To the people in the backseat, the car ride finally ended releasing any left over tension from attempts to talk to one another. They parked about a block from their actual destination since there wasn't much parking closer that didn't cost you an arm and a leg.

Lizzie walked a few paces behind Charles and Jane. For being friends, Lizzie thought they were pretty close if they were already holding hands.

After a while she made up the rear end of the party since even Will was walking faster now. Sometimes he would stop and wait for her to catch up, but after the fifth time he looked a little irritated, "Look, if you don't want to get left behind and lost then you'll have to walk faster."

Excuse me?! What did he think she was a little kid with their parents in the store. Lizzie could think of a few smart comments to make about him, but with a sigh she decided to grind on his nerves instead. So what if he left her behind. She knew where she was.

"If it's bothering you so much then go on ahead." What did he think she couldn't take care of herself.

His frown only increased and he waited for her before starting up again. Lizzie was secretly praying that he wouldn't, but praying for things to happen never seem to work, for at least this case.

They walked in silence which she was thankful for. For some reason she could never seem to enjoy herself around him. Which was very unusual. Normally she'd work her charm and then they'd be cracking jokes till they were kicked out of every building, but for some reason this 'stiff' as she would refer to him as, didn't seem to want to cheer up or talk, making it hard for to exude any of her charms.

When they finally reached the entrance, Jane and Charles were no where to be seen.

Lizzie knew that if her sister wasn't waiting for her then she obviously felt comfortable by herself now.

Wish you could've said that earlier, sis.

Glancing at the boy beside her she realized that he was about to pay for the both of them.

"What are you doing?"

"Getting our tickets."

"I can very well by my own ticket, thank you."

It hurt spending so much, but she wouldn't show it in front of Will.

Instead she grabbed her ticket and went in with her head slightly raised, but inside she was screaming.

There goes my allowance I'd been saving.

Once inside the gates the real problem began of trying to find seats. To her great displeasure Will had found two next to each other. She considered saying no, but they were pretty good seats and it wouldn't do to lose her entire party seeing as she didn't have a phone.

Plopping down next to another man she waited for it to begin.

As the music progressed, the man beside her started to nod off. Lizzie would've been thankful if he would've just snored, but the man seemed to grow ever so close to her as his head began to lean over till his head was touching her shoulder.

She flinched and when she did, she accidentally nudged Will's arm.

Will looked over and saw the man on the girl's shoulder. Lizzie thought at first he was going to dismiss it, but instead he wrapped his arm around her and put his hand on her shoulder, slipping his hand between her bare skin and the man's head.

The man sat up and looked a little confused.

Lizzie couldn't tell if she saw Will glaring at the other man or not, but whatever it was, she decided not to think over it. The guy was still on her hate list.

The music finally ended with no more accidents. Will eventually removed his hand and Lizzie could relax again.

After a few attempts to try and meet up with the other couple, they decided to eat. Lizzie's stomach had growled a little loud which made up their minds for them.

Since Will wasn't all too familiar with the city as Lizzie was, it was left up to her to choose.

Feeling a little hungry for some pizza she suggested Giordanos. Which was famous for their deep dish.

"Okay sure we can go there. Where's it at exactly?"

Of course he wouldn't know which would leave them to her not so good directional skills.

Lizzie would always go on walks, but never took the time to actually study the street names that got her to those places. Instead she relied on familiar buildings.

"I think it's over there on the next block." Load of crap, yes. Was she going to admit to it, no.

They didn't talk for the first ten minutes till after making a circle around the block made Will suspicious.

"Are we really headed to Giordanos or are you trying to find a quiet place to kill me?"

Lizzie's first reaction was to laugh, but the expression on his face made it actually look like he was being serious. Then she saw him smirk which made her frown a bit.

"You have a weird sense of humor, but I will accept your compliment in thinking that I could actually kill you. It's not everyday a guy will admit could be killed by a small girl."

It was her turn to smile and Will closed his mouth until they finally reached their destination.

"Remind me never to get lost in a forest with you."

And the tension died away and they were able to spend their dinner in heated arguments about music taste, historical events, movie and book plots.

Lizzie found herself actually liking Will a little better and completely forgot why she didn't like him in the beginning. The only thing she could recall was how good looking he was which resulted in a blush.

Fortunately Will was too busy paying for their meal that he didn't notice.

This is bad. I can't be in one of those relationships that are one sided. It will only end with me getting my heart broken.

So instead of liking him, Lizzie was prepared to befriend him. This way if they did continue to meet through Jane and Charles, she knew exactly where their relationship stood and that it was safe.

