A/N: I wrote this a while back for this story, but some how over half the chapter got deleted. So i tried to fix it the best i could. Hope you all enjoy! This is part one. There will be another update which is part 2 of this later this week.

April sat in Donatello's lab and watched him work with the retro mutagen, he had been trying to make more for months. But was not as close as he had been, he had not taken any notes from his previous work and now had to do this all from memory.

Donnie could feel her watching him, he looked over and saw her studying him when she noticed he didn't miss her looking away.

Frowning he went back to his work.

April got up and walked out to the living room and saw Raph sitting there, he spoke up before shutting off the TV off and turned in her direction.

"I am curious about somethin?"

She frowned and joined him on the couch and asked.

"Oh really? And what's that?"

Raph looked into her eyes as he asked.

"Are you leading my brother on? Do you see him as anything more then a friend? Or brother?"

April didn't know what to think but she said.

"Raph I would never lead him on..."

Raph frowned deeper and said.

"Really? Is that why you kissed him last summer out at the farm house? Is that why you have been avoiding him for some time? And why you never make eye contact with him? I am not as dense as most put me as. I can see through the looks that you care something for him, I just can't tell what. But one things for sure I don't like the way you bounce back and forth between him and Casey."

April let his words sink in and she looked off to the side of the room, she felt so torn, looking back at Raph she said.

"If I tell you something Raph can it stay between us?"

He looked around and noticed no one was with in ear shot and said.

"Depends on what it is."

April looked down at her hands folded in her lap and said.

"Its about Donnie and Casey..."

This caught Raph's attention, after a moment he said.

"Yes, it will stay between us."

April told him softly.

"I have never really had friends growing up Raph... I have always been a loner... so when I have both of them fighting over me I... I don't know I can't explain how it makes me feel... special I guess? I don't mean to make them fight but in some ways I like it. At least I know how they feel about me on some level. There's times their fighting gets on my nerves but other times it makes me feel special. I have only had my dad in my life and now I have the four of you, Master Splinter, and Casey."

Raph thought about what she said and told her.

"April, its not fair to them, they think you like them both in a romantic way. You are hurting them more then anything. The six of us are a team, before the invasion those two would slow down our missions trying to protect you. I whacked Casey more then I do Mikey for slowing us down, he cares about you as much as Donnie does, but its not really fair to them."

April looked down at her hands again and said.

"Then what should I do? I don't want them to fight all the time."

Raph shifted in his seat and said.

"Talk to Sensei. He knows more then any one what confrontation between brothers is like, he has been there. Him and Shredder were as close as brothers at one point in time before Shen came into their lives. And that was when fighting started happening and it destroyed them... now Splinter lives in regret and shame. He told me so a while back when he told me how he had lost his temper right before the fire..."

Raph stopped when he felt that they were no longer alone, he looked over and saw Splinter standing there.

"April, Raphael is correct, I at one time felt regret for the events that took place before the fire. And he is also right that you should talk to me. Come we must speak about this privately."

April looked once more at Raph before following Splinter to his room and shut the door.

After taking their seats Splinter cleared his throat and said.

"April, I heard most of what was said, you are enjoying the two fighting over you? Is that what I am leading to understand?"

April knew when it was put that way it sounded horrible, she looked down at the rug she sat on and then back up to Splinter and said softly.

"How much of that did you hear Sensei?"

Splinter gave her a serious look and said sternly.

"Enough."

She nodded and knew he wasn't in the mood for chit chat.

"Master Splinter, you have to understand I am not leading Donnie on. I promise..."

Splinter was much taller then April and even though they were both sitting down, she felt smaller then normal sitting infront of the large mutant rat.

"April, you said you liked the boys fighting over you? That is not a wise thing to do, it is also not fair to either of them. Breaking Donatello's heart is not going to be an option in my home, and neither is breaking Casey's. There will be no leading any one on or enjoying watching the two fight for you. Now you have a choice: either choose my son or choose Casey."

She knew he left out 'or neither of them' for a reason, she cared a lot for Donnie, she really liked him and could relate to him more then Casey. Splinter could see that in her eyes, he could see that she struggles with the two boys.

"April, what do you like about my son?"

April met his eyes and said softly. "Well Sensei, I like his eyes, his smile, he can be so charming... and funny... he is so smart... smarter then any one I have ever known in my life. Oh and we both love math! That is something we have so much in common on..."

"Now Casey my child, what do you see in him?" He interrupted her because she started rambling, he knew who her heart belonged to, it was up to her to choose.

April paused for a moment and then said.

"Well, he is fun to go to the movies with. Going to the park at night is fun. We talk but not about many things that interest me. He can drive me crazy with his humungous ego he has. He pushes my buttons..."

Splinter put a hand on her shoulder to stop her.

"April, I said things you like about him. Are these things you like? Or things you find wrong?"

When she did not answer he told her. "I will be talking to my son as well April."

April thought about what the ninja master was asking and knew she had a choice to make, she couldn't keep doing this to her friends. Granted she loved them both, but who did her heart really belong to?

After a while April left to go home, Splinter was meditating, Raphael stood in the door way to the dojo and watched his father for a moment before going in; kneeling before his father he waited for him to detect his presence. After a few moments Splinter opened one eye and saw his second eldest son sitting patiently before him.

"Is there something I can do for you my son?"

Raph swallowed hard and then said.

"I, I'm worried about Donnie... He has always since day one been chasing April... I have tried talking to him but he doesn't seem to listen or care... I don't want him to get hurt... I keep reminding him he is a mutant turtle and she is a human girl, I keep telling him it would never work out... and I have told him several times that she deserves a normal life. Because our life is not normal... I am thinking of both of them Sensei..."

Splinter smiled at his son and told him.

"I understand Raphael, and you are right about our life down here, and I agree with you to some degree. But should April choose Donatello over Casey then she has chosen our life. Just because she would rather be with your brother does not mean she can no longer have a normal life. She can still go to the surface, and so can he. There are ways for them to carry on a relationship my son, I know you care for them."

Raph felt better but also felt frustrated, looking into his father's eyes he asked.

"What about Casey?"

Splinter let out a sigh and told his son.

"I do not think Casey is right for her either, I think of April as my daughter, and I want to protect her from boys... Casey would be the type of boy I would want her to not date. But she is not my daughter so it is her choice of who she wants to be with."

Raph couldn't argue with that, he knew his father was right.

"Would you still talk to him?"

Splinter put a hand on his son's shoulder and said gently.

"Yes my son, I will speak to him."

Raphael's green eyes shined with gratitude that his father was going to talk to his younger brother, he was worried and that was not normal for him. Worrying about his brothers was Leo's department. He just hoped that his younger brother would listen...
