I sat up somewhat dazed the next morning. The room I was in was surprisingly large but somewhat empty. There was a bedside table with a clock on it, a small blue rug, a wardrobe, and an old wooden rocking chair in the corner. The wall facing the outside world had a large window with a wide windowsill covered in pillows and a single grey blanket. A small basket was in the corner and a garbage bin was o the other side of my bed.
I tried to remember back to last night and what exactly had happened.
He had cornered me in that really creepy way, and threatened me. Then he just walked away and from there…
I found that I couldn't remember anything after he walked away.
I got out of bed and walked over to the wardrobe. Underwear and two bras still wrapped in the packaging, two pairs of jeans grey and black. Hanging up was a black tank top and a green pull-over hoodie. I quickly got redressed in the new clothes and opened up the drawer. My boots were there along with a package of socks.
"Looks like those clothes fit you pretty well I found them in a bag by my door when I went out to get some sushi." He said and I looked back over my shoulder.
"You've been staring outside for quite some time. Is there something out there that you want to see?" He said in that strange almost teasing tone he always used.
I closed my eyes and shook my head going back to eating the food in front of me. My arm was burning with pain and each movement was getting more and more difficult.
"Today I have some errands to run and part of that includes taking you to see Shinra." He dropped into the chair across the table from me and stared me down with those weird crimson eyes. I stared back and continued to eat.
"Why won't you at least say one word to me? Come on try it. How 'bout my name Izaya? I-za-ya~…" He grinned at me but I merely stared back and finished eating.
I grabbed my PDA from my pocket tying slowly. [I am in a lot of pain right now and not in the mood for your silly games.
I watched as Izaya stood up from the table and grabbed his coat. "Just put the dishes in the sink my assistant will deal with them later."
I got up almost stumbling as I brought the dishes over to the sink. As I was finishing putting away the dishes into the sink he opened the door looking back at me, waiting. I grabbed my hoodie and pulled it on making my way to the door. I brushed my hair out of my face and followed Izaya outside into the cold afternoon air.
Cars whizzed past wildly as we walked over the bridge. I stayed silent as he swayed his arms in a childish manner. It was quiet almost peaceful, I thought.
"IZAAAAAYYAAaAA! I TOLD YOU TO GET OUT OF IKEBUKURO!" A large blonde man screamed picking up a nearby mail container and hurling it at us. I darted forward and pushed Izaya to the ground, crying out as we hit the cement.
I got up quickly and peeked up and over the railing at the man. Izaya sits up laughing as I stare.
"All this and still nothing to say Yuki-chan?" he laughs. I glance back over at him and quickly look back as the blonde man screams something indecipherable and starts charging.
"Alright time to go after all we need to get you your medicine isn't that right?" I flinched slightly as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my feet taking off at a dead run.
I continued to look around as he pulled me along so many things unfamiliar to me even though I had been gone for just a year. People were ignoring us as if this chase was a normal everyday routine. Did they know who this blonde man was? Pain shot through my arm as Izaya abruptly turns left and upstairs dragging me along.
Slowly he reduces his pace finally letting go of my arm and walks up to an elevator pressing the button and tapping his foot impatiently.
The elevator arrived after a few minutes and he stepped inside. "Come along Yuki."
Reluctantly I followed. The door shut quickly behind me and the elevator immediately began ascending towards the upper levels of the building.
"So why don't you talk?" he says leaning in close.
I shakily typed out my answer and held up the PDA between us.
[I just don't. I don't really like to.] I glanced at the tiled floor of the elevator letting my hand drop to my side once more.
He leaned in closer and I felt his lips brush my ear as he spoke. "You are self-conscious of your voice that's easy enough to figure out, now I want to know why? What things could they have done for you to never want to speak again?"
The door opened and I sighed in relief and turned to step out when I had to suddenly stop.
Outside the door to Shinra's apartment was the blonde man.
"Ah what a coincidence Shizu-chan!"
