Goodness me, I think I am done with life! Except the part for writing fanfictions.

So many things to do, which made me forget to take stuff home and end up doing it last minute, ugh.

Anyway, thank you to all readers!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything about Fairy Tail, except my OC's.

Chapter 19

Lia asks, "What is it? Other mages didn't buy the key because they were skeptical and the shopkeeper wanted to get rid of it so he gave it to me for free."

"Guys, if I'm not mistaken..." I pause and they look at me eagerly. "This is possibly; it could be the legendary 14th Gold Key of the Celestial Spirit World!" They gasp.

"There's such thing? I thought there were only 13, which Yukino have." Charle says.

I shrug, "Yeah, this one is an old myth and is rarely spoken of because there seems to be only one story of it, but this one could be a phony too, or the shopkeeper wouldn't have given to Lia for free." We nod in agreement.

"Umm, I was wondering if I could borrow your shower for a minute?" Lia asks, looking a little uncomfortable.

"Sure, sure this way." I show her where the bath is and give her a towel. She thanks me and closes the door.

We prepare tea and wait for Lia to join us. Then we ask whether she is an independent mage, since we didn't see any guild mark on her.

"Well, in a way, kind of, but I haven't fully developed my magic yet." She answers.

"Who were those guys that we beat up?" Gray asks, curious.

"Old rivals." She replies curtly.

She told us her story of how from living with her dad to how the house was taken and to her finding refuge in different places, became a thief to survive. She also told us how she was practicing magic and taught herself how to fight and about the guys in the alley. She shrugs at the end.

"Those bastards, if I see them again I will beat the crap out of them." Natsu says with clenched fist. I agree; they're such bullies.

She asks us about the same symbol we have on our body. We tell her it was the insignia of Fairy Tail: to show which guild the mage belongs to. We describe to her there are many different guilds with specific mark, including independent guilds and dark guilds and described how Fairy Tail is and what we do as mages. We also tell her about other guilds in Fiore such as Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, Mermaid Heels, Sabertooth, etcetera and some dark guilds like Oración Seis and Grimoire Heart that we eliminated years ago.

She turns to me and asks what I'm going to do with the key. "I can have it?" I asks, surprised. 'She's giving me the gold key that is potentially the legendary 14th key for free? Free of charge? I think I'm about to cry from happiness.'

"Well yeah, it's useless to me."

"Oh, I don't know what to say... Thank you!" I smile at her, trying to keep my cool, but inside, I feel like my stomach is going to come out and I want to jump up and down and shake everybody.

"Lucy, you have to try it out!" Natsu is excited and drags me out of my own apartment. We run to the guild, his hands clutched around my wrist. I turn around and see the rest of them running after us, including Lia. I smile to myself; it already feels like she's one of us. 'Damn, she hasn't joined our guild yet. What the hell am I talking about?' I shake my head and focus on where my feet are so as I don't trip over.

We arrive at the guild and Natsu yells, "We need information!" startling everyone in the guild.

"Natsu! Don't yell like that!" I scold him and scan the place looking for a specific person, ahh yes. "Levy-chan! Can you help us?" I ask politely.

"Lu-chan! Of course, what do you need?" Levy responds happily.

I show her the key. Mirajane gasps and drops the tray she's carrying. "What? What's happening?" People are asking each other.

"Woah! Is that what I think it is?" Macao and Wakaba come over to inspect the key.

"Lu-chan, come over here. I will look it up on a book." Levy calls me over. We gather around Levy, who is sitting at the table wearing the Gale-Force Reading Glasses, reading the pages at a faster speed than normal. The rest of the group came, and Lia climbs onto the table in a cat form.

Levy is muttering to herself when Natsu's patience runs out. He's standing next to me and says in exasperation, "Levy! Have you found anything yet?"

"Shut up Natsu. Let her concentrate." I tell him off. Natsu rakes his hair and making it look messier.

"I think it is the mythical 14th Golden Key, so that means it should be a powerful one." Lia says.

The room goes quiet. Happy says "You just spoke out loud." like it was the most obvious thing.

"I DID?!" She shouts out in surprise, and realized that she spoke out loud again and covers her mouth.

"Oh yes that's what I thought too, but at the same time it's impossible. It could be a fake key." I say, referring back to the key.

"Yes it could be a fake one." Mirajane points out.

"So what if she spoke out loud? She can talk." Natsu shrugs, referring to Lia.

"Yeah, but she's a cat." Droy argues.

"So? Happy's a cat and he can talk Droy." Natsu argues back.

"Jet, Happy is an Exceed though." Droy says to Jet, asking for back up.

"She's a normal cat, and she's behaving like a human!" Jet points out.

"Oh Lia, please end the confusion." Erza says finally, while holding her head. 'Yes Erza, thank you.' Lia shrugs and people move to give her some space. She jumps off the table and walks a few paces and turns around to face us. Then she transforms into her normal self.

Everyone gasp, except for the ones that already know - she smiles and introduce herself, "Hi, my name is Lia Katmist and I have been eating free food here for the past years." She thanks Mirajane for the food in which she replies it was not a problem.

"So you're that cat!" Gajeel realize.

Everyone starts to talk among themselves and as soon as Erza clears her throat, the room goes quiet. "Be nice everyone. Make her feel comfortable and welcome." I watch Lia, carried away by the guys and bring her over to another table. I hope they get along well and turn back my attention to Levy.

