"Alright, Pidove! Nice move!" Ash said as he checked his Pokedex quickly. "Air Cutter, huh..?"
'That did too much damage' Chris thought. "Take Down again, Beldum!"
"Air Cutter!" Ash yelled excitedly. Pidove flapped its wings and threw the blade-like air currents at the Beldum, throwing it to the ground.
"Damn him." Chris started. "Go, use Zen Headbutt!"
Beldum gained a purple aura over its body and charged into Pidove, throwing it to the ground.
"Pidove, just a little more, use Gust!" Ash yelled with a grin.
A blast of air pushed the Beldum into the ground, throwing smoke everywhere. After a moment, it cleared revealing a fainted Beldum.
"Yeah, way to go Pidove!" Ash cheered. Chris returned his fallen Pokemon to its Pokeball. He reached for another and threw it into the air.
"Go, Riolu!" The ball released revealing the Emanation Pokemon. It growled at the Pidove and punched the ground, demonstrating its power.
"Guess I'll go first!" Ash cheered. "Aerial Ace!"
"Bullet Punch." Chris commanded coolly. Riolu leapt at Pidove and punched it, sending it flying. It caught itself midair, and continued its strike.
"High Jump Kick." Riolu jumped and slammed its foot into the tiny pigeon. Pidove crashed down into the ground. It slowly stood up and began glowing white.
"Woah..." Ash mumbled as he witnessed the incredible sight. "It- is it really?"
It grew larger within the white silhouette. The light quickly disappeared, revealing a larger bird Pokemon.
Ash quickly drew his Pokedex and pointed it toward his newly evolved Pokemon.
"Tranquill. The Wild Pigeon Pokemon. No matter where in the world it goes, it knows where its nest is, so it never gets separated from its trainer." The Pokedex stated.
Ash pocketed the Pokedex and grinned.
"Alright, Tranquill." Ash said calmly. "Let's do this!"
Chris felt sweat forming on his forehead. He was actually nervous about losing. He shook his head and focused on the fight.
"Riolu, Force Palm!" Riolu dashed forward at the newly evolved Tranquill and trusted its palm out.
The Wild Pigeon fell to the side, tactically dodging the attack.
"Now, Tranquill. Use Air Cutter!" Ash called out. Slashes of air flew from Tranquill's wings and hit Riolu. Riolu rolled along the ground and remained there.
"Come on, Riolu. Get up!" Chris cried out. Riolu stood up slowly, but quickly fell to the ground.
"Yeah! We did it!" Ash cheered. Dawn and Iris cheered along too. Chris slowly walked over and returned Riolu to its Pokeball.
Everyone rushed over to the two trainers excitedly.
"You've gotten stronger, Ash." I'll be sure to challenge you again when you're stronger." He said stubbornly, but with a smile.
"You bet!" Ash remarked cheerfully as he reached his hand out. Chris took it and they shook hands.
"I'll be going now. Good luck, Ash." He said with a smirk. "Bye everyone. It was nice seeing you all again." He said calmly. Then he turned around and made his way to Castelia City.
Chris had been walking for hours when he finally reached Skyarrow Bridge. There was a black car waiting for him when he arrived. He got in quickly and closed the door. The inside of the car was incredibly dark. Practically pitch-black. Even the windows blocked all visibility beyond them.
"So. What have you learned?" A man's voice asked.
"Well he's as strong as they say, no doubt about that."
"Did you get to fight his Pikachu?"
"Sadly, no. But I'm hoping to soon."
"I've been informed they don't know who you are yet. That's good." The voice said.
"Well I don't exactly plan to tell them." Chris said as he rolled his eyes.
"You almost blew it in Pinwheel Forest. Please be careful from now on. This entire operation could get ugly if your cover is blown."
"I'm sorry. I'll be more careful from now on."
"Good." The man said with a laugh. "Now get out."
"Fine. I'll keep you updated if anything comes up." Chris said seriously.
"Not necessary. I have plenty of Team Plasma members patrolling the region."
"I still don't want to be a part of this, you know." Chris said as he looked down.
"I realize that. But you signed up. And there's no getting out once you've joined Team Plasma." He replied with a laugh.
"I'll make you all pay for this."
"Get out of my car. Or I'll have you killed." He said angrily. Chris got out and the door slammed behind him.
He turned around and watched the car speed away.
Chris turned around and looked to the direction of Nacrene City.
"Good luck, Ash." He whispered. "You're gonna need it." He ran toward Skyarrow Bridge, as the sun continued rising, revealing his tears…
Well, it's been forever. But I've been feeling inspired. Here's the newest chapter! I hope you all enjoy it!
