The day of Will's graduation finally arrived. He felt a little uneasy at the thought of doing his speech in front of everyone, but he knew that he only had to look to the right side of the gymnasium, fourth row eighth seat to see Lizzie. He smiled just thinking of her. In fact he could almost hear her voice.
Will spun around to see Lizzie running up to him. The graduation was to start in ten minutes and he was lined up with the rest of his class.
"Lizzie, what are you doing back here? The ceremony is about to start."
"You didn't think I would forget our bet now did you?"
Will frowned trying to remember any bet that they had made. It suddenly came back- the chess game and the IOU.
"I don't think now is the time or the place."
"Don't worry, they won't withhold your diploma for this." She handed him a shirt which he unfolded.
"You have to wear this throughout graduation and pictures." She said with a cheeky grin.
"You won't even be able to see this during the graduation."
"I think you love me too much to disappoint your girlfriend."
The word made his chest tighten. He wasn't upset, only whipped. He loved hearing her say that, and he loved that she was with him.
She gave him a kiss before running back in the direction she had came in.
The speech went well. He was able to get through the whole thing without stumbling over his words which he thought he might.
His eyes would scan over his class. This would be the last time he would probably see most of them. He saw Charles who was smiling at him and would give him a thumbs up, he saw Richard who sat next to his sister and Denny. Denny?
Will had to refocus his attention back on his notes.
The next time he was able to look up, he saw his aunt, who was stoic as ever. Lastly he looked over at Jane who sent him a smile as well, and then his dearest Lizzie who had her head on her sister's shoulder and was fast asleep.
Will had to cover up his laugh by clearing his throat before he continued and finished his speech.
The rest of the ceremony was uneventful until they finally started calling names. He saw Charles go up and saw that he had blown a kiss to Jane.
When his row was called to get in line Will tried to think of a way he too could do a small shout out to Lizzie. Everyone else seemed to have been waving or doing some form of gesture to love ones.
He then remembered his shirt that he had slipped over his dress shirt just before the ceremony. As his name was called and he was walking up to receive his diploma, he unzipped his gown. He took his diploma and then turned and opened his gown to show off his shirt.
A roar of laughter and cheers sounded and he saw Lizzie stand and shout his name.
After all the graduates had filtered out of the gym and were in the reception area was Will approached by some of his peers along with Charles.
"Wow, Darcy, showing off apparel at graduation. Didn't know you were crazy like that." Said one boy with a broad smile.
"I didn't even know you were dating, and she's from the hood. Dude, you are wild."
"More like he has hood love."
Charles ended the conversation, "If you excuse me, my friend and I have to find our girls. You see, if he has hood love, and I'm dating the girl's sister, then I also have hood love."
The boys walked off and soon were joined by Jane, Lizzie, Richard, Georgiana and Denny.
Will couldn't stop looking at Denny who had his arm around Georgiana's shoulder. His attention was pulled away by Charles dragging him into a picture with himself and the girls.
Will looked down and saw that the jacket Lizzie had been wearing throughout the ceremony was gone and that she was wearing a shirt that matched his own.
"What's this, why weren't we invited to participate in this?" asked Charles.
"Because Will lost that game of chess and I decided that he should wear this shirt that I made him." Said Lizzie with a grin up at Will.
"Yeah but I think your shirt kind of defeats the whole IOU."
"Hey guys," called Richard with the camera, "look over here and stop gazing into each other's for a second so I can take this picture."
"Never!" said the couples and they all began to laugh.
Georgiana took the camera from her cousin and took the pictures herself.
Jane and Charles were in a middle of a kiss while Lizzie and Will pointed at their t-shirts; his read: I'm have hood love, and hers read: hood.
Everything was perfect at that moment.
"So, what's going to happen now that the guys are both heading off to college?" asked Denny.
"Alright, why are you even here?" demanded Will.
"Me and Denny are dating." Beamed Georgiana.
"What!?"
"It's a long story."
A/N: The end L I hope you all enjoyed the story and can even request more information as to what was left out and what scenes were given as much detail in. I can show the side story of Georgiana and Denny who I always thought deserved a little happiness and was a cool character. I can try to do different IOU scenarios if you would like too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Good bye 2014, I'll miss you, and I'll miss all of you guys and your awesome comments!