…5 min later...

"Found it!" Levy cries out. I lean in further to see what she found in the book. She read out loud, "There was a myth of the 13th and 14th Golden Key. The 13th key indeed exists as it was used in the Grand Magic Tournament by Yukino Aguria, witnessed by everyone at the game. It was said to be a metallic snake/dragon-like spirit. However, the 14th key was spoken little of, and has no known evidence or information about its spirit or form."

"Lucy you have to try it out!" Natsu says, poking me. I look at him and nod. Of course, I need to know whether this is the real deal or not. We walk out to the field behind the guild.

The members of the guild spread themselves out in a circle, standing near the wall leaving the middle of the field free for me to use my magic. I hold the key in my hand, and close my eyes. I feel tingling in my whole body, from excitement, and also magic power from the key. I can feel it; I believe deep in my heart that this is the real legendary key. I concentrate and activate my magic and say the words, "I am connected with the path to the celestial spirit world! Heed my call! Pass through the gate! Open, Gate of the Unformed, Ridus!" At that moment, a bright light appears from the end of the key, so bright the whole place looks white. The bright light recedes and there is a small ball of white light hovering in front of me. My eyes went wide. Umm, I'm not sure what to think of it at the moment.

An echoing voice coming from the ball of light says, "I am the spirit of the Unformed. I have waited many, very long years for someone to open my gate. I wondered if anyone was smart enough or stupid enough to try."

I gape, "But what is your form? You are just a ball of light. Wait, are you even the real 14th Golden key?" I ask. I am still skeptical, maybe this is some spirit fooling me.

"How dare you doubt the legendary key!" The echoing voiced booms. I gasp and take a step back. "I am sorry for losing my composure. Of course, I am legendary after all so you may think I was a hoax. However I am not. I am the real, legit 14th Golden Key." 'This guy is scary.'

I stare at it. The voice continues, "I am a spirit of no form. That is why, I am called the Unformed. I only take a form when my master wills me too."

"But I didn't know what your form is, and now you appeared as a ball of light." I say, as a matter of fact.

"Yes indeed, I felt it through your magic. Though you did not have a specific form in your mind." The voiced pause and ask me, "Tell me, Lucy Heartfilia, did the image of ball of light flashed to your mind at any point during the time you summoned me?"

I slowly nod. 'Hey, he knows my name?' "That is why I became a ball of light. My master has to have a specific form in their mind before summoning me." The spirit explains.

"So what you're saying is, if I were to imagine you as a cat" (I glance at Lia) "you would come out as a cat?"

"Yes, that is correct. No form is impossible."

"Right now, can you change your shape from a ball of light into something else? Let's say a very small pink dragon?" I have a picture of a small pink dragon in my mind; it is what I imagine Natsu to look like if he is a dragon.

The ball of light says, "I would have to return to the Celestial Spirit World in order to do that."

"Won't that take a long time? What if I'm in battle and you just disappeared?" I argue. 'Surely, that would leave me open for enemies to target.' I frown, that's lame and troublesome.

"You have little faith in me, young lady. I am not called the legendary key for nothing." With that, the ball of light disappears and a not even a second pass, another light shines and a small pink dragon with spiky tails appears.

"Hey, you turned into the same exact image I had in my head!" I exclaim. The same dragon I pictured, that's amazing!

The dragon bows and says, "Of course, I can see whatever image you willed me to be." Then, everyone claps and cheers.

I fidget, suddenly feeling timid and ask, "Would you like to make a contract with me?"

"Ah, you humans value things only by its strength and capabilities, always judging by appearance first, not for what's inside." The small dragon says with a bored voice.

That somehow feels like a knife stabbed my heart. This is a first time a spirit said something so rude and despicable, not even Aquarius can beat that. I quickly composed myself and act confident, "Excuse me? I never judge anyone by their appearance! I value my friends for their kindness, their heart and loyalty, not by their strength or weaknesses! You don't even know me and yet, you are the one that was judging me." 'There you go, in your face!'

The small dragon laughs, "Ah, you are a very brave girl and strong-willed. I can see that in your heart, your mind and in your eyes. My previous master was greatly influenced by greed and arrogance, that he thought he was invincible. He slew everything that was worthless and weak. I am sorry for coming to a conclusion so quickly. I apologize. I accept your offer humbly, and may we work and get along well together." The dragon bows again. He turns to Lia, and says, "I thank you for stumbling upon my key in that useless shop, if not for you I would still be stuck there or end up in the wrong hands." The guild cheers and claps again.

After I finish making the contract, Natsu said, "Hey Lucy, let's try out your new key!"

"What do you mean?" I ask. 'Don't tell me... Is he going to ask me what I think he will...?'

"I believe Natsu wants to have a duel with you using your new key." Erza says nonchalantly. 'I was right. Unfortunately.'

"Err I just got it. I haven't practiced..." I feel exhilarated but Levy says, "You can use this as a practice."

'Ugh, do I have to? Fine, I'll show him the power of Celestial Spirit Magic.' I shrug, she has a point, but knowing Natsu, he will probably overdo something... I turn to Natsu, "Fine, but don't overdo it." I turn to Ridus for consent and the dragon nods.

Aha, last chapter was a bit short - sorry about that.

So Lucy ~ real legendary key! and of course Natsu wants to fight -_-

Anyway, a bit of warning - I may post updates later than usual, so busy sorry :)