After Will received his credit card back, they walked out of the restaurant and made their way back to the car in comfortable silence. Lizzie was in her own world going over their discussions again. Stealing a glance at Will, she saw that his face went back to resting behind an emotionless mask. Lizzie wanted to laugh. It was like his person bitchface.

Once they had at last reached the car she decided that they should say something since the others weren't back yet.

"I wonder where the others are."

"Yeah." What the hell kind of answer was that?

"Maybe some Orcs took them to Isengard." she tried to joke.

This time he didn't even bother to make a response.

Did she miss something? They just had a great time at dinner and talking about ridiculous things with so much energy. Was he just tired?"

"Exhausted."

"Mmyeah."

Lizzie studied him for a bit. It wasn't exactly that he was tired, but looked like he went back into his old self.

If he didn't want to talk then two could play at that game.

The sun had gone down but the tension had only risen as the time passed before the other couple finally arrived with their apologies.

Lizzie wasn't really in the mood to hear them, but she forced a smile so that her sister wouldn't notice that anything was off.

Will may have the mask that can put people off, but Lizzie had her own. She could fake happiness to where it was believable.

Until she was safe and back in the house she was determined on not saying anything. The Hobbit had lost its appeal after talking about it for hours with Will. Her only escape was to listen to music which now all seemed to be sappy love songs. After the fifth song which was Love Story by Taylor Swift, Lizzie turned off her music and just satisfied herself by staring out the window with her sister and Charles as background noise.

Jane lingered behind to say goodbye while Lizzie left with a rushed 'see ya Charles' and was soon inside and upstairs to her room.

A knock came after five minutes and Jane poked her head in the door.

"Lizzie, you busy?"

Lizzie looked over her shoulder. She had discarded her dress and was now wearing her comfortable sweats with her hair in a sloppy bun.

"Nope, just typing up a paper due on Monday."

"Wow! Look at you being all early for once." Jane sat down on Lizzie's bed and watched her work.

So far Lizzie had accomplished typing her name, teacher's name, class, and date.

"You're almost done already." Jane laughed sarcastically.

Lizzie returned her laugh with a wide-eyed glare that made her stop laughing, "It's all your fault I'm starting this now."

"Whatcha talkin about? You usually procrastinate all your papers."

"I know!" Lizzie said with a little more volume than she had expected, "The only reason I'm doing this now is because I can't get that jerk out of my head."

"Who, Will?"

"Yes." Lizzie slouched in her chair almost falling out.

Jane was grinning now and brought her legs up to her chest, "Do you like him?"

"What? No!" She said it so fast she understood why her sister looked doubtful. "No. The only reason I'm even thinking about him is because he confuses me."

"Confuses you?"

"Yeah like for example we were talking for hours about movies and what not and then a half an hour later he can barely form a word. Claiming he's tired."

"Maybe you exhausted the poor boy. You tend to do that to guys."

"Not even. He just went back to being as cold as he was at the museum. It's like he has two personalities."

"That's kinda cool. Bad I mean for you, but I always wanted to meet a person with multiple personalities."

"Keep your psychology-loving enthusiasm locked up for a bit and try understanding how disappointing it was for me."

"Sorry."

Lizzie gave a groan into her hands before she caught a glimpse of her sister rocking back and forth on her bed.

"Okay, you obviously don't care about me that much so go ahead and tell me about the date."

"I do care about you."

"It's fine. We can worry about me later."

Needing no more encouragement, Jane set off on a detailed description about her time with Charles.

"Oh the walk by the harbor was fun. We walked to Navy Pier and did some games and went on the Ferris Wheel. We-"

"Hold on! You mean to tell me that you walked all the way to Navy Pier and didn't even bother to think of your sister who might want to go."

"Sorry." Jane said sheepishly.

"You have no shame." Lizzie shook her head.

"I knew Will would take care of you so I knew you wouldn't be bored."

"Yeah" Lizzie deadpanned, "If we weren't arguing it was usually silent."

"You mean you didn't have any fun?"

"We did when we were talking at Gio's, but before and afterwards was just two people who hated each other forced to spend time with one another."

"Must've been the pizza."

"Whatever. So what did you guys end up eating?"

"Seafood."

Lizzie got up and grabbed her sister off the bed, dragging her to the door.

"That's it get out."

"Oh come on, Lizzie!"

"Seafood, seriously, Jane! You're the worst!"

A/N: Done with new Chappie! A turn for the worst, not better, no for the worst.

Okay I don't really understand why Lizzie is complaining. I have yet to be on a date

T-T Okay so maybe her plans for becoming friends with Darcy have come upon a little set back, but hey, turning a crush into a friend isn't as easy as just making friends with other guys am I right? Anyway, holla at me and tell me what your feels are.

Shout out to Seelieprincess for making me happy, thanks a lot! See yall in the next chapter.
