Hey! I'm not dead! Sorry, I've been so busy with my school work and studying and all that boring crap. And if there is anyone reading this who actually enjoys reading the things that my brain comes up with, here's the next chapter of One's Return!
John's POV
We've been back for nearly thirty minutes, and no one is talking. There was a wall of questions and when we first walked in, Adam gave a brief explanation of what had happened. Now, almost everyone is staring at One warily, which is expected considering she was supposed to be dead.
We've hit an awkward silence where everyone just stares at One, who is intently staring at Adam, who is looking at their intertwined hands. They seem to want to be as close to each other as possible. One is practically sitting on him, having pressed herself as close as she can to him. Understandable, he's the only person she knows. She probably feels safest near him, though she seems to know who we are and that she's safe.
"What do we do now?" Six is the one to break the silence. "Do you even know how to fight?"
One looks at Six like she's crazy. "No, I don't know how to fight. Didn't have much time to learn between dying, and then being brought back from the dead, then barely making it here, but I'll try to write it in somewhere in my schedule."
"Your Cepan didn't teach you?"
"...I was kind of...well I didn't tend to show up to training very often." One says, not looking at Six.
"Why?" Six looks about ready to slap One.
"I felt that surfing was more important."
That sets Six off. "So you spent the majority of your time surfing when you should have been training to fight off the Mogs. I would have thought that you, being number one, would understand that you need all the time you could get trying to stay alive."
"Leave her alone." Not only Adam says it this time, but also Nine.
They're both standing up. Well, at least One tries to stand up. "I was a stupid, naïve, kid. I wanted to fit in. I know that I should have spent more time training. I should have spent the time learning how to get rid of those monsters." Adam looks away when she says that. "Truth is, I didn't think about it. I didn't want it to be my reality, so it wasn't. I understand now how stupid that was, but I can't be the only member of the Garde to want to be normal." After about ten seconds of awkward silence she turns in half circles, looking around her.
"I wanna go to lay down. Where's the bedroom?" She asks, clearly wanting to get away before Six can scold her more.
"Uh, down the hall, to the left." Nine says, and Adam takes her away, but not before Six can mutter, "No wonder she died."
Okay, I hope you liked it. I know it is REALLY short, probably the shortest I've ever written. I hope you liked it, and I promise, I will update this again really soon, I really will, okay? So don't give up on me, I'm not done with this story yet, so stick around it. Also if you're a Lorien Legacies fan, please go check out my other fanfiction called Lore's Daughter. I want to continue it, but I want to know if people actually want to read it. Please review with your thoughts, I update faster when I know people actually want more. P.S. I'm sorry if Six seems a little out of character. Okay, bye!
