Hello my readers! I'm so sorry I haven't updated, I've been so busy, and I kind of forgot about this story for a while, and I had no inspiration. Plus I've been thinking of other stories that I will post, and you should check 'em out. This chapter may be shorter because I don't really know where this is going, even though I've been daydreaming about it. Hope you like it!

Chapter Three
Adams pov
I don't want to let her go. I finally have her. I don't plan on losing her again.
"Hey guys," Nine chimes in. "hate to interrupt but, I think they're waking up." He motions to the mogs lying on the ground around us, who are beginning to stir slightly.
"I hope you got more of that gas," One says to him.
"Who are you?" John asks
She puts on a smile, the one she used to give me when she was insulting me, or making a joke. "I'm number One." She says matter-of-factly.
John and Nine stand there, mouths gaping open. "Well, don't just stand there, they're waking up. Lets get moving." One says, walking past them
They both just stare at her, slowly following. It is all I can do not to laugh. I mean it's not like this hadn't happened before. We found Maggie pretty much the same way, and she had died (I think she still blames me for that.) Maybe it was because what I'd told them about her. I never mentioned the two of us, you know, how we were. Only that I was hooked up to a machine that gave me her memories and that she gave me her legacy.
Speaking of which, does she still have the legacy? Does7 she even have any at all? I'll have to ask her. I run up to her side.
"Do you still have your legacies?" I ask her.
She shrugs. "Maybe, haven't tried yet." She looks at me, a look similar to the one she gave me the last time I saw her, like she's afraid to loose me. Then it's gone and she's marching forward. "So, I assume you know the way out, Adam?"
"Yeah," I say, still in a daze, just watching her. She looks so much older, taller, prettier, than I remember. I remember her as a 14 year old girl, I only imagined what she might look like if she had never stopped growing. Now I know.
I like it.
"Do either if you care to elaborate on how this happened?" John asks.
"How about we save this conversation for the car?" I suggest.
There's no answer so I take that as an agreement. I take them through the same tunnels we came through. I notice the mogs who were laying on the ground when we came in are waking up. I hear grunts and clothes scratching on the stone floors.
"I think we need another bomb." I whisper. Then I notice there are only three gas masks. Sam is waiting in the car with the fourth one, because he opted to stay in the car. "But there's no mask for One."
"What does that mean?" One jumps in. "How are we gonna get passed them?"
"The old fashioned way." Nine says holding up a gun.
"I can't fight." One reminds him.
"Just stay behind me sweetheart, I'll keep you safe." Nine says.
One just laughs. "I don't need protecting."
"You sure?" Nine says. "I mean, last time you tried, you got yourself killed."
She goes silent. Stares at the floor.
"Hey," I punch him in the arm. "Don't talk about that."
"No, he's right. Maybe I do need someone to protect me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that."
"Guys," John is saying. "We should really get going if we wanna try and miss the mogs." He gestures to the mogs on the floor.
There are heads nodding and feet quietly maneuvering between unconscious bodies. Once we reach the exit, we run to the van. Once we're all in and Sam is asking questions, I realize how exhausted One is. She's leaning on my shoulder, eyes barely open, breathing hard, struggling to stay awake.
"What do you mean she's Number One?" Sam is saying, voice rising. "I thought One was dead."
"I was." One groans, eyes still closed.
"Then how are you alive?"
"I don't know." She says.
"How can you not know?"
"I don't know, okay? All I remember is waking up on a table and being dragged into some cell." She sounds annoyed now.
"You really need to rest." I say, hinting that everyone should stop asking her questions.
I feel her head move up and down a couple times. The others stay quiet. Sam has his eyes on the road, Nine and John exchanging looks, occasionally peeking over at the two of us.
We ride the rest of the way home in silence.
We finally get home and somehow manage to get One upstairs without any questions or looks. The ride up is silent, only the faint music in the elevator and heavy breathing can be heard. The door opens to the top floor and I find all the looks and questions no one asked on the way up.
Okay, I didn't really know how to end this so this is where it's gonna end for now. I finally added this chapter and hopefully I'll have another one up soon. It will probably be up faster than this one was. I love reviews, so do that, let me know what you think!:)
